WEDNESDAY AT OAK TREE

ZENYATTA TAKEN BY DAVID MORANT

Race 1           One Mile Sixteenth Claimer  10K

Fiery Trippi last race was a race he finished second to closer Joe Carl. He drops into a 10K claimer. He meets a field void of early pace. His front running style fits with a field of closers. A short price and is the likely winner in today's first race.  Joel Rosario takes the call on Self Insured who was claimed by Dominic Fama. He will sit off the pace and close down the stretch. A contender to win this. The horse that looks to be the horse most likely to reel in the top choice Fiery Trippi. Marquet Rebel will do his best running down the stretch. It just might be too late for this dude. I have no strong opinion in this bottom feeder race. It looks like it is Fiery Trippi race on the lead........ with closers trying to reel him in.

     1. Fiery Trippi    2. Self Insured  3. Marquet Rebel

Race 2           Seven Half Maiden 40K

Dancinconstrellas trained by Carla Gaines returns to dirt after a lack luster turf race up north. Her first race at this level makes her a contender. Her drawback is she has no real speed and it will be up to her to close on a race with little early pace. She stretches out today to make a late closing kick down the stretch. Closer Kiss My Swiss had a troubled trip against 40K company. She should love the added distance. She can win this with her third start after a lay off. Give Me Onereason fits with numbers and has never race this low! She has speed and might be the filly on the lead in a race filled with mid pack runners and stone cold closers! Beware she might try to wire this field with Victor sending her to the front. Phi Beta Heat is dropping into the claiming ranks for the first time. A stone cold closer and longer distance might help her improve. A contender in a race that looks wide open to me. A interesting long shot and I will take a long look at is Image Of Super who ran a even race in her debut and can only improve with a race under her belt. Note that Joe re-rides this filly.

           1. Phi Beta Heat

Race 3           Seven Claimer 20K
A good betting race with many contenders and few pretenders. The pace scenario is one of little pace on the front end. Marino's Promise with P-Val most likely will be sent to the front end. She almost beat Movie Duty who just turned out to be a win machine at the claiming ranks. She is a contender with the added distance today. Girlwithegoldhoof just beat maidens but she has early speed and will take them as far as she can go. Jaw N' Paws is the logical filly to win this. She takes another drop in class for the money run but it is not a good signal...... she just might be off form and over bet. Tuscan Chianti looked great beating older claimers. Remember that this is a race for 3 year old fillies only. The horse that I expect to run big is Frequent Fame who is coming off a 6 week lay off. She is the horse for the course and loves the cushion track. Tab the upgrade with Rafael Bejarano. The horse that I expect to run big is the rail filly Jana Gail. She shortens up today and Martin Garcia can save ground the wait for the speed to melt down then pounce on the rabbits at the wire!  She looks scary as a win contender at seven furlongs at this level.

        1. Jana Gail

$60 Minus

Race 4           Seven Half Furlongs Claimer 25K

A great betting race at a difficult distance of seven and half furlongs. Bob Baffert rarely claims a horse but he claimed Salty Sarah for 12k then hikes her up to the 25K level. She has speed and will show major improvement in her second start after a May lay off. She can win with a hint of a price. Angel Before Us trained by Victor Garcia who can flat out train a horse to run her best performance after a long lay off. This is her third start after a January race and gets the Dominican Dandy to ride. She is a stone cold closer who has run with better so beware......she will likely be near at the final furlong. Hot Little Bug had a difficult trip her last race coming off a year long lay off. She looks to improve over her last race with some racing luck therefore she is the scary horse to get her diploma today! I love the pedigree on Dixie Unioness. She has never raced this low!

Pick Three   3,8   with 1 and 3 with All  Returned $48.20

$20  Across the board on Salty Sarah

Race 5           Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight

A decent field of 2 year old fillies enters this sprint for there diploma's. River's Mambo shortens up for this. She looks to improve with 2 races under her belt showing speed in both races. P-Val jumps off and goes to a first time starter Bound For Eden. Look the sire of the year in my opinion is Tapit who sends out running who win early. She is trained by Ruben  Cardenas who sent out Blondies Bling last week and won. She looks live so Beware! The filly Plum Pretty a first time starter by Medaglia d' Oro trained by Bob Baffert has decent works but must overcome the rail which is a difficult task for first time starters.

       1. Bound For Eden    2. Plum Pretty

Race 6           Six Furlongs Turf Claimer 50K

The speed or rabbit in this turf sprint is Pinal This to me is a wide open race that you might make a case for each and every runner in this field. Danzip by Danzig should love the grass. He finished a respectable third in a $50K stake race at Fairplex. He has gas with Pinal heating up the front end. If the speed melts down the a closer can win this race. Streakino Mohican adds speed and therefore speed kills with the turf race. He is a contender! Otto Von Voom was claimed by Jerry Hoffendorfer for 50K. He can sit then wait off the pace and then fly by the rabbits at the wire. Mr. Toyko defeated Pinal and Streakino Mochican but has not run a decent turf race yet. I say yet because if he takes to the sod he can win this.

Pick Three   3,4  with All with 2

$20 Place on Mr. Toyko

Race 7           Six Furlongs Optional Claimer

The pace scenario is Onenightin Beijing hitting the lead at the quarter and half mile pole. She sure look good winning her last race at Fairplex. She will take them as far as she goes...... which might be to the wire. Appealing Afare trained by Doug O'Neil has hit the board in all her five starts. Her workouts are good in a somewhat weak field. She can win! Vision In Gold has faced better company. A filly by Medaglia D' Oro raced in the Hollywood Oaks and the Railbird. She will be running her best late down the stretch. Ron Ellis gas this filly ready to rock and roll. She looks scary and a win contender here. Dani Reese like the cushion track having won three starts at Hollywood. A return to this track should help her today. Naughty Mariana had a horrible trip her last race. She has gas and if she does not bounce today.... a slight improvement she can upset this field........ I like her today!

            1. Naughty Mariana

$20 Place on Naughty Mariana

Race 8           Five Half Furlongs Maiden 40K

Beware of the Tapit horse in this race..... Taptap I'm Gone a first time starter! Banana Cream Pie looks good enough to eat....... a stone cold closer at this distance is my only concern. Miss Lulu justice gets Martin Garcia which might prove to be a runner. Portland had a troubled trip and with a clean break might do a complete turn around..... a contender!

              1. Taptap I'mgone
