SUNDAY AT OAK TREE HOLLYWOOD PARK

ZENYATTA TAKEN BY DAVID MORANT
Saturday Bank was $1,532.00... In Race 5 I bet $20 across the board on Dan Hendricks horse Regroup and returned $322.00. In Race 6... I bet $20 place bet on John Eli and returned a ROI $ 32.00. The losing tickets totaled $44.00. Saturday's profit was $310.00 plus the starting bank equals Sunday's Starting Bank of $1,843.00

Race 1           Six Half Furlongs Claimer 25K

The Phenom is dropping from a 40K dollar claimer to this condition a 25K dollar claimer. He has speed and should be on the lead gate to wire. Mike Mitchell does this move dropping horses 2 levels for the money run. This 2 year old Da Stoops colt does get added distance is my only concern. He might just give it up the final half furlong. Sammy Choi exits the same race as The Phenom. He had a somewhat weird trip taking up then dropping back then finish full of run. He gets a perfect post position on the outside and should be reeling in The Phenom at the six furlong pole. He is a two time winner and he is good enough to win this. The deadly trainer and jockey combo of Hess and Rosario teams up with Sammy Choi. So beware! He is a son of Old Topper has won all his races at a lower level.  He has gas and the question is one of class and speed numbers. But I will give this horse and long look before dismissing him because of the trainer and jockey. This horse might be this good.

       1. The Phenom   2. Sammy Choi   3. He Is

Race 2           Five Half Claimer 8K

A weird race at the bottom level claiming ranks. County Kildare last race at six furlongs she led to the deep stretch before getting past by at the wire. Today's distance she shortens up and might just hang on from gate to wire. Ann's Seven is the other front runner who won at this track in June. She is a player to win this. Squeeze Me Tight has be come a hanger down the lane which makes it hard to trust her for a win. But having said this she is sharp and on just speed numbers the horse to fear for a win. Victory Dash trained by Doug O'Neil drops from the sky and has the for sale sign around her neck.

           1. County Kildare   2. Ann's Seven

Race 3           Six Furlongs 2 yr. Old Fillies

A great betting race and a contentious 2 year old filly stake race. Gone Rebel exits the Del Mar Debutante. She showed gas for half the race before giving in up. She has been freshened up since the Debutante and has the look of a filly that will speed to the front end and tell her rivals come catch me if you can. Tales In Excess will sit and wait and then try to reel in the top choice at the wire.  Blazing Along a maiden looks like a runner with a hint of a price. I like this filly who finished behind Rigoletta at Del Mar. Pleasing Sunrise will try to pick up the pieces.

    1. Tales In Excess  2. Blazing Along  3. Gone Rebel

Race 4           Six Furlongs Turf Maiden Special Weight

Marker Down by Fusaichi Pegasus which has produced a number of talented winner enters this field. He has 2 excellent work out since his last race. Tab him for major improvement. I love the pedigree and work outs of Ransom Demand a 2 year old Grand Slam colt trained by Richard Mandella. But the first time starter that looks like all systems are a go is Mr. Artistic M D...........has great works and gets JR to ride for Kathy Walsh. The speed of the race just might be P-Val's filly  Shelter Cove who might just not stop today if the first time starter do not fire! All Slews Star get Bejarano and is trained by Doug O'Neil might just fire. This race will be fun to watch.

     1. Mr. Artistic M D   2. Marker Down  3. Ransom Demand

Race 5           Six Furlongs Claimer 20K

I like Dish The Dirt who fires fresh and is the fastest mare in this field. The rabbit is Ultra Awesome and the horse for the course in that she loves this track and distance. Butch Marino is my long shot pick who might just outrun her odds. Small But Mighty last win was at this track back in 08....... Martin Garcia takes the call so that in itself makes her a player!

             1. Dish The Dirt   2. Ultra Awesome  3. Butch Marino

Race 6           One Mile Sixteenth Turf Maiden Special

Maybe the hardest race to pick a winner in this wide open maiden turf route race.

           1. Circa'sgoldengear  2.Breakmark  3. Papa Lev

Minus $30 for Pick Three bets

$20 across the board on 2  ROI $88.00

Race 7           Six Furlongs Claimer 20K

Sea of Pleasure is the pure speed and will go as far as she can go! The class of the race is Mr. Monkey Jones who ran races last year that would crush this field. She picks up JR ans I think spotted for action. Please do not take Proud Cardenal lightly....can win this race!

   1. Mr. Monkey Jones  2. Sea Of Pleasure 3. Proud Cardenal

Pick Three  1,2,3,4,6  with 1,2,4,7 with 5  Cost is $20

Race 8           One Mile Turf Allowance

Jet Blue Girl is the speed and is stretching out to two turns today. Hemera enters in top form and looks scary as the one to fear here! i like the way Charm The Crowd looked when she broke her maiden.... tab for major improvement. My girlfriend is Patsy so I will back her play as a up setter here ........ Patsy's Lil Buddy

Race 9           Five Half Maiden 25K

I like to take a shot with the first time starter Subtle Creek and Beachfront. Prime is the horse to fear down at the wire with Bejarano up in the irons. Teenage Dancer will be picking up the pieces with JR.

          1. Beachfront     2. Subtle Creek
