SATURDAY WHERE THE TURF MEETS THE SURF

Bank update: A Massive record Carry over in the Pick Six starts in Race 5...... Yesterday I hit 2 Pick three's ....... The first one ended when Timezone beat the 3 to 5 favorite Late Cuddy and paid $192 having $20 across the board.......
Minus the cost of ticket which was $24.... $192- $24=$168.... Timezone $20 across the board returned $266+$168=$434. Pick Four ticket cost $27 minus $434=$407....... I hit the Late Pick Three which cost $48....... Pick three returned $1,298 minus $48=$1250+$407=$1657...........BANK Friday was $1322 Plus the ROI of Friday's bet $1657....... $2979....... Great to get back on the beam ........

                         ****  Bank  $2979  ****

Race 1          Seven Furlongs Claimer 16K
Magnificent Blend looking for 4 straight and moves up one level....... a Major Player....... because of the lack of early pace. Afleet Deal claimed off a dull race....... U C Merced Two fits at this level.  I like Lit'sgoodlookingrey........ had to need the last race......blinkers go on and takes a drop that makes competitive. Seven Furlongs is a ideal distance for this late runner...... has back class and looks like this race he will be fit and cranked up for the big performance at odds of 10 to 1........ A Hunch Play.......

Pick three  cost of ticket $18-

Race 2          One Mile Windy Sands Stake
The speed horses Tropic Storm along with Aggie Engineer look to have the same running style pressing the pace. Tropic Storm coming back after two years ran a winning race getting nip at the wire. The pace scenario sets up for a closing with two front runners ...........If O'Neil has Informed fit and ready to rock and roll after eight months off the bench ........ just remember that he beat Rail Trip and Dakota Phone last year............ looms large and is a Major Player  if ready! Another closer who is fit and in form is Low Power Gear....... might be a class test in quality but has the perfect closing kick at the distance coupled with the news that this horse loves the poly surface which is the key to handicapping the main track...... Beware! The class of this race is Unusual Suspect who ran a excuse less dull Pacific Classic race but he has run races that would crush this field at the top of the lane........ at this level with the small field. My pick with generous odds at eight to one.....

Race 3          Five Half Maiden Special Weight

Dazzing Display in her first race was impressive running a respectable second. She exits a key maiden race in which 3 horses have come out of this July 25th race and won. A short price favorite and looms the one to fear. ZaZu a first time start has excellent work out tab....... looks live to me. The sire Tale Of The Cat sends out his baby Tales In Excess.  Beware of the Candy Ride filly Confectionist trained by Ron Mcanally and Corey takes the mount....... she has modest works in my concern but love the breeding....... just sends out winners....! A cool race because I like the breeding of Rockport Harbour and Yes It's True............ both sires who win early....But having said that  Dazzing Display tipped her hand in her last race and looms large to break her maiden today........ but there just might be a first timer starter with all the blue blood pedigree in this race.

Pick three $42-

Race 4          One Mile Turf Optional Claimer
A average field for this mile turf race........ hard to judge the import but I like how Spring Forth broke his maiden. He is bred for turf top to bottom gets P-Val who will hustle him out of the gate.... Seattle Ruler adds blinkers and might just be a head case but at this level is a player. Very Fair looks like he is at a proper level today........ No Twirling Candy or Goggles McCoy and should enjoy this average company........

      1. Spring Forth  2. Very Fair  3. Seattle Ruler

Race 5          Six Furlongs Claimer 25K
The start of the massive carry-over in the Pick Six......

The pace scenario looks like something like this....... Movie Duty is the speed of the speed and you need to catch her to win..... just won a starter allowance....... and now tackles 25K claimer.......... remember the condition of this race which is for 3 year old        fillies.......!  I like Movie Duty but if she falters then the rail horse  Marino's Promise which had a troubled trip her last race but only got beat by 2.......She was one of my picks her last race and needs clear sailing today for the bug boy and of course the start of the pick six. My long shot bomb is the outside horse from Golden Gate trained by a very cagey trainer  Lage Armando who sends out live horses to run at Del Mar!  Capellette is the name of the horse......She broke dead last in a 20K claimer race August 14th but was flying home late to run a respectable 3rd.......... tab for improvement if she breaks cleanly and the speed melts down.

       1. Movie Duty  2. Marino's Promise  3. Capellette

Pick Three  1,7,11 with 5 and 9 with 1,6,8 cost of Ticket $18

Pick Six  1,7,11 with 9 with 1 with 2,3 10 with 7,8 with 4

Race 6          Five Half Maiden Special Weight

For a small pick six ticket the single will be May Day Rose. For players playing a pick three will we try to beat her if we can.......

         1. May Day Rose 2. River's Mambo 3.Born Lucky

Race 7          One Mile Turf Claimer 50K
I was wondering when they might put Downhill Diva on turf and with added distance....... This race is a weird contentious race with horse dropping and off form...... a hard race to handicap. Remember this is for only three year old fillies.....Sky Chant has been my pick but can she run two alike...... seems to bounce...... and then improves... Bejarano goes to Dreamed To Dream saves ground and has run with better company...... adds blinkers which might just put her over the wire today. She has a nice ground saving rail position today...... She was not far off from Westwood Pride her last race and Westwood Pride was very impressive yesterday. Pulpit Magic draws the outside post and might lose ground going around the first tight turn on turf....... No Malibu Pier or Sandy Creeks looks like one of the ones...... not sold on her yet!

       1. Dreamed To Dream  2. Downhill Diva  3.Pulpit Magic

        Long shot  L'echanteresse

Pick Three   1  with  2,3,6,7,10 12  with  7 and 8
 cost of ticket $12

Race 8          Seven Furlongs Darley Debutante

Seven furlongs for 2 year old fillies is one of the signature races at Del Mar.

1. She'll Heir ran with three of today's rivals....... and the distance might not suit her ......

2. Wickedly Perfect is just that perfect and has not gotten beat yet..... She looked game and was awesome in the Sorrento Grade 3 race....... added distance here...... A  Major Player!

3. Tell A Kelly posted a big speed number and she looked great breaking her maiden over the poly track!

4. Righteous Rene the distance will suit her running style and I love her pedigree......... she still learning the game....... a live longshot!

6. Sugarinthemorning beat Cal Bred but posted the biggest speed number of this field........ gets P-Val.... much to like!

7. Avid was hammered like the coming of Seattle Slew...... love the pedigree and she is a keeper and Major Player here!

8. Rigoletta....... long odds but the plus is Dan Hendrick training method....... Mike Smith is up!

9. Gone Rebel a interesting almost two time winner...... and just might over run her odds at box car numbers.

10. A Z  Warrior loves her running style and the distance is ideal for her today...... Major Player!!!

12. Izshelegal...... looms the upsetter.... still a maiden but does not matter to me.... excellent pedigree with a trainer who gets them ready to fire!  Terry Knight...... a under rated guy with the babies!

    1. A Z Warrior  2. Izshelegal  3. Perfectly Wicked

      Long shot Tell A Kelly

Race 9          Six Furlongs Optional Claimer
Nextdoorneighbor has been off since March........... check out the works in the morning time........ fast and long......hard to tell how good he is..... a must use in your pick six ticket. Gallatin's Run broke his maiden over Black Coyote which finished 3rd yesterday and was well beat...... and Koolnquick could not beat 12K claimers.......... telling you the company Gallatin's Run has beaten and I bet will be overbet in this puzzler going six furlongs today...  A wide open race. Indian Firewater goes from route to sprint has tactical speed and the company he has faced is much better........ he beat Bulldoggey who won back East last weekend if I'm not mistaken........ anyway I like this horse today......Usurp is a closing horse that was claimed for 40K and has run with better and quite frankly beaten better!

Coin Flip  Indian Firewater and Usurp

Race 10        Seven Furlongs Maiden 25K
A hard distance to run at and this is the  low level bottom dwellers rounding out the pick six......... Magic Lantern ....route to seven furlongs angle and has tactical speed with a class drop........ make her a Major Player in a weak race....... Snovember has finished second at this very level. If she runs like this at seven furlongs she is a major contender. Princess Beau K has the ground saving rail and has run races that put her over the top....... My longshot is Michael Penders filly  Derby Memo....

          1. Magic Lantern  2. Snovember 3. Princess Beau K

           long shot look   Derby Memo
