OAK TREE AT HOLLYWOOD PARK THURSDAY

                                     Bank $500.00

Race 1        Six Furlongs Claimer 25K

The pace scenario on paper looks like a race with soft easy factions on the front end. Really Uptown looks like the speed on the front end. He just beat the same condition at Fairplex Park. He should get another good trip pressing a slow pace. He looks like the horse to fear. Mark Of A Warrior likes the cushion track coupled with the fact that his last race he needed makes him a threat on the front end. Legal Separation is making his third start after a lay off which usually translates into a big performance. He can sit off the lead and stalk the rabbits if need be or can be sent to the lead if Martin Garcia wants the lead. His call! A Player which might outrun his odds. Summers At Del Mar trained by Julio C. has taken a break to face easier company after his maiden win at Santa Anita. This gelding has faced tougher company and was not disgraced facing 50K claimers. Good news is he shortens up to make his move down the stretch today. I like the morning drills Julio has put into Summers At Del Mar. If his odds go higher then a good value bet would be on the place or win pools. A good bet tonight is the early 50 cent Pick Four!

    1. Summers At Del Mar  2. Really Uptown  3. Mark Of A W.

50 cent Pick Four   3,4,7   with 1,4,7 with 2,4,5,7 with 8
Cost of Ticket $- 18.00

$20 Across the Board  3

Race 2        Six Furlongs Maiden 25K
Harlan's Tune look good almost winning at Fairplex dispite being shuffled around then re-rallied on the outside. This field looks like a modest low level group. Harlan's Tune looms large as one of the ones to get there diploma. Stella Del Teatro gets the rail and adds blinkers for the first time. His first race sprinting on turf was his highest speed number race and he goes back to a distance that he should relish...... sprinting. He drops from maiden special weight to the bottom feeders gives me some concern as to his ability. In this modest field he is a major contender. Action In Motion might be a tad light on speed figures but he does have a asset and that is speed. His early running style helps out his chances. Le' Heat trained by Run em Abrams gets the bug boy and therefore gets weight off. His first race was at Santa Anita in January in a maiden special weight race on turf. He ran like he needed a outing. I respect a Unusual Heat gelding. Wild Hombre by Wild Again is trained by Doug O'Neil and look who's riding this first time starter Joel "Red Hot" Rosario. A Player if he is cranked up and fit to ride first time out.

      1. Wild Hombre  2. Harlan's Tune  3. Stella Del Teatro

Race 3        Six Half Furlongs Optional Claimer
This optional allowance claimer looks to be a two horse race on paper which as we all know does not fit into the picture at the end of the race. Don Tito a new face from Calder is trained by John Sadler. He was bought in Florida and has won two straight before moving to the West Coast. He has the highest Beyer speed number in this field but it all depends on the field of horses he beat at Calder. He has drilled a morning work out in a amazing 59 flat...... the best of the day at Hollywood. Beware! This is not a one horse race and a speedy classy 4 year old colt by Candy Ride looks like his main contender. Spaniard trained by Bob Baffert and ridden by his main jockey Martin Garcia looks and acts like this colt is the real deal. He ran a respectable race one back and almost beat Gota Go Win in the Pirate's Bounty Stakes race. A major contender to Don Tito!  Nikki'sgoldensteed is a speedy gelding that can be sent to the front or sit right off the pace and close. He is coming back from a lay off and shortens up in distance. Jack Carava claimed this horse back in May........... a player! A interesting closer who has the highest two year old numbers in this field is Classical Slew who on his best day can be at the winner's circle. Please do not take this horse lightly if he improves in his second start after his lay off.

    1. Spaniard   2. Don Tito  3. Classical Slew

Race 4        Seven Furlongs Claimer 10K
The last leg of the 50 cent Pick Four is this 10k claimer going a difficult distance of seven furlongs. Quoted looks to good to be true as really the only true speed horse in a field of plodders. It has been my experience as a handicapper that when something looks to good to be true....... usually the horse fades away at the wire. So Bad Boy a three time winner at the cushion track is a proven seven furlong horse. Bad Boy looms big time on the win end. Self Insured is not a win machine but he does like Hollywood. Waafi is the horse for the course in that his wins have came from this track. He looks to me off form but has been supported at the betting windows.

      1. Quoted  2. Bad Boy  3. Self Insured

       Long shot look  Waafi

Race 5        Six Furlongs Maiden Special Weight
The speed of the race might just be Finish Rich In NYC a front runner. In her second start she chased a fast pace and finished a respectable third being beaten only by one and a half lengths. A rabbit that might just not stop today. Givemeonereason is a slight head case filly but she has run races at you have to respect closing down the stretch. Walter Solis can get them straighten out and Victor Espinoza rides. Golden Nip finished a respectable third facing open company and now drops to Cal Bred company. Vladimir Cerin horses usually improve a ton second time out. Beware! My main concern is that he must catch and over take the speed horses. Too Much Xcitement  with a change in jockeys to P-Val should improve if she stays out of trouble. Bejarano goes to the barn of Marty Jones with the first time starter filly Hello Sugar by Cee's Tizzy. Tizzy babies usually need a race to fire there best performances. But Marty Jones has put some long works into her preparing her for this race. I like the long five and six furlong work outs she has displayed.

      1. Golden Nip  2. Finish Rich In NYC  3. Hello Sugar

Pick Three  1,3,6  with 1,4,5 with 2,10
Cost of Ticket $18.00
$20 Place on Finish Rich In NYC

Race 6        One Mile Eighth Turf Allowance
Oak Kye Why looks like the speed of the race and tells the field to  " Come Catch Me". Big Shot Syd broke his maiden race at Santa Anita at this very distance. He is coming off a lay off since April of 09.....in a highly rated allowance race where he flew at the wire to finish second. Janet Armstrong can gets them fit and cranked up to fire off a lay off. She employs P-Val to ride. I like the long series of six furlongs work out Big Shot Syd has displayed in the morning preparing himself for his first race since April of 09. He has a shot to win despite the year lay off.  Universal Peace was my choice his last race when he was stopped by traffic and then had a killer closing kick to finish second. This is a classic example of a horse who had trouble his last race and will be well backed by the public because of it. Sometimes it works out and sometimes the horse regresses. This might be the case with Universal Peace. But having said that he looms large on the win end if he can slightly improve and stay out of trouble. Blanc is red hot on the Hollywood turf. A contender on the win end.

     1. Big Shot Syd  2. Universal Peace  3. Oak Kye Why

50 cent Pick Four 1,4,5 with 2,10 with 3,5 with 1,4
Cost of Ticket $12

Race 7        Six Half Maiden Special Weight

Chapman's Peak by Chapel Royal ran well in his first start. He is trained by John Sadler and Joel Rosario rides. He has the look of the colt to fear down the stretch. Rachel's Moon a gelding by A.P. Indy ran in the same race as Chapman's Peak but had a troubled trip. If Chapman's Peak improves off his first race the field might be running for second. Mr. Charlie has run races that makes him a contender. he is a bit of a head case and it's hard to judge what Mr. Charlie might do here. A interesting live long shot is the colt who ran with Chapman's Peak and Rachel's Moon. Duplo Rapido which means in Spanish Double Fast! He had trouble his first race and has a look that he just might out run his odds. As for any monsters who are first time starters Magic Burn looks live off the series of long and I say this again long work outs that Bruce Headley has put in this gelding for his first race.

     1. Chapman's Peak  2. Magic Burn  3. Duplo Rapido

Race 8        Six Furlongs Turf  Senator Ken Maddy H.

The $100,000 six furlong turf sprint race is the opening day feature.

1. Alpha Kitten ......... Tale Of The Cat is trained by John Sadler and she makes her first start on turf today. She is bred top to bottom for the turf. She has hit the board in 7 out of her 8 starts. She has tactical speed and the rail to save ground and figures to be forwardly placed from the first sound of the bell. A Major player who gets a weight break because of the high weight of Unzip Me.

2. Minute Limit......... She race a respectable second to Unzip Me...the distance might and I say might just be a tab bit short. She a quality filly that can close from right off the pace. A minor award!

3. Unzip Me.......... the speed of the race. She is the top high weight in 124 pounds. This is her last race in preparing for the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint. She loves to sprint and is the one to fear!

4. Reba Is Tops...........by He's Top has run good in her previous turf sprints at Hollywood. She had to need her last race at Del Mar after a seven month lay off. Her best today can win this sprint race. She need to step up big time!

5. Bonifaco............. if the speed rabbits falter at the wire..... She has a killer closing kick that can fly by this field and win......... if she is right in the mind and body as being fit and ready I would not be surprise if she won this race. The race needs to fall into places for her to win........ but with the speed in this race it just might set up perfect for her today.

6. Dotsy Jean..........a class act! She is the old timer of the race and has put together a excellent 2010 year in career wins and earnings. Marty Jones trains and Mike Smith takes the call. She has gas and both tactical speed to make her scary down the stretch. A Player!

7. Terrify......... a 4 year old filly that gets the Kool Aid Acid test on class..... She seems to be a cut below this fillies and mares!

8. Czechers........look has a touch of back class and this mare if fit and ready to run can flat out win this race. She has run races with the best mares and fillies in the county. Look and Listen Unzip Me only beat her by one and half lengths the last time both faced off! She can turn the tables on her....... the proof is in the pudding as the saying goes!

9. Waveline........ I love how she looked winning her race at Del Mar. She needs to put that performance into this race. She is a classy mare that I respect........ a live long shot to beat Unzip Me or the Kitten........

        1. Unzip Me  2. Bonifaco  3. Czechers

Race 9        Six Half Furlongs Claimer 12K

I like Thomas Bell 4 year old filly Salty Sarah to win this race. She gets off the turf and quite frankly has run with better company. She has gas and shortens up for this come back race. The fact that she has put together two excellent morning drills indicates that she will fire her best race tonight hopefully under the lights. Blanc know her well. The down side is she is not a win machine but who is in this field. Entabeni is the horse that I fear the most therefore I might add her to my late 50 cent Pick Four! My Long Shot horse is the filly on the rail Shantika's Dream......... has a look of a live filly tonight under the lights.

         1. Salty Sarah   2. Entabeni    3. Shantika's Dream
