ONE WINNING SANTA ANITA PICK SIX TICKET PAYS WHOPPING $277,652.40; ‘SINGLETON’ WAS PURCHASED AT HOLLYWOOD PARK CASINO FOR $672.00
With a Pick Six carryover of $68,569 from Sunday fueling a total Pick Six pool on Thursday of $459,942, there was just one winning ticket today at Santa Anita and it paid a whopping $277,652.40. The lone winner was purchased at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood for $672.00.
As the horses went to the gate for the eighth and final race on Thursday, a one mile turf maiden special weight for 3-year-olds and up bred or sired in California, there was just one “live” horse in the Pick Six, number three, Anatolian Heat.
Off as the second choice at 7-2 in a field of nine runners, the 3-year-old gelding by Unusual Heat won by 2 ½ lengths. Ridden by Martin Garcia, he paid $9.60 to win. Owned by his breeder, Anatolia, Inc., he is trained by Peter Miller.
