Race 1         Six Furlong Claimer (32K)
This is a tough contentious race kicking off the first race. All Man just wins races and today moves up a level after winning his last 2 races at Hollywood. Quick Enough trained by Ron Ellis has been sided lined for 15 months. Ellis usually has them fit and ready cranked up for a big  performance. Quick Enough has back class and sports big speed numbers to take care of this field. The question today is all about fitness and he tackles a genuine and consistent sprinter with All Man. Hewitts just might be the speed of the race. He drops from the 50k ranks and enters a level that he won 2 races back. He beat Spirit of Concise which is one bad dude in the claiming ranks. He is a major player. Dark and Deep drops out of allowance company today. He beat Gotmymojoworking in the race and almost beat Best Mon who ran yesterday in a salty 50k claiming race and finished a respectable second. Please do not take D and D lightly....... I expect he should show more speed down the lane. Tribal Justice shortens up today has back class with strong speed figures to be a contender!




Race 2         One Mile Optional Claimer
Nicole H trained by David Hoffman returns to a surface she runs best on. I just have a hunch that she primed for a big performance. Mandel looks like the one to beat!




Race 3         One Mile Turf Claimer (50K)
Asperity tried a different tactic his last race and sprinted to the lead. The tactic did not work but I think this race if he sprint out on the lead not many horses in this field will go with him. It might just work this race. Winston Charm might be position right off the pace. If there is a speed melt down Get Funky looks tough today in that his last race he beat Best Mon and Position A who won yesterday. Can he put two wins back to back.... or regress like he seems to do sometimes.


Race 4         Five Half Furlong Maiden Special Weight
 I made Pedaltothemetal my single in my last leg of my pick three on turf at Hollywood.  If he takes to the Poly Track he is my Pick. But this race looks like there are some first time starters coming out of the barns of both Baffert and Hollendorfer. Pacific Pride has fast works and looks live!

Race 5           Six Furlong Claimer (12K)
 I like Thunder and Ice who today shortens up to six furlongs. I hope he can go against the stat's and be the first winner at Del Mar from gate to wire. I would not quit my day job or hold your breath when he comes down to the wire.





Race 6         California Dreamin' Stakes
 Acclamation and Bold Chieftain looks like the horses one must fear down the stretch. I like Triumphant Flight for a upset!

Race 7         Six Furlong Optional Claimer
The pace scenario looks to be hot and fast up front on the lead. I like two horses New Believer which looks to close on the speed. Afleet Ruler at 4 to 1 is good value betting odds and has a strong kick down the stretch.  Both of these horses look fit and in good form.

Race 8         San Clemente Grade 2

 Today's Feature Race is at One Mile on the Turf for 3 year old fillies and it looks very contentious and competive.
Crisp a grade one winner on the synth track and found the turf to her liking her last race. Her grass debut she was last the first half then closed on slow fractions and almost be It Tiz down the stretch.
Fortunia has strong speed numbers but I'm taking a stand against her today. Weekend Magic shortens up today and ran a respectable race in the American Oaks with fast factions behind Harmonious.
Switch forgive me here but switches to a new surface and she must be considered because she beat Blind Luck and looked awesome doing it! Evening Jewel almost a three time Grade Winner and she has proved that she handle the Turf. The one to beat today! If you throw out City To City's last race which seems to have no excuse she will have a saydown the final furlong.  It Tiz starts her first graded race today. She has tacitcal speed and the distance suit her running style. She's 2 for 2. A third time might just be the charm! Repo is a interesting turf play with In Excess on the turf which does good. The outside post will do her no flavors today but I think she might just out run her odds.

Race 9         Five Half Furlong Maiden Special Weight
I like two horses today and this race seems to me a semi weak bunch of state-breds going fice and a half furlong on the main poly track. Classy Bobby and He Be Fire N Ice our my two picks and like the Ice over Classy but might just be a coin flip.
