SUNDAY AT FAIRPLEX

I had a good day with some of my picks! I will update the bank later......... but still in the black and improving which is always a good thing to do....... grinding a positive profit at Fairplex.... The late pick four for 50 cents I hit a couple of days ago really helped out the ROI.

Race 1           Six Furlongs Maiden 32K

Cynical Wager showed speed his last race and got beat at the wire. He draws inside and gets The King! Big Bad Boo has run with better company. This is his second start off a lay off. He has a blow out over this track and all systems indicate "Go"! Bobby N' Paradise draws the rail and looks like he should be closing on the speed. It's Superman is taking a class hike today. He fits with speed numbers and if he can break cleanly he is a contender!

        1. Big Bad Boo 2.Bobby N' Paradise 3. It's Superman

Race 2           Four Furlongs Claimer 20K

Grand Topper shortens up and drops in class coupled with the fact that he has speed to be on the lead or sit right off the lead to win this four furlong sprint.  Towser trained by Mike Harrington looks like the one to fear! He draws the rail and Martin takes the call. Elusive Moment gets the outside post position with Santiago in the irons....... he is a player!  Seeuat Sticknstein takes the hike to 20K. He looks fit and can win this from off the pace...... A wide open race!

            1. Grand Topper

Pick Three    3,4   with  2,6,8 with 2,3,4  ROI .30

Race 3           Four Furlongs Maiden 32K

Swiss A showed speed over the poly track.........trained by Adam Kitchingman and Martin Pedroza takes the call looms large as the 4 to 5 favorite.  Mandelieu has a start over the track finishing third....... I expect he will improve with a crafty jockey calling the shots. A Major Player at 12 to 1.   As for a first time starter.... beware of Score For Fun...... Stute and Matt hook up with this New Mexico Bred gelding.

        1. Score For Fun   2. Mandelieu   3. Swiss A

Race 4           Six Half Optional Claimer
A Plus Topper fired a dull comeback race over the turf at Del Mar. Check out his bullet work preparing for this race. The turf experiment is over and he switches back to a surface that he should relish. Island Run takes a double jump in class for a crafty trainer Jack Carava and the King takes the call. Lit'sgoodlookinggray is the horse for the course at Fairplex....... Earnednevergiven is the horse to fear if the speed melts down. He is even money which is somewhat puzzling!

Race 5           Four Furlongs Maiden 40K

I like the first time starter for Bob Baffert by Vindication which is breed to fire quick and bred for pure speed....... all systems looks like a go with Martin Pedroza taking the call. Timetobegone looks live! Jenny Jenny Emily has speed and do not sell her short. She shortens up and Valdez takes the call. Twisp is a Swiss Yolder filly and is bred to improve........... she is a major player! Unbridled Thoughts  with a second over this track should show major
 improvement...

            Pick three   8  with 2,4,8 with 4,5,6,7

Race 6           Six Furlongs Claimer 5K

Gotmymojoworkin drops to his lowest level to date. He has faced tougher customers but my main concern is one of fitness. Get Off The Sugar with a troubled start at Del mar has speed and coupled with the fact that he likes the bullring looms large at this low level. Souvenir Winner gets the outside post position but can speed to the lead without losing ground he need be .....veteran jockey will be calling the shots as Paul Atkinson takes the irons. Kbello fits with this field....... He has some back class and might be over looked by the public......... as live long shot!

Race 7           Six Half Maiden 25K

Warren's Moon just cannot break thru to the other side with a win. She will be the one to beat and gets Martin Pedroza. Marty Jones sends out Long Legged Lovely  who regress her last race. She has speed and can win this if she improves off her dull effort last race. Atta Girl a professional maiden makes today her 18th try......long over due to get her diploma. Isn't She Sweet with a clean break and she already has a race over this track looms to be the up setter long shot in this field.

Race 8           One Mile Sixteenth Optional Claimer

Jana Gail claimed her last race for trainer Hector Palma loves the distance. She gets Quinonez and looks live. She has ran with some quality older mares. I like her today at 6 to 1

Race 9           Six Furlongs Claimer 5K

Candy Coat bred for speed with favors the bullring with the King up is a player! Silver Valley Road trained by Michael Pierce with a limited stable has speed and can be close to Candy Coat gate to wire. Day With Desi a horse I pick at Hollywood  has speed with a race over this track might wake up here!

Pick Four 50 cents   8,9 with 1,2,3,4, 8 with  1,7  with 1,8

                              Cost of Ticket $20

Race 10         Six Furlongs Claimer 10K

Skippy Due just wins races at this level. He is looking at 4 straight if he can close on the rabbits today in this puzzler. Cajun Gent is quick and scary at this level of 10k claimers. My  Man Sumo looks like he might try to steal this race on the front end if they let him get a relax early lead. Bad Boy claimed for 12K makes his first start for Julio Canani........he looks to me to be the horse to fear on the drop to collect.

Race 11         Six Half Furlongs Barrette Juvenile

1. Clubhouse Ride....... by Candy Ride is getting more mature as the days goes by. I love the way he won at Del Mar closing on the speed. He should relish the distance.

2. War Pilot by War Front exits a key fast maiden race. A crafty barn trains this Mike Pender colt and Martin Pedroza takes the call! A Major Player!

3. Road Ready a two year old colt that wss sold for 300K is making his thrid start. The waters of the Del Mar Futurity or the surface of the poly track was not to his liking.......

4.Hollywodd Heist ran a excellent first race with the winner at quality colt....... then regress his second start....... still a maiden but has the pedigree and running style to close at this distance.

5. Including Gold should love the turf but this is not the turf. He has not been beaten yet! Maybe today!

6. He Be Fire N Ice.... still a maiden and others look better to me... but .....

7. Cash Michael .....hmm.... love the pedigree and Gryder jumps on....... I Like this one for a win...... he just might give Clubhouse Rule a ride for the money.

8. Wealtly Aviator  ..... looks live and closed like Silky Sullivan..... if the speed melts down he might be scary at the wire with David Flores taking this one for Art Sherman kid!  Beware...

9. Blingboy is a rabbit with a hard post position on the outside.

10. Phantom Love........would be a shocker!

Race 12         One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 5K

A wide open race!  Mr. Rancho Vista has 4 wins in ten starts makes him a player with Martin Pedroza up in the irons. Quarter Moon has back class and the deadly team of Stute and Matt hook up. Souvenir Slew drops from the Craig Lewis barn when he was eased to avoid that spill at Del Mar.......a contender today!

        1. Quarter Moon  2. Mr. Rancho Vista  3. Doggie Bear
