THURSDAY AT OAK TREE

Bank Update for Thursday.

Race 1           Six Furlongs Claimer 25K

Michailashearlite two year old speed number was solid. She drops into a claimer from Fairplex Park which she ran against better company. She almost won at the entry level of 40K allowance. In this field she looks scary on the win end. She looked good winning at Hollywood. Roulette It Roll broke her maiden at Golden Gate her last race. She is a high price filly that will be bet with JR taking the call. Miss Nikki C fits with her speed numbers and just throw out her last race at the Fairplex because she had a trouble trip at the gate and down on the backstretch.

Race 2           One Mile Sixteenth Maiden Special

The speed looks to be Shane Daniel who has never raced at a route distance before.  He has the speed numbers to be scary and if the distance suits him he can win this with P-Val in the drivers seat. A Storm Cat gelding trained by Doug O'Neil has hit the board in all of his starts. Just Imagine has faced super stars like Clubhouse Ride and Premier Pegasus. His pedigree suggests that the distance is no problem. His pedigree is better then what he has produced on the track. I expect he will improve at this distance and class level. The mid-pack closer who should love the added distance is Cash Michael. His debut was a somewhat learning experience for him. He has a strong solid workout tab in the morning. On paper he will have to deal with Shane Daniel down the lane. A major contender! Another player just might be Mazarron. He was well back in his debut by the bettors. JR stays with him to re-ride. His debut was alright with some gate problems. He is stretching out to two turns and I expect improvement. Maybe underneath in the place or show pools.

Race 3           One Mile Sixteenth Maiden 32K

A very weak field on many pretenders trying to break there cherry today routing on the cushion track. Recipient by Glen Hill Farm looks to be sent on the rail by Nakatani. She looms large and should improve with this field. The horse that has raced around two turns is the shipper from Golden Gate Go Tena Go who almost won her first race. She takes a class hikeand this filly by War Chant with JR guiding her looks like the logical winner of the race. A sprinter who can also win this is the sprinter Sly Kitten who looks fit and is stretching out in distance. I like the pedigree of Lemon Drop Ridge who fits with this group. Do not take the horse that exits a highly rated maiden special weight race and that is the filly Sambora. She looks live!

$ 20 Across the board on 1 Recipient

Race 4           Six Furlongs Turf Claimer 32K

I like the horse Ashee who had a trouble trip her last start. The logical winner if you are looking at prior races is Tamerin. If she shows up then all the other horses are running for second. She is the speed of this race. If she melts down near the wire then  Saaneen can wait, then blow by Tamerin or Ashee at the wire.

Pick three
4th  1,6
5th  All
6th   1,3,5,7       PAID $986.50

$20 Show on Saaeen        The show pool money is hammered with the favorite Tamerin

Race 5           Six Furlongs Optional Claimer

The rabbit might be  Truest Legend and will take them as far as he can go. The scary horse that should have won his last race at this very level is Spaniard. He is trained by Bob Baffert and is reunited with JR. It looks to me that there is a ton of speed in this race which sets it up for a closer to come off the pace. Spaniard and El Martillo fits this to a tee. Square Deal was the horse I pick in his last race and quite frankly he has tactical speed to sit, wait, then fly by at the wire. A horse that I have followed is Our Shorty who had to need his last race and was short........ I expect he will be more fitter this time around at double digit odds. I like him to hit the board today!

Race 6           Six Half Claimer  12K

Movie Duty won her last two races for a higher level then this 12K dollars claimer. She has the for sale sign around her neck so take note. She is the speed of this race and on paper and I say on paper can wire this field gate to wire. The heavily favored class dropper should win this race. But........ Pretty Kinzie and Yasuda have a real shot to upset Movie Duty if there is something not right about her or if she just does the classic bounce.........I have to include a horse that has been a major disappointment which is Fair Kisses in my last leg of a pick three...... Movie Duty and Pretty Kinzie with Yasuda then lastly Fair Kisses........ she needs a major turn around but at this level......must include!!

Race 7           Six Furlongs Allowance

Blue Jay Attack drops from open company back into California-bred allowance company today in the feature race at Oak Tree. If he runs back to the Del Mar turf race where he got second then he will win this. A speedster A Plus Topper is a major player on the front end to not stop near the top of the lane and hold on and win this race also. He's A Dance Star looked great winning at Fairplex and is not over match  with running style and numbers or class.

.

Race 8           Six Furlongs Maiden 25K

The bottom level of cellar dwellers with few contenders and many pretenders...... Crafty Hedger drops from maiden special weight to the bottom. He last race 10 months ago he was claimed by Carl O'Callagham.......... and now faces this field. This gelding has tactical speed and looks live first time back in 10 months. Bob Baffert's horse Take A Hard Look drops and tries claimers for the first time. A high price tag hangs around his neck. Big Bad Boo is the money pit who has been back by the public just far to many times...... He fits again! I like the pedigree of Roar........ Robert Troeqer and P-Val takes this young horse....... Roaring Rick

$20 Place on Roaring Rick
