Bank $603 .....minus late pick three $564 .....hit early pick three paid $490 minus $30 $460 +$564= $1024 ROI on $500 is $1524.... Bank on Thursday 8-26-10 $1024 A big one day Pick Six carry over fits the bill........ the pick four paid 11K for a fifty cent ticket. A great value and fun way to have the small bettors like myself dream of hitting the big one.......Always dream is the theme!!
Race 1 One Mile Claimer 16K
You Can Dream might be that horse sent to the lead...... she usually fades like a cheap suit down the lane. Pass with Dream! Jettie Ann get P-Val and does have cheap speed. But having said that she is looking for the hat trick today. No monster horses in this bottom feeder! Look to the Sky has a troubled trip by the bug boy having been steadied down the back stretch. Jack Carava claims her and look who takes the irons.... Rafael Bejarano will close down the lane with her. A Player in a somewhat scramble. Tripped the Light fits w on pace and speed numbers. She ships in from No Cal having been freshen up since early June. A Player! A interesting mare who has been competitive at a higher level is Jane Gail...... she is not a win machine but has the perfect tactical speed to take this one. Tab her to run big.... As for the rail horse Acute Velocity hangs like a cheap suit and collects feed and rent money to pay her way. One positive note is she did have trouble her last race and gets the ground saving rail today. Steve Knapp cannot find a winning slug in his stable......What is the losing record at Del Mar for a trainer.... 0 for thirty and counting! Burrrrrrr!...... I'm rooting for him...... and I have back some of his horses that he sends out.
1. Jane Gail 2. Look To The Sky 3. Tripped The Light
Pick Three 2,4,6 with 1,3,7,8 with 5 Cost of Ticket $12
$20 Place on 4
$20 Daily Double Jane Gail with Attar Of Rose
Race 2 One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 25K Turf
Hidden Romance is likely the rabbit today. She is dropping from 32K claimer and adding more distance then she might like. She will take this field as far as she can go.! I vision her getting pass down the stretch. Justice Is Brief had to need her last race. If she is a horse that can run back to her last year race numbers, she will crush this field. That is the question to answer is the fitness and soundness of AC's horse Justice Is Brief.......Attar Of Rose looked great winning her maiden turf race. I expect her to be fit and ready to run a big race by trainer K. Mulhall today...... Powerofvoodoo has been a disappointment because I thought she was going to climb the class ladder rather quickly which she has not......... she hangs like a wet noddle down the lane. My Aunt Fanny will be finishing and does her best running down the stretch....... she fits in this weird turf race routing at one mile and a sixteenth..........
1. Attar Of Rose 2. Justice Of Brief 3. My Aunt Fanny
Race 3 One Mile Claimer 8K
This race scenario is filled with one style speed rabbits all contesting for the lead. It just might set up for a mid pack horse to close down the stretch. It looks like Sunny peace is spotted for action today having speed and tactical speed if need be for the team of Knapp and P-Val. Humble Maggie Go takes off blinkers and the O'Neil team can sit off the pace stretching out to 2 turns. Maggie fits with the pace numbers and speed figures. Saint Cindy fits in this wide open affair if Sunny Peace is not cranked up and fit........... Sunny Peace race to win or lose! Steve Knapp is shooting blanks in the win column.....
1. Sunny Peace 0 for 40 ....... boy.... $61K down the tubes
Race 4 Seven Furlong Maiden 40K
One of the hardest distance to win coming off a long year lay off is seven furlongs. This gem of information a old timer told me when I was a kid. Today I will disregard that advice and take the come backer Forward Committment. He tried this once before at 40K and ran 3rd but I like his last 4 work outs and quite frankly there really is no monsters to fear in this wide open affair. Derrick Do is the one to catch and with P-Val he will send this horse and tell everyone "Catch Me If you Can.".......
1. Derrick Do 2. Forward Committment
Pick Three 2,4,9 with 2,5,6 with 1,2
Race 5 One Mile Turf Maiden Special
I like the favorite Cayanna and would be my single on my Pick Six ticket and just might throw in Family Plan with the turf pedigree of Roberto and Relaunch.......
1. Cayanna 2. Family Plan. Lemon Drop Ridge
Pick three 2,5 with 1,2,3 with 6
$20 Daily Double 5 with 2
Race 6 Seven Furlong Optional Claimer
No reason not to jump on the band wagon with Thomas Banes. I pick him as my top pick his last race and just blew by Mike Smith' horse down the stretch. Tab him for a repeat! My dark horse who gets off the turf and runs better at this distance and surface is Mr. Tokoyo.....
1. Thomas Banes 2. Mr Tokyo
$20 Place on Mr Tokyo (1)
Pick three 2 with (all) with 3,11
Race 7 Five Furlong Optional Claimer 25K
A five furlong sprint optional claiming for Cal-Bred guys in for 25K tag is the condition in this excellent betting race.
1. Danzing Tribal runs from off the pace and the pace scenario today has plenty of fast factions on the front end. It seems to me that there are only 2 horse that has the racing style to sit off the pace....... this one has the perfect pace to race at today! A Major Player!
2. Blue Jay Attack trained by Marty Jones broke his maiden in a fast good looking maiden breaker of a race. He switches to the turf and just might surprise as he will out run his odds...... much to like.
4. Connagher has big speed numbers and is looking for his third win........ the speed monkey's will hammer this horse down.....
6. A Plus Topper the horse to fear on the lead with the inside horse Connagher and might just not give it up so lightly down the lane at five furlongs.
7. Regan Rublican a Golden Gate shipper who ran a respectable race at Hollywood in the Grey memo......... he pulled his way thru the back stretch and then was steadied ....... love the big speed numbers and do not take this one lightly ........This six year old is one tough dude!
8. Detroit Danny others looks better to me......... Pass!
9. Shadows Of Illinois one day might wake up and run that he did last year and everyone will be running for second place........looks like he just might be fit and ready for this sprint.... A major contender!
Race 8 Five Half Furlong Maiden 32K
Lake Beleive drops for the check as Joel Rosario stays aboard for Peter Miller........ I always give Hendrick's a long look with second time starters and The Zapana fits this bill. Banana Cream Pie out of the Stadler barn with P-Val taking the mount catches my eye. Brazzle Dazzle tries claimers for the first time dropping out of maiden special weight. I love the breeding on a first time starter Dear Marie........ and she has the pedigree and works to upset Lake Beleive.
1. Lake Beleive 2. Dear Marien 3. The Zapana
