THURSDAY DEL MAR

UPDATE BANK $1231
Think positive and the bank is in the black but has been free falling like the Tom Petty tune! Six more days of the  poly track...... It will be great for the bank to get back to the cushion track or maybe real dirt so the factions are honest and the horses form stays true! Let's see what I can do with six days and a bank of $1231. I want to thank my readers for your time and thank you for coming back when some of my pick ran out! I never had a run like this and I have remain positive so........Let the games begin!

Race 1           One Mile  Maiden 32K
2 year old route on the main track starts the card for Thursday. Graydle's Red should relish the added distance. Tab for improvement with a race under his belt. Grand Maneuver a head case at the break looks tough to beat if he breaks cleanly in this lack luster field of maidens..... almost want to bet a first time starter with this bunch.

       1. Grand Maneuver  2. Graydle's Red  3. Draft Only

Race 2           One Mile Turf Starter Allowance
Greely's Ghost is a two time loser at this condition. He is proven on the turf and coupled with No Stadium will likely be the favorite in this starter allowance. Camicory by In Excess should love the turf off his maiden win in which he was claimed by Jeff Mullins...... a major contender with great odds. Oak Kye Why the favorite last race at this condition has the perfect style trying the turf for the first time...... He has tactical speed and can close off the pace....... Victor and Cassidy team up....... It's Not Unusual looked impressive his last race with having all sorts of trouble........ please do not take this one lightly....... JR climbs aboard!

       1. It's Not Unusual 2.Oak Kye Why 3. Greely's Ghost

Race 3           Six Half Furlong Starter Allowance
A cast of salty runners enters this starter allowance condition. Price looked impressive when he broke slow and flew by horses. I had him on my watch list and now he returns away since December. Check out his drills in the morning with a bullet. Howard Zucker trains and looks like he has him fit and cranked up for a smasher! Moreover seven furlongs is a hard distance to win first time out and rarely do first time starters win........Quinton's Flash is in form and very fit and is the horse to fear! Spectacular Slew looms large as the upsetter..... but having said this I like Price at a price to win!

Pick Six  5  with 4 with 6,9,13 with 6 with 1 with 1

20 Dollars across the board on Price

Race 4           One Mile Turf Maiden Special Weight
Move On Gypsy has tactical speed trained by James Cassidy with Victor Espinoza turning for home in a great position to pounce on the rabbits. The horse to beat! Spanish Bunny fits with the top pick! Givemeonereason has run races on turf that fits with the 2 top picks. My long shot pick of the race!

                    1. Move On Gypsy
                    2. Spanish Bunny
                    3. Givemeonereason

Pick Three  4,6,7,9,10 with 1,5,6,9,13 with 6

Race 5           Six Furlong Claimer 8K

     1. Light Of The Star 2. Dream Afleet  3. Squeeze Me Tight

      Long Shot ( Popular Date)

Race 6           Five Half Maiden 32K
A tough race with a number of first time starters in this sprint to the wire.  Certainly Certain has been struck at this level but has tactical speed and a edge with experience over this field. Courtside posted a respectable speed number gets the rail and is a player today! For a first time starter I like Ron McAnally Sugarintheevening looks live first time out! Basic Strategy looks like a runner teaming up with P-Val and Miller ............. P-Val is heating up and just winning lately and had three wins yesterday.

      1. Sugarintheeevening  2. Courtside  3. Certainly Certain

 Pick three 1,6, 8 with 1,5,7  with 1

Race 7           Five Furlong Turf Optional Claimer Allowance

The  race scenario looks like speed and more speed in this race. I vision a hot contested fast factions on the lead at the quarter and half mile pole....... Separate Forest pedigree suggest she will love the turf and she might just be this good.... maybe a star only time will tell us and it will be fun watching her today!

1. Separate Forest a good looking filly. I watch her video of her maiden race.  She blew away the field at the dirt track in Santa Rosa by  11 lengths and look at that Beyer speed number of 94 is the highest number in this field. Turf for the first time but Richard Mandella is a hall of fame trainer. A Major Player if she takes to the turf like a duck to water!

2. Yankee Romance has speed but this group of runners are tougher then her win against 50k restricted to only 3 year old.

3. Paleo won in a 3 year old restricted race for 50k. She has been off since March and sports a modest work out tab. Her trainer and owners entered her into Stake company........ take a long look at this one......

4. Easy Ashley has five wins and is 11 for 13 in hitting the board....... she fires every race and looks like and acts like a pro! She has been running at the N1x level.......... for quite some time... so maybe a drop will help her out! She is coming back from back East to face a easier group then she has face in some time! A Major Player!

5. Win For M'Lou been off since May and tries the turf for the first time. Craig Dollase knows horses! A filly who broke her maiden up north and ships down to try the turf and harder company. She gets the kool aid test for class. She did race in the railbird and the waters were way too deep for her........ these waters are definitely better for her...... A long shot look and I like her to hit the board at big odds!

6. Punctual ...... I can hear the trainer tell P-Val to send her to the lead........ the speed of the race and you will have to catch her to win this race.

7. Pink Diamond is a horse I have followed after getting claimed for a great price of only 8K. If the speed melts down at the top of the stretch Pink Diamond will have first crack at the pace leaders.

     1. Separate Forest  2. Pink Diamond  3. Win For M'Lou

Race 8           Five Half Maiden 32K

I hate to sound like Chalk Charlie today but Dime might be the favorite adds blinkers and the connections usually  have them fit and ready to fire second race out... Acouple of first time starters look live ............Gnarly Dude and Final Answer both look live to me in the final race. Mi Alma for the cagey trainer Kitchingman and Victor takes the mount. I love the breeding by Yes It's True....

    1. Mi Alma
