Race 1 One Mile Sixteenth Maiden Special Weight
Most of the field is trying two turns today....... Slammer Time trained by Gary Mandella is dropping from open company into California bred special weight. It's quite a drop in class. Slammer Time showed speed his last race on turf and should press the pace today. A Major player in this field. Shane Daniel looks to be the speed of the race. A gelding by Storm Cat has the highest speed numbers of the race. Shane Daniel is trained by Doug O'Neil with P-Val taking the call! McCovey Cove is shipping down from Northern Ca. He has been a money burner at the windows. This might be a tad tougher then the races he faced at the fair then at Golden Gate. But having said that these are improving 2 year old babies. Woodman's Luck is the colt with the edge on experience and has speed figures to win this race. He has never raced at a route distance but looks like he wants 2 turns. I expect this is the horse to fear down the stretch today. A Major Contender going two turns......... a interesting long shot is Opinionated claimed at 40K his first race. He ran like he was putting in a public outing. One race does not make a career and he should move up in place and speed number. He gets a hike in class.
1. Slammer Time 2. Shane Daniel 3. Woodman's Luck
.Race 2 Six Half Furlongs Starter Allowance
Hugs To All looks like the speed and might be the only horse at the quarter and half mile pole. The main question is the added distance of six and half furlongs....... Come catch me if you can is the pace scenario! Big Revolution won a 25K maiden. Two horses out of the race came back and won....... live key maiden race. A Player! I expect D'Oro Dancer to be right off the pace and this closing sprinter can win if the rabbits has a speed melt down cause by the added distance and speed pressure! Quinton's Flash has gas and can pick off the horses at the top of the lane. A Contender in a small field. You can make a good case for each and every horse in this contentious starter allowance....... no horse that cannot win this!
1. D' Oro Dancer 2. Hugs To All 3. Quinton's Flash
Race 3 Six Furlongs Claimer 8K
I picked Brought It to win at the Bullring and she did that holding off the fast flying Squeeze Me Tight! This just might be a classic example of a mare that might bounce or regress. She has the highest speed number in this field. She has put one morning drill after her race at Fairplex Park. Tab her right back at Oak Tree. First Queen won at Fairplex and looks like she is fit and in form. P-Val takes the call. She is a threat from off the pace to overtake Brought It. A Major Player! Haven's Lake is a horse for the course and loves the cushion track. She has won at this level! County Kildare is climbing up the claiming class ladder. She is a tough customer and I Like her today for a long shot play! She is a improving 4 year old filly that has speed and tactical speed which is a great asset to have! She can win despite the class hike which many bettors will overlook her at the windows. Miss Lydia is coming back from over a year lay off. She is no win machine but she meets a field of suspect contenders. Jack Carava can flat out train horses to get them fit and ready to rock and roll. She needs a speed meltdown on the front end but she never has run this low level as she faces today........Jack has strung together a series of drill for her preparation today... Beware!
1. Brought It 2. Miss Lydia 3. First Queen

Race 4 Six Half Maiden Claimer 32K
She'awontontomato has faced better company. She has finished third in her last two starts. She seems to me to hang like a cheap suit. She will be over bet and might be ripe for a upset down the lane. Miss Buxley drops from 62K to 32K and tab the major jockey switch to Joe Talamo. Sean S showed gas at the bullring after racing at the maiden special weight level. A Player on the rail. The filly I expect to show run is Pacific Coast Girl by Vindication. I pick her to hit the board at Del Mar. She ran like she was in the race to get a race under her belt. A excellent pedigree with early first time starters Pacific Coast Girl just might surprise the tote today. Check out her morning work out tab. AC and Berrio hook up for a smasher at double digit odds. Wild And Gotaway is a 2 year old filly by Deputy Minister. She was well back at Fairplex in a higher class of maidens then this weak field. This looks wide open to me!
1. Pacific Coast Girl 2. Wild And Gotaway 3. Miss Buxley
Race 5 One Mile Sixteenth Turf Allowance
A wide open turf route.... a great betting race straight up or the Pick Four and Pick three! Tiz Agent looked awesome coming from dead last to fly by the field and win giving Joel Rosario his Jockey title at Del Mar. He in fact looked like Silky Sullivan being steadied and making up 20 lengths from off the pace. A Contender and player if he breaks cleanly. Tiz Agent can win this from off the pace. The pace scenario looks to have Danzing Tribal on the lead. If given the chance to slow down the early factions he might just be tough at the wire. I expect many horses at the top of the lane. Accelerant the son of Unusual Heat won going around two turns at Del Mar. He looks fit and in form to beat this field. I think a slight improvement over the maiden race and he too can win this race. Runaway Bandido with Miguel's Mascot and Boy Walsh look to have a say at the wire....... all three are player's! Lodi Red was the horse I pick in his last race. This three year old gelding was stopped in traffic at this same condition. He needs luck getting though the lanes today but he can win this race at double digit odds........ A great betting race.
1. Tiz Agent 2. Lodi Red 3. Accelerant
Race 6 One Mile Sixteenth Maiden Special Weight
Star Presence trained by Bob Baffert adds the blinkers. She stretches to another furlongs today. A Storm Cat filly out of AP Indy is making her third start of her career. She looks fit and ready but my concern is her last two workouts for the trainer who usually has them blazing in the morning time Her last two works were modest! Ricketyracektyuss was claimed by John Sadler and she stretches out for a route. This second start for her she should love the distance out of a sire by Borrego. Tab for major improvement! Big Tiz exits the same race as Star Presence and has put together 2 excellent blazing work out.......... A Player ! Weekend Party ran a race like she was in a public outing. Today she will be more focus with a even race under her belt.
1. Star Presence 2. Ricketyracekyuss 3. Big Tiz
Race 7 Six Furlongs Turf Allowance
The Feature Turf Sprint on Today's card:
1. Sister Dawn........ She found a surface that she loves........ the turf! Her trip back East in graded company was a disappointment but she looks better on turf then dirt. This filly has the pedigree to be special. A Major Contender! She almost beat La Nez after a bad trip..... if she stays out of trouble on the rail she can turn the tables on La Nez.
2. La Nez........ She needs to step up and show that she loves the turf. Her pedigree by the dam Iz A Saros indicates that she will relish the surface...... On Class ........ she is scary......... she has tactical speed to sit just right off of the pace and close........ Might just be the favorite after the bells ring.
3. Church Camp....... CC is coming off a lay off with a series of excellent drills in the morning time. In fact I love the long six furlong Brian has put into her for this race. She might be a little light on speed numbers but if she is more mature at this time of her racing career...... she just might outrun her odds...... lots to like!
4. Softly Singing trained by Jerry Hofflendorfer ....... he spots them for action. She tries the turf for the first time. A stone cold closer with pace to run at in this race. I expect a good performance from her.
5. Miss Silver Brook.......... She has dance with some quality fillies and exits graded stake races to try the distance of a sprint. It looks like a experiment that the owner and trainer what to know about this quality fillies....... can she sprint is the unknown question. In her only sprint it was at Hollywood and she flew at the wire to finish 3rd behind some of the best turf sprinters the West Coast has to offer! She can win this race.
6. Sweet Sophia..........a quality filly that just might be a head case in putting together a string of quality or respectable finishes....Runs a good race then regresses..........but the Great News is that her 2 wins have been on turf........ she a contender!
1. Miss Silver Brook 2. Sister Dawn 3. Church Camp
Race 8 Six Half Claimer 50K
I loved how Ron Ellis horse Pinal a stablemate of Golden Itiz won at the bullring in the Pomona Derby. He has speed and meets a field with little pace on the front end. The rabbit of this race might just be Streakin Mohican who set a fast pace his last race against older horses. He is the one to catch. Beware of the come backer Color Of Courage who looks to me to be spotted for action. Maybe Yes is taking off the blinkers today on the rail. I pick this horse to close on the field at a starter allowance race at this track. He won! Martin Garcia won with this horse and Fanning tries to mix it up taking the blinkers off. I like Pinal to win but do not take this horse lightly..... Maybe Yes if maybe the speed melts down with the added half furlong with 2 rabbits in the race. The good news is that Maybe Yes has fast factions to run at. He might be this good to win.......... at double digits odds .........25 to 1........ He needs a major turn around because my both top picks handle this horse in his last 2 races. Maybe taking off the blinkers will be the major turn around. A long shot but............trying to beat the two top picks. Mr Tokyo has a shot to win this. I picked him to hit the board at double digit odds and he ran a excellent race with Thomas Bains who then came back a won again......... A Contender and Major Player!
1. Pinal 2. Streakin Mohican 3. Mr. Tokyo
Long Shot Maybe Yes
