THURSDAY SANTA ANITA PARK

                              SANTA ANITA ANALYSIS

It looks to me that Today is Chalk Charlie.....favorite or second choice in the most of the races. The last race looks very suspect.....take the first time starter.......

RACE 1

A six and half furlongs maiden special weight for four year old fillies and up. The line-up includes...

1. Sister Esperanza......good trainer and jockey combo....with a race under her belt....she look´s to improve with win early pedigree in her blood.

2. With A Miracle......Hess Jr. and Bejarano team up....His live jockey when he has a live comebacker....She gets off the turf after finishing second at double digit odds....still learning the game.....let´s see how she runs on the dirt.

3. Bud And Brandy.......Smith and Treoger team up....fifth race who has solid morning works...

4. Oulaoulala.....Steiner and Randall team up....finish full of run in her debut.....second race....view her as a major contender! Looks like the one to beat after she exits a highly regarded maiden race with Generation Of Love!

5. Jardella......looks to be the favorite at post time....good trainer and jockey team...She switches to the dirt.......last time she ran second on the dirt....She has four straight seconds.... diploma time......or really looks like a second again to me.

6. Luckvic......finshed third behind B and B....switches back to the dirt....Her record 8 starts 4 seconds and 2 thirds.....Chatel rides...

RACE 2

One mile and a sixteenth for the claiming price of 12 G´s. Kristin Mulhall has been on fire at this meet....She sends out All My Chips who is seeking third straight race.... A slight hike up in class...  She just might bounce after that last race. Summer Movie claimed by 25 G´s by Doug O´Neil....takes a  big drop down to this level.  She looks ready to fire at this level. I had her on my watch list....always like this grey... Rocket Roan trained by Mike Anderson hires Eswan Flores who gets weight off....She stretches out again in distance. Way Too Much looks to rebound after racing at a distance she could not handle..... cuts back here!

            1.  Summer Movie......always like her
            2.  Rocket Roan.....Eswan rides
            3.  All My Chips.....Hungry rider up!

RACE 3

One mile on the turf for fillies and mares that has not won this year. The line-up includes...

1. Five Silver Stars....Bejarano rides as she has four straight seconds.....seconds anyone! She looks to be the favorite at post time. She is a classic hanger........Pass!

2. Cactus Flyer.....Bejarano climbs off...He has ridden this mare three times...off.....Krigger climbs aboard. She has never been this far....She will try to press the pace with Sunshine....meltdown perhaps.....

3. Warren´s Mystery....rarely passes a horse...shock to see this one win......

4. Sarastoga Sunshine......head case that drops again....She did not like the down the hill course....expect she will run better stretching out for Mitchell. Mike takes the blinkers off ..Rosario thinks this horse will do better routing.....the speed of the speed!
Come Catch her!

5. Quiet Advice....this old broad is a classic hanger.... but has a look in this field. She looks to stalk....

6. Tiz A Bud Girl....Sadler sends out this comebacker...who has run with much better company then the broads in this race... Scary mare.....but why no Rosario.....She will stalk the pace....mid pack closer with a long look!

PACE SCENARIO.... Sarstoga Sunshine looks to be the speed winging out on the early lead. Catcus Flyer looks to stalk the speed with Tiz A Bud Girl flying down the lane.

             1.  S. Sunshine.....come catch me.
             2.  Catcus Flyer.....right behind the speed...
             3. Tiz A Bud Girl....should love setup!

2. Dancethewayouare......dropped way down in class... almost won getting collared at the wire. She take a hike up in class....interesting horse here. She might get over-looked.

3. Lady Vivien....maiden special weight dropper trained by Vann Belvoir..... showed speed up north....

4. Poppy Field.....daughter of Swiss Yolder.... make a good looking move against state restricted 40 G maidens.... like the pedigree....she warrants respect. Harrington the king of Yolder´s....

5. Too Five N Ten......a first time starter out of a Songandaprayer......trained by Brian Kornier..... no Pedroza... but Talamo...Her works are really fast and long.... which is what I like to see..... live ....

7. T.J´s Stormy Wit....Sadler trains and gets Eswan to ride...big speed number in her debut...claimed from O´Neil by Sadler from 30 G´s....in jail to take the mantatory hike up in class. She should get diploma today...big speed numbers makes this one the horse to beat.

First time starter bred for speed

RACE 5

A down the hill claiming race for 50 G´s. Bob Baffert sends out Salty Sarah who has speed in a race that lacks a front runner...Come Catch her! Baffert trains Sarah who has almost beaten Unzip Me and Rumor. I bet her in her last race....She just did look right....I expect she will run better today with little pressure on the front-end...Linda Lou a lightly raced seven yr. old mare has trouble getting to the races.... a number of lay-offs....She is starting her third race of the year.... A major player as she goes from route to sprint where she has won down the hill....Watch out ! Nice Miedel claimed by a excellent trainer for 40 G´s Pederson sends out this filly. Last year she was sharp as a tack.....four wins out of eight races for a three year old filly..... respect her...as she is four now. Californa Heat will most likely pick up the pieces if the front runners and mid pack closers mis-step turning for home. Talktoomuch is starting her third race after a slight lay off.... She has won ten times one fourth of her starts....she can win as Talamo re-rides. Shé´s Heir goes from dirt to turf where Cerin hits a 21%..... Missdealornodeal a horse I have had on my watch list....Gaines sends out this talented mare.... who should outrun her odds...Bejarano rides her.

John Sadler drops One Magical Girl who is seeking the right level for a win. She looks to be the speed in this race....back with friends at this level.  She looks to press the pace with Help Me Hannah. A major player with this drop in class.

The pace sceanrio....One Magical Girl is the fastest off the starting blocks...Help Me Hannah most likely will press a fast pace.

           1.  One Magical Girl
           2.  Help Me Hannah
           3.  Maryjean

RACE 7

Allowance turf features at this distance of one mile and a eighth for fillies and mares.

1.  Camelia Rose...... makes her debut for trainer Simon Callaghan....... She has won twice on the turf. She ran two against guys over the pond....Rosario rides might indicate that she is live for her U.S. debut!

2.  Score Boyera......... red hot trainer of late.....Smith takes the call....She had a troubled trip at Gulfstream where she finished second.....might need a race....

3. Glowing Spirit..... trained by AC.....She looked good winning at ten furlongs on this course at N1X level....slight hike up in class..... She shortens up in distance after wiring the field on Jan. 8th....

4.  Anniversary Girl......hall of framer trainer and Corey who just might be the best turf jockey on the circuit.... She will be closing from off the pace....got beat by Thisismystage on Jan 6th....then finished fifth flying home to lose by only one length and three quarters......look not by much!

5. Thisismystage....tries this condition again after closing from third then getting collared at the wire...lost a heartbreaker....She has excellent workouts....looks like a major contender this daughter of Theatrical..... exits a tough lost at this level and at this distance.....She is sharp!

6. Chokecherymary......She ran second in the Cat´s Cradle then won the Valentine Dancer stakes on Jan 28th.... improving filly.....like how she wins......game filly!

RACE 8

A five and a half furlong sprint maiden 30 G race ends the card. A large field with a number of first time starters... This looks suspect to me...I will take the first time starters.... Cerin who sends out the Moscow Ballet daughter of  Distored Humor looks like a runner to me....looks very live
