THURSDAY SPOT PLAYS

RACE 7


Six and half furlongs turf optional claimer is the feature race on the card. The lineup includes....

1. Smokey Lonesome.....trained by Art Sherman...He has won down the hill before....He exits a route race two back and beat a very good field of runners....His last race was way too deep of water .....he is back with friends.....watch out for this one because he rarely runs a bad race.

2. Royal F J......a head case that gets way too many seconds and thirds for me....classic hanger down the lane...

3. Indian Winter.....solid speed numbers as a three year old.. Hollendofer trains this interesting improving son of Indian Charlie....A hungry rider is up ...Krigger....He tries the turf for the first time.... do not sell short....because he has run with some very talented horses like J.P´s Gusto and Ultimate Eagle and Frumos....

4. Clubhouse Ride.....if he runs back to last year races.... like the Sham Grade 1 race then....beware! I have always like this one....He tries the tricky course for the first time....

5. Irish Art.....Carla Gains shortens up this talented one.... He posted a big speed number getting a close up second last time out...He failed as the favorite last time out.....might be the favorite in this race....lot´s to like if he takes to this course. He race second to Mr. Commons. He beat Ultimate Eagle....in that race.

6. Obviously........a scary import with great turf pedigree and ultra fast works under tow.....Mitchell and Bejarano team up.... logical major player here. He comes in fresh.....beat 16 horses in his turf maiden debut...

7. Thomas Baines.....had to need last....second race after a long lay off...He has the numbers and back class to make him a major player here..... do not sell short!

8. Lunada Bay......Baffert trains this one trick speed horse....siding with others.... does get outside post which is a plus....should be out there winging on the front end....

9. Rauschenberg........Jones trains this stone cold closer....He needs a fast pace to run at....Bejarano climbs off to go to the import for Mitchell......mixed signals here

10. Romero Royale.....Gary Stute hires the bug boy....won on this course....sneaky over lay I expect.....needs a fast pace to do his fly by at the wire....player that will not get alot of action at the windows...


Wide open .......solid contenders..... few pretenders!

1. Obviously.....scary importer with good connections
2. Smokey Lonesome.....never runs a bad one
3. Irish Art.....the one to beat

RACE 8

A five furlong dash for 30 G maiden´s ends today´s card. Flying Solo´s debut with Charm The Maker was excellent. She drops from open maiden special weight to the cellar.....Rosario rides this daughter of Scat Daddy. Bullet of the day two back makes her the one to beat....If she does not win......then this race is wide wide open! Samaurai Jess trained by Doug O´Neil looks like first time out.....check out this fillies bullet work out...

The pace looks to have Glo Jack out on the front-end winging again.....She shortens up to five furlongs...I expect more stick at this distance....Come Catch Her....H. J´s Kitty looks to break fast from the outside post.....David Bernstein sends out the daughter of Discreet Cat.....looks better third time out. Zenett goes from inside to outside for trainer Belvoir.....Corey rides...

Another race that has the look of being suspect......

1. Wild In The Saddle....good to see Valdiviar back!
2. Glo Jack......has speed.....watch out!
3. H.J´s Kitty.....good connections
