CLOSING DAY FOR THE SUMMER MEET AT DEL MAR

RACE 1


One mile and a sixteenth for Cal Breds maiden special weight open up to fillies and mares and up.


ANALYSIS

All the top contenders have exits the same race.......Pace will make this race as it looks like there is plenty of early speed types horses going long. Lethal Story is making her 18th start as she is trained by Barry Abrams and the distance fits her profile. She pulled Trujillo all around the track ans did not seemed to rate in her last race.......The good news is that she is a closer and not a pure speed type. Tab the switch to one of the best turf jockeys at this meet.......Corey Nakatani!

Susan B Good a four year old filly has the right closing style to maker her dangerous down the lane......Trained by O'Neil she is making her 9th start with one second and a third. The bad news is she has not beaten Three Blondes when she has ran against her.

I expect that Three Blondes will get a lot of betting action because I re-watch her last race and she did not give up down the lane. She was very game getting second. This five year old mare has four seconds and a third in her ten starts. Bejarano re-rides her and knows her well! Watch out for her if she can rate off the pace......my concern is the distance.......

The X Factor long shot is Flowinwiththrbreez making her second start after a horrible debut with trouble after the gates open.......She is a blue blood against this modest field of Cal Bred.......She faced a big field in her debut a walked out of the gate taking her out of that race........She is bred to relish this distance and relish the turf. I like the fact that the trainer hikes her up in class and blinkers go on for the first time.......I expect she will outrun her odds and be overlooked by the bettors........might not be a reasonable thing to do!

RACE 2     PIRATE BOUNTY'S STAKES


Six furlongs for three year old's and up.......on the main track!

ANALYSIS

Seeking The Sherif almost beat Golendcents in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby......He is the real deal and lightly race for a five year old gelding trained by Ron Ellis......His record is outstanding........Nine starts with six wins a second and a third......Outstanding talented game gelding who is the one to beat!

The Kent brother have Bulldozer who is razor sharp and gets the acid test trying to beat Seeking The Sherif........the interesting horse that when he was two years old was one of the best two year old's on this circuit.......Heir Of Power I have not given up on him......He needed his last race which was a comeback race and he ran like a horse that needed a race under his belt. He press fast factions before fading to sixth place, But take note he was in that race till the last furlong and was only beat by three and a half lengths......With a prep race since March I expect Peter Miller will have him cranked up this time around.....I would not be surprise if he gave Seeking The Sherif a run for his life......Victor re-rides him again... No Silent trained by Gary Mandella has a horse that last year beat a highly regarded race at this track......He likes this track and the trainer and jockey combo is hot......Mandella and Bejarano team up which is his main man!

RACE 3

One mile and a eighth on the all weather track at the claiming price of 16 G's.....open up for fillies and mares!


ANALYSIS    CONTENTIOUS RACE!

Friendly Banter was claimed by O'Neil and is the sharpest horse in this race........seeking the hat trick today.......I think it is a good sign that Doug held him out of jail and now hikes him up in class after beating 12 G claimer's. I was impressed that he love this track and when he closed turning for home he mowed down that field finishing first and running with full of run. He has won four of his five starts........beware!

Fighter Squadron claimed for 20 G's by Hess and two races back gave Dress Code all he could handle.......that was against much better foes then what he faces today.......Hess and Kent have been red hot as a trainer and jockey combo.......The drop in class is no concern to me.


Thirtyfirststreet when he was fit is a scary horse......He has back class running against much better horses then what he faces today.......He has the right stalking style to sit right behind the rabbits and mow them down.......He has been on my watch list and finally the trainer has put him in a race where he can win. Philip D'Amato is having a good meet this year at Del Mar......He puts back the blinkers on him to have him more focus.....do not dismiss him for outrunning his odds.....morning line is (6 to 1).........Gryder knows him well......

Graeme Crackerjack was claimed for this price.....He split that field after stalking the rabbits.......then in June Tim Yakteen held him out of jail and does drop him.......He has both class and back class and might be dangerous and overlooked by the bettors at the windows today!

Tiznow Or Then adds the blinkers and it's now or never for this interesting live long shot...Ellis has put him in a race when he has a very good chance to outrun or even win this contentious wide open grab bag of a race.......I love his last six furlong work.......very fast.......and skips over the poly track......and very positive sign........ with tells me that he is ready to run a big performance with JR riding him.

Bardy trained by Hess hold a hot hand in this race......He likes this distance and is bred to hand the added distance....He cuts back in distance and I really like how he can stalk and wait till the real racing begins.......when this field turns for home.......do not dismiss him!

Barney Rebel at 20 to 1 is a interesting live long shot......He was trained by Dan Blacker who I really respect as a up and coming trainer.......He is now trained by a sneaky trainer Geraro Vallejo who knows how to get them ready......and places and horse in races that they have a very goof chance to win.......Steiner rides him.......third start off a lay off and he likes this surface as he finished a very strong second......morning line is 20 to 1......

RACE 4    CERF  STAKES


A sprint stake race for fillies and mares on the poly track!




ANALYSIS

On past performance the horse to beat is Reneesgotzip who has won three races and a third in four starts over this track.....That means that he loves this poly surface and is the horse to beat.....His draw back is the rail.....and I expect the other jockey will try to pin in down along the rail........

Top Kisser I have thought that she would climb the class ladder and be one of the top mares on this circuit......She has been somewhat a disappointment to me......She runs better as a miler then a top sprinter but on her best day can give Reneesgotzip all she can handle.......great connections.........Hall Of Famer Hollenddofter and Elvis team up.......where is Bejarano......He re-rides a horse I pick in her last race but she was unlucky breaking slow the flew home full of run trying to to the winner at the wire....She was just getting into over drive after the wire.....She should have won that race but after a bad start it was hard getting to the winner Living The Live. Richard Baltas is a under rated trainer that gets the most out of his horses then many trainers on this circuit!  Tom Proctor has a very interesting five year old mare from France...Her name is Belle De Lune........a excellent blue blood pedigree.........excellent connection bred by Glen Hill Farms and trained by Proctor and gets the jockey he brought along with him from back east.....the talent jockey Drayden Van Dyke.

ANALYSIS

Victor Garcia is one of the only trainers I have seen have a year off for more then a year and come back and win. He trains Tiz Snazzy........who ran June in 2013.........a long time ago. I love how he has strung together the works and the morning line is 12 to 1.........I like this one and will bet him!

One mile on the turf for two year old's......




ANALYSIS

Sadler might not get the trainers title but he has a live turf pedigree horse called Daddy D T.........He had a prep on the poly and now think Sadler has this race in mind......a son of Scat Daddy.........he gets the red hot Corey Nakatani to ride. When Sadler and Corey team up they are hitting at a 50 % win rate.

Both Dallas Skyline and Papacoolpapacool exits the same race where Dallas beat him.........I think Papacoolpapacool just might turn the tables on Dallas Skyline today.

 A two year old colt  that ran in a highly regarded race is Pioneer of The West.........

ANALYSIS

A wide open contentious talented dash for two year old's.........so take note.... Howard Zucker when he has a live horse uses Mike Smith.......Smuggler Union  bred in Florida has the pedigree to win first time out......His works and pedigree looks scary to me quick out of the gate.

Doug O'Neil sends out a FTS Stormy Liberal.......blue blood pedigree and Trujillo takes the call. I like the slow nice works and he too looks like a runner to me.

All Indians is fast and cuts back in distance.......He draws the rail but I expect he might be the one to catch.........

ANALYSIS


Bob Baffert has won the Del Mar Futurity too many times to mention......He sends out Holiday Camp.......sired by Street Boss......bred to be fast and quick and win early in there career. He was beaten by Wake Up Nick who we saw win this week........a typical Baffert works looks scary........ Baffert holds a hot hand as he has American Pharoah......sired by Empire Maker and he adds the blinkers on him today. Mark Casse exits a key race in the Best Pal........with Skyway........might be the one to fear........nice solid works.......looks scary to me.....Doug sends out Henry's Holiday should love the added distance.......the distance in the Best Pal looked too short for him......today it might be right up his alley.

ANALYSIS

 Stormy Adieu likes the poly track the race.......She ran a huge race in Chicago........Hollendofer and Bejarano team up on Definitely Not......would should have won her last race.....she had ton's of traffic problems getting clear and then it was too late to get to the winner........Racing Hope bred to be quick is sired by Dixie Union.......She looks scary first time out........Kent D takes the call for a very under rated trainer.......watch out!

ANALYSIS

Practising a horse that is coming back fresh for Patrick Gallagher.......last time I saw her run was in May.........She runs fresh after a lay off........great odds at 20 to 1........She is a blue blood that will be over- looked by the bettors .....

WELCOME BACK ALEX SOLIS........

Disregarded trained by Mulhall is another horse coming back fresh......She looks scary at this distance and has solid foundation in the morning time.......five to 1 is her morning line.

Love In The Desert needed her last race and look who rides Corey......the main turf man on the turf at Del Mar. Vanlose Stairway is best when she runs on the turf.......
