Race 1 Six Half Furlongs Maiden 40K
Roman Chic shortens up to six and half furlongs. Moreover she is dropping in class from maiden special weight to face maiden 40K's. She looks scary with speed and tactical speed to win this race. Victor jumps off along with Bejarano is my major concern. Lutess looks like she is spotted for action today and might just found a field that she can beat. A contender to win this sprint with tactical late speed. Lemony Fresh has a great angle......... Mike Smith only race of the day and goes from turf to dirt. No throw out here! Moondance Ali was a head case her first race and acted like a baby at the gate. She was given 2 months off. She drops from special weight and gets P-Val in the drivers seat.......
1. Roman Chic 2. Lutess 3. Moondance Ali
Race 2 Six Furlongs Maiden Claimer 40K
A Jay Totter look at this wide open affair:
1. Limited Passion's first race at Del Mar she showed gas and almost won. Joel Rosario was in the irons during that race and he shows up today to ride. A four year old filly with tactical speed and improving speed numbers to win and get her diploma.
2. Abovetheinfluence is trained by Marty Jones who has been on fire at Oak Tree....... everything he sends out is live! Above's first race was in a restricted maiden special race. She beat a good horse in Rich In NYC........ which just came back last week a finishen second in a highly regarded maiden race. She will be flying late at the wire and looks scary on the win end.
3. Lady Lazer looks to me to be a live first time starter. Check out all her many workouts preparing her to be cranked up and fit to rock and roll. A Storm Cat filly out of a mare by Unusual Heat which are bred to win early and bred for speed.
4. Miss Addy Kiss has great work her last to morning drills....... including a breezing work out which I love. this trainer and jockey combo are deadly with first time starters so Beware!
5. Tiz O'Gold is seeking a proper level to give her the best chance to win. The owner and trainer must think highly of her....... Tab the switch to Bejarano.......
6. Kiss My Swiss gets the deadly trainer jockey combo of Miller and P-Val........ live one maybe...
7. Image Of Super.......... where have we seen this through the years... the filly is owned by Harris Farms and the trainers is Carla Gains which can get them cranked and fit to fire first time out.......
$20 Place on Lady Lazer ROI $120.00
Race 3 One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 8K
Skellytown exits a highly regarded race last time out in which that race has produced to next out horses that won. Joe Carl and Streets Of Heaven. The rabbit of this race is Lucis Antonius who might just get brave on the front end and wire this field. These two horse are the ones to beat! I'm watching this one!
1. Skellytown 2. Lucis Antonius
Race 4 One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 25K
I like Fair Kisses at this level and distance with David Flores. She will have juicy odds today and will be overlooked by the public. She has been a disappointment after looking great at Santa Anita. She looks fit but the major question is her form..... Cruzin Topless looks like the horse to beat stretching out to 2 turns with JR in the irons.
1. Cruzin Topless 2. Fair Kisses
Race 5 One Mile Sixteenth Turf Claimer 32K
The pace scenario looks to have contested speed on the front end with Hidden Romance and one way speed rabbit Beautiful American. Hidden Romance looks like the front runner. Beautiful American claimed by Morey has won 6 out of 10 races up North. She has the outside post position and is quick to gun it to the lead with Hidden Romance. She might just sit and relax behind Romance slowing down the factions then have enough gas to close down the stretch. That's one pace scenario! If the speedy rabbits falter then a number of horses have the right style to close on turf. Girl Of Pangaea has been freshen for 2 months and if fit to rock and roll then she will fly late at the wire. Samba School trained by Mike Mitchell won at Fairplex is a field of suspect runners. She looked great that day and she gets back on a surface that she loves. Martin Garcia will take the re-ride! She is fit and in form and can win this race. Dextera love the show adds blinkers today. Two races back she was claimed for 40K then her last race she stumbled out of the gate and lost all chances in the race. With the addition of blinkers and her third race she might just upset this field at the wire. She is a stone cold closer that has positive upside and excuses to merit her a long look.! Madeline Rudy is no win machine. This start is her fourth race after a February lay off. She fits but seems to hang like a cheap suit down the lane. One of these days is the theme for her.... lots to like and lot's to think about before unloading on her.
1. Girl Of Pangera 2. Beautiful American 3. Hidden Romance
Race 6 Six Half Furlongs Starter Allowance
A tough group of 2 year old's in this sprint allowance race. Tales In Excess looked great winning her debut at Del Mar. In fact, she has the highest speed number of any 2 year old at the Del Mar meet. She looks on paper to be the horse to beat. She has never been headed by a horse at the quarter or half mile pole. Her rivals have excellent pedigree's and will give her a run for her money on the win end. Sarah's Secret smoked a excellent field of maiden's when the runner up returned to win. She can sit right off the pace and close down the lane. She is a contender! May Day Rose gets the rail to save ground with the added distance today. She fits on speed numbers. She has both speed and tactical speed to choose today. A Major Player! The horses with a edge in experience and class are Swiss Wild Cat and Hi Ho Yodler both have won stakes races. Both have the running style to lay low in the first half of the race and let the rabbits burn themselves out and then have a killer closing kick at the wire to win this race.
1. Tales In Excess 2. Swiss Wild Cat 3. Hi Ho Yodler
Late Pick Three ALL with 3,4,7 with 2,5,6 cost $36.00
Race 7 One Mile Turf Claimer 50K
A salty cast of runner's enters this highly competitive turf route for three year old claimers. Ranger Heartley looks to be the speed and might just try to steal this race on the front end. Ranger Heartley switches to the turf............ no problem with the distance or the turf pedigree top to bottom. California Soldier was claimed by John Sadler. In his two starts he looks great winner stretching out the win by 5 lengths. He then came back on turf and ran a respectable second. A scary look of a improving 3 year old. The one to fear at the wire is California Soldier. Face And An Ace looked great before he raced in the Oceanside Stakes race at Del Mar. Since that poor performance he has tailed off and in a downward trend. I thought highly of him in the Oceanside and sad to say he has not looked very good after that. Paco was high on him and Blanc re-rides. This is the field that gives him the best chance to show up and run a respectable race........ He has a shot here to improve and win from off the pace. Alley Hondro is facing winners for the first time and quite frankly in this group there is no big scary monsters....... he has upside on the turf and is fit and ready to show his stuff. A contender! Valley Cat had a troubled trip his last race with Camp Victory and California Soldier. He can turn the tables on California Soldier with a clean break and will be flying late at the wire. This is a interesting contentious feature race today at Oak Tree! Wide Open!
1. Valley Cat 2. California Soldier 3. Alley Hondro
Race 8 Six Half Maiden 40K
The speed of the race might just be Swiss G's. A 2 year old gelding by Swiss Yodeler trained Art Sherman gets a prefect gate jockey who will sent early in P-Val. One of these early races in his career he will not stop. Beware of Swiss G's! Wild And True was hammered down at the betting window. He was claimed by John Sadler who has a keen eye for value. He walked out of the gate after breaking through the gate before the sound of the bell. He made a move down the backstretch then he faded at the top of the lane. He needs the added distance and with a race under his belt is a major contender of the win end. Marty Jones has 2 horses in this race. I like the 2 year old gelding by In Excess Stone Hot. He broke badly and was steadied in his first race. Marty Jones horses improve a ton second time out. David Flores sticks with Stone Hot and I expect major improvement with this horse........ a player! Call Me Later on the outside with Joel Rosario in the irons fits with the field. Call Me Later will by flying late and has pace to run at ....... which makes this horse dangerous......
1. Swiss G's 2. Wild And True 3. Stone Hot
Call Me Later........
Pick Three Paid $40.70 minus $36 plus $ 3.30
