A sleepy card on a Easter Sunday.
RACE 1
A sprint for 12 G´s starts Easter´s card.....Look on paper Forest Souvenir is clearly the horse to beat.....If his wheels have not come off.......clearly the fastest three year old in this small field. Sunny Supersitition and Wise Guise both come back from lay offs. Sunny S trained by Doug O´Neil had speed at Del Mar in a key maiden race then step up to a starter allowance before going off the bench. Eswan rides is a major plus.....Wise Guise beat Sunny S at Hollywood in his maiden win.....He has speed . Gary Sherlock barn needs a win.....I like the fast five furlongs gate work. Rino U had trouble last race....He is in form and should get a good trip stalking the pace.
1. Forest Souvenir.....scary dropper
2. Wise Guise....can come out firing
3. Sunny S......
Longshot Rino U.....fit and in form
RACE 2
A cheap claiming sprint for four year olds but a tough little race. Hollendorfer claimed Storming Proud Papa.....He is strong off the claim....and look who climbs aboard Rosario....Hasty Trend beat him in his last start.....Hasty Trend yesterday did not do much when he raced against slightly higher company. I have picked Floating Feathers to win in the past.....He has been a underacheiver.....He nows drops big time for a win.....I like the bullet workout which suggest to me he might fire big time at this low level.
The pace looks to have Cutfast Ball should show the way....He will press the pace.....need to collar him turning for home. Three closers here Orbach who cuts back to a sprint....He runs better at this distance....player.....Bryan Daniel does his fly by..... a contender....and a horse I have like in the past Lime Rock Revenge.....He needs pace to run at.....This is his second race after a short layoff.....expect a much better performance.....and might be a good value bet here!
This is a good betting race to start the Pick Four!
1. Storming Proud Papa.....top billing
2. Lime Rock Revenge....closer
3. Floating Feathers
RACE 3
One mile of the turf in this first level allowance race. Baby Blake takes off the blinkers for Michael Pender. He has been knocking at this condition getting second in his last two races....should go the favorite at post time as he is the speed of the race.......long over due for a win. Cook Inlet claimed by O´Neil who has been red hot of late.....claimed him for 40 G´s .....good looking maiden win.....first time facing winners....He has shown ability on the turf before....a major player as Rosario rides.
The pace looks like Baby Blake and Kessabtsi will hook up on the early lead...... if no-one goes with Baby Blake he will be hard to collar down the lane. If the race falls apart....Nome a horse I thought would climb the class ladder...... might love the switch to turf.......bred for the sod.....He has the perfect late running style to upset this field.
1.Cook Inlet..
RACE 4
A small field of suspect cheap horses in this route race. Laser Point trained by Jeff Mullins looked good winning last time out. He looks to be the controlling speed in this race. All hands on deck...Personality like this track.....drops in class as Rosario climbs on... who has been on this dude for his two wins. Spicy Beau is two for two at this track.....a horse for the course....He has both speed and tactical speed to wait right off the lead or press the pace if need be.... Jerry Fanning claimed No Staduim.... He ran in a off track with Rosario.... He should not be overlooked here....Low Power Gear looks like he will like this field.....He beat Man Chester Man who back back and won going away Friday.
RACE 5
A starter allowance for fillies and mares going one mile on the turf. The speed looks to be Roman Chic..... claimed last time out off a somewhat dull race by this five year old mare.... Diodoro has her in a race where she cannot be claimed.....good sign! Eswan rides with weight off is a major plus on the turf. Tripped The Light might be getting a little long in the tooth but her record speaks loudly here....A big time major contender with Go-Go riding. Vikkilee has been facing tougher....hard to gauge but the leading rider climbs on.....tells me all systems are a go...
1. Roman Chic.....controlling speed
2. Tripped The Light....win baby win
3. Vikkilee....sneaky dropper
Longshot Somethingabouteri
RACE 6
A 30 G maiden sprint for three year old fillies. Warren´s Venedalucy was six clear of the third place horse in her last race at this level..... a very good sign to see with maidens....If she repeats that race ....she might be hard to collar downing for home....She needs to deal with another speedy filly in here. Ralphy´s Girl might be dangerous if given a easy nice lead..... She has run races that maker her have her say in this maiden sprint race. Bell´s filly by Carson City is bred for pure speed....She has a win early pedigree that makes R Doubleday looks very live first time out..... I really like the fast works....tab the jockey as Blanc gets a fast filly that should not be overlooked here. A wierd pace play......if the race falls apart look to Wild Bella to do her best running late from off the pace. Chimi Dee was horrible as the betting favorite....She does get a good post position on the outside.
1 Warren´s V.....one to beat
Pick Three 3 with 2,6 with 4,10
UPDATE $45.90
RACE 7
The feature race is a turf sprint for fillies and mares in a allowance Cal-Bred grab bag. Tasty Treat looked very good smoking open company foes down the hill. She exits a key race where three horses have come out of that race and won.....Tab the jockey.....Talamo rode her in that race.
Starry Skies broke slow then made a big move to break her maiden first time out...She faces winners for the first time... I like how she overcame trouble and still won.
Daring Dodie broke her maiden first time out.....a little slower then Starry Skies but still won by four lengths.....it looked like she was powered down.....a contender!
Mike Mitchell quickly brings back Shezabigbroad.....I think she is better at sprinting then on going long....Mitchell hits at a high percentage when he uses this route to sprint angle.
Suances Flower won sprinting on turf at Hollywood....She like this down the hill course.
1. Tasty Treat.....love the 49er pedigree
2. Starry Skies......trouble and still won
3. Daring Dodie......likes this course
$20 place on 6
RACE 8
Jeff Bonde sends out the big time dropper Iron Joe T who last race broke slow was then steadled and still ran up to the lead.....Bonde is having a excellent meet this year. Bruce Headley addds the blinkers after P Thirty Eight lost all chances at the gate. He made a nice move after fading in the slop.....expect better...win early pedigree....
1. Iron Joe T..... Jeff drops this one
2. Cut N´Deal....sneaky longshot
3. Ferveo.....soild works for debut
Longshot P Thirty Eighty
$20 place and show on 10 Cut N Deal
