UPDATE FRIDAY MORNING
RACE 1 ONE MILE 16 G CLAIMING RACE
Ike Walker faced older foes in his last race where he dropped down in class and showed speed got nip at the wire........lost a heartbreaker at this level.......Key is he faces his own age group..........If he repeats that performance he should be at the winners circle at this race.......Another key is first off the claim and Talamo and Belvoir win with this trainer and jockey combo.
Bejarano rides Doyouknowsomething........He finish a decent second restricted to non winners of two........claimed out of that race.......good strong pedigree as he shortens up to a mile....can draft right behind the speed.....Major player I expect.......
Doug O'Neil is red hot at this meet.......He trains Papa Kade who drops in class switches to the dirt where he has won on this surface......has three wins the most in the field.......Prat who is one of the best jockeys I have seen in some time.......rides! Beware!
Tiz Jolie is a horse that I think can win this race......A good pedigree that has been facing tougher class levels then this drop........Bill Spawr looks to drop him down to a levewl where he has a legititmate chance to take down this group. He won a 40 G claimer and has produce performances in the past with good speed numbers to make him very live for a win........I expect his odds to float up higher when the pool opens up ........do not take him lightly..........
1. Tiz Jolie PLACE
2. Ink Walker WON
3. Doyouknowsomething
Long Shot Papa Kade
RACE 2 ONE MILE MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT
Treasuring exits a highly regarded maiden race.........She bred to like the added distance around two turns.........Her brothers and sisters are stake winners.......excellent family pedigree........Baffert looks to have a keeper.......after flying home getting a trouble trip at the start of her debut.........She could not get to Songbird who was a filly that we will see next month in a stake race..........Baffert has strung together five fast works after her debut........nice long drills and fast long work..........
1. Treasuring
2. Shakti
3. Jade Princess WON
Long Shot Wake The Dream
RACE 3 ONE MILE NON WINNERS OF THREE
Never trust non winners of three..........on paper Sinfully who ran poorly in a state restricted 32 G claimer on sod............might have bounced or lost ground when he walked out of the gate.......He runs on the turf and runs strong on a wet surface but still is unproven on the fast dry dirt track.......I expect he will run strong........His race to win or lose.........hot at the claim box but do not like the quick drop in class.......If his wheels did not come off........He is a major player.
Test Ride at age three was a horse on my watch list.......He came out early and broke his maiden with high speed numbers for three year olds........He beat He's A Bling and some nice allowance horses in his win over this track last year........Michael Pender trains him........now at age four he runs like he needs more ground.......one mile is the right distance for him.......His last race was bad.......but he was steadied twice.......first at the opening of the gate then down the back stretch...........He has enough speed to draft behind this field.......plenty of speed types in this race.........It is a long shot play to put him on top but I hope the added distance will wake him up......he needs a clean start.
1. Okaad
2. City State WON
3. Sinfully
Long Shot George's Main Man
RACE 4 FIVE FURLONG TURF CLAIMING 40 G'S
Zucker trains Bosserette a four year old filly that drops into this claiming race first time in for a tag........Her last race she ran a good prep after more then a year off........Zucker is a trainer that can get them ready to fire second time out........Her running style is a horse that comes off the pace......She has plenty of speed to run at.........I expect Bosserette to be more on the muscle as she was a horse that needed a race under her belt.......Talamo takes the call.........like the morning line of 10 to 1.........
Mark Of A Gem comes back quick after running in a Stakes race The Daisycutter at Del Mar. she should like this claiming field..........
Pearle De Verde did not take to the dirt.......She is a turf horse and gets back to the surface that she likes,,,,,,,,,,,,I like her running style...drafting behind the speed then when the real racing begins.......kicks clear.......She is a bit of a hanger and does not pass horses.........she has more seconds and thirds then wins but Tab the switch to Bejarano who knows how to put her in a position to get the most out of her........
Sweet Profit exits a highly regarded allowance race...........She is in current sharp form and gets Prat to rides........watch out........
A wide open grab bag for the late pick 4........many contenders and few pretender's.
1. Bosserette
2. Pearle De Verde
3. Sweet Profit
Use Mark Of The Gem in late pick four if u want to!
RACE 5 FIVE HALF FURLONG 80 G MAIDEN CLAIMING
Miller is in the hunt to get the trainers title with O'Neil........Hank The Tank a first time starter.....bred to be fast and bred to win quickly.......Son Of Summation has be training over at Fall Brook with quick drills in the morning........Miller and Garcia fire quick with FTS's.
