RACE 5 61⁄2 Furlongs. (Turf) TMClm 25000
Hard to trust this field........take lightly......... Red Livy trained by Phil D'Amato broke her maiden over this tricky course.......drops big time in class........she will be pushing the front end today.......she gets a good post..... I like the fact that she goes route to sprint here. Both Wonderful Lie and Not Too Shiny will get most of the money at the windows.......Not Too Shiny get a fast pace to close at........Wonderful Lie gets the rail.........a concern but she looks spotted to run a winning race if she can overcome the post. Comealongwithme moves back to the turf.......look who re-rides after a poor performance last race in May.......She comes back fresh and gets a speedy pace to close at........beware!
1. Wonderful Lie (WON)
2. Not Too Shiny
3. Red Livy (PLACE)
Long shot Comealongwithme
RACE 6 6 Furlongs. ‘Mdn 50k Purse $50,000 FOR CALIFORNIA BRED OR CALIFORNIA SIRED MAIDENS, FILLIES TWO YEARS OLD.
A wide open 2 yr. old filly maiden race........Bella Style just ran around the course with Bejarano riding in her debut..........she was well bet in her debut.......Look who stays put Bejarano.........trainer is 30 % with a race under her belt.......beware! Carrie's Success is the luke warm favorite after finishing second in her debut.....this daughter of Successful Appeal was three and a half lengths clear of third...........any move forward she will be dangerous........Lucky Lula has speed and finished behind Carrie's Success in her debut. Helen's Tiger and My Claw both have the look as contenders........ Cassidy looks to have a live first time starter XS Gold..........Victor is Cassidy main man.......when Victor rides the horse is usually live.....
1. Carrie's Success (PLACE)
2. Bella Style
3. XS Gold
Long Shot Songofthedesert
RACE 7 6 1⁄2 Furlongs. (Turf) Alw 51000n1x
The speed of the speed looks to be Mr. Vargas........gets weight off as Roman rides this dude........come catch him if you can...........At Del Mar he ran on the turf.......a talented maiden field. His last race at Los Al he won by four in a highly rated final time. Pace makes the race.....if Vargas does not hold on the final half furlong.......then look who will be drafting behind the speed. Anatolian Heat has won on this course......He just won going five and now stretches out........Beware! Cheekaboom boom likes this set up.......has two second down the hill.......He will be closing strong along with Trifecta......Swinging Star did break his maiden on this course........a highly rated race beating Kimbar and Ritzy A.P........He will be flying home late ...He will need some racing luck and a very fast pace which it looks like he will get.......Swinging Star should be much tighter this time around. Gary Stevens rides Mucho Chrome who has run in some maiden special weight foes who are future stars......He will be overlooked at the windows.....but like Swing Star he will be closing late........
1. Mr. Vargas (PLACE)
2. Anatolian Heat (WON)
3. Mucho Chrome
Long shot Swing Star
RACE 8 6 Furlongs. ‘MC 50000 Purse $28,000 FOR CALIFORNIA BRED OR CALIFORNIA SIRED MAIDENS
Close To Midnight sired by Midnight Lute bred by Harris Farms.........ran when he was two years old........above average speed figures for a 2 yr. old.............now three he has been training solid for trainer Craig Lewis........Lewis has strung together six workouts for his comeback race. Martin Pedroza re-rides him..........looks live to me and gets a good outside post for the night cap.........love the morning line 12 to 1......... He drops from state restricted maiden special weight to maiden claiming...........Let's bet this one as a good long shot play.
1. Close To Midnight (Long shot play of the day)
2. Rmainie's Grey Suit
3. Decarchy Dawn
