THURSDAY'S FREE PLAY

Today Handicapper's Corner is focusing on Friday and Saturday Breeder's Cup races. Not so much on Santa Anita's Thursday card.........but I have given a short look at race nine........a very short look.

RACE 9

Heat Trap looks this downhill tricky turf course and on paper might be the one to beat. She has the perfect running style for this course.........Victor knows her well as he has three wins with her. Tribal Spy and Go West Marie exits the same stake race as Heat Trap who
beat these horses. Pace might make this race as Home Journey trained by Puype sends out the speedy filly who ran like she needed a race........she got that race and know switches to the money man Smith.........She looks like the one to catch........she will try to steal this race if no one goes with her. A under-achiever that I thought would be a keeper but has run in races that were over her head is Wittgenstein.......I have thought that she is not a router but a sprinter and six and half furlongs is her distance to see how talented she is if she is. She switches from the O'Neil barn to the barn of Mora who has been hot this season at Santa Anita. She drops in class after a Grade 1 prep on the dirt and shortens up in distance.........She will need her A game to hit the board but I expect her double digit odds might be a good bet to bet her to place or show..........
