SATURDAY
SANTA ANITA PARK
Please read before betting. A really contentious difficult card in most of the races..... I like Blake in the third......might get good odds.....I like Warren´s Dr. Yang in the fifth.....but he faces a solid field....the field he beat last time was weak....still like him....The 6th.....wide open.....siding with Clear To Canada because of the hot pace.....I like him......
BANK $100.00
ROI $3,058
RACE 1
A short dash to five and half furlongs in this maiden 30 G race. Patriotic Lion is starting to look like a professional maiden. He will press this short distance........ a candidate to win if the first time starters need a race....Givinimaway debut was at 50 G´s.... His debut Rosario rode.....second time out for Mandella....the bug boy rides...contender with fast works.....Zander was steadled at six furlongs last race.....this distance he should be near the lead.....expect major improvement. Lightning McQue a interesting longshot with a sneaky trainer that hits with high price horses in the winner´s circle.....not a stand out but certainly no throw out .....The first time starter by Cee Tizzy Divorce Ahead and Warren´s Dr. Bo both look like runners to me....
1. Patriotic Lion......Classic hanger
2. Givimaway......Kin to the Champ
3. Zander.....had trouble trip longer...
Longshot Lightning Mc Que
$20 Place on Givimaway 10 (PAID $4.80 PLACE)
ROI $28.00
RACE 2
Maiden special weight turf race for three year old and up..... Cal Bred fillies and mares...Best Present Better ridden by Gomez tipped her hand in her comeback race down the hill. She gets the good outside draw where she can take back or press the pace....the one to beat if she repeats her last start. Zando flew late in her debut at Hollywood...... good connections as Flores rides this well bred maiden. Angel´s Moon had a good race getting second.....She has speed .....a major contender.... The clocker´s love Lil Swiss Echo.....she gets the highest grade in the morning time....Her debut was solid.....She gets weight off..... do not take lightly this one. She broke slow then got her head into the race late with interest.....
1. Best Present Better
2. Angel´s Moon
3. Zando
Longshot clocker´s play Lil Swiss Echo
Pick Four 12,11,10,5 with 5,7,9 with 1,2 with 6 out!
cost $12.00 minus ROI $28.00 minus $12.00= $16.00
RACE 3
A sprint for 25 N2...... tough race and hard to trust.... take note.... Goux Would Do trained by Mandella smoked a field of bottom maiden dwellers..... He won by nine...He looks tough again at this level. Magic Beam the horse I picked to win last time came up short....He look like he needed that race after a layoff.....He broke badly...... He can upset this field for trainer Eduardo Inda. Siempre Mio has speed....... He needs a clean break but will take them as far as he can go with Joy Scott a true professional jockey. Battle Lou drops in for a first time tag. Blake the clocker´s like....second start after lay off..... looks ready....
1. Blake
2. Magic Beam
3. Goux Would Do
$20 Place on Blake PAID (6.00 PLACE)
ROI $40.00+ $16.00= $56.00
RACE 4
The Santa Anita Oaks Grade 1 for three year old fillies.....distance one mile and a sixteenth......Eden´s Moon look like she could go around again in the Las Virgenes. Reneesgotzip got zip by Eden´s Moon....The trainer Peter Miller was pissed off at Eden´s Moon because he thought the jockey whipped his horse down the back stretch.....pinned her down on the rail. She adds blinkers.... which might help her..... the distance is the pink elephant in the room.... This looks like a two horse race on paper....
1. Eden´s Moon
2. Reneesgotzip
3. Willa B. Awesome
RACE 5
A wide open field sprinting down the hill for 25 G´s. Rosario takes the call on the old dude Star Nicholas. He is in current form and sharp.....will need some racing luck .....a closer from off the pace. Warren´s Dr. Yang won....He looked awesome winning a suspect field down the hill.....do not take this improving four year old lightly....will be overlooked at the windows..... Nofty second start after lay off...Gary Mandella uses Gomez will he has a sharp horse.... yesterday Gomez won with a Mandella second time runner......beware! Aliza´s Dream second start back from a layoff.....if he runs back to last year races during the spring and summer he can win.....will need racing luck as Stein and Blanc team up.....Dancing With Gable looks like he has lost a step or two......bummer getting old....! I have bet Husband´s Folly in the past..... He is usually around at the wire but usually a step too late....
1. Warren´s Dr. Yang.....really like him
2. Nofty.....good connections
3. Star Nicholas....old dude
$20 across the board on 6 Warren´s Dr. Yang
Paid $11.60 $5.60 $4.00
ROI $152.00 + $56.00 equals $212.00
Pick Three 6 with 3 with All cost $11.00
PAID $2083.10 plus $201.00 plus $280.00
Equals $2,564.00
Daily Double 6 with 3
PAID $280.00
RACE 6
A short dash at the bottom of the claiming ranks....Take Note! Square Deal is getting old but if he is half the man I think he is.....last year he would smoke this field....the song ....quarter of a man........Bell Zone a shipper trained by Marty Jones hires the hustling jockey Pedroza to ride....He should be pressing the pace from gate to wire...contender with a long look. Mike Mitchell wheels back Hidden Blessing.....drops quickly....mixed signals but gets Eswan to ride. Howmuchisit drops too in class after three disappointing races in 2012. Clear To Canada the beaten favorite last time out at this level....Claimed by Linda Minus.....do not sell this one short...He is fit and in current form......hungry rider Krigger rides this contender. I like him here!......Peacenik the clocker´s like....a bullet work out.....ultra fast work...
My longshot pick is Warren´s Summergold.....like the horse and jockey but the trained has been ice cold..... can´t find the winner´s circle....but sometimes a blind squirrel can find a nut or two...
The pace looks hot and contested with a number of runner´s pressing the pace....might set up for a horse from slightly off the pace.....Clear To Canada fits the bill.
1. Clear To Canada
2. Square Deal
3. Bell Zone
longshot Warren´s Summergold
$20 win and place and show on Clear To Canada
PAID $31.20 $10.40 $5.60
ROI $412.00 plus $2,564.00
Equals $2,976.00
RACE 7
One mile on the turf maiden special weight for three year old fillies.....Mike Mitchell sends out Miss Communcation.....goes two turns....She should be able to get this distance..... Major Contender!.....Her main rival looks to be the filly Rosario rides Dubai Cyclone....was three behind Miss in her debut....training well.....bred the distance. Miss Pippa comes out of the same race as Cyclone and Miss Communcations.....she has been training solid according to the clocker´s. Lady Ten the only filly that has proven herself routing.....Baffert trains..... watch out ...she draws outside.....should press the pace or slip right behind the rabbits.....Flashy Dame exits the highly regarde race with Mama Kimbo.....bred to love this surface..... anumber of first time starters in this race looks very live....very difficult race .....
Theses four fillies can win this race.....hard to put in order!
1. Lady Ten
2. Miss Communcation
3. Flashy Dame
Pedigree play Dubai Cyclone
$20 place Lady Ten
Paid $6.80
ROI $48.00

RACE 8
The Evening Jewel Stakes at six and half furlongs...A large field of three year old fillies.....Marty Jones sends out the filly Starry Skies who had a horrible start.....broke slow and was steadied then did the six wide move at the top of the turn then put her after burners on and won .....full of run...... after that race I put her on my watch list..... talented filly ....one question is the surface that race was on the turf.....
The speed looks to be both Briteness and Caribaya Queen.... both front runners...but the class might be the filly on the rail Heleonor Rugby.....her comeback race in 2012 was not that bad....She waited and had traffic problems ........expect much better as AC trains her. Starlite Magic has a long look....a Cal Bred with class. She is seeking the hat trick as Mike Smith rides her. Belloma is the horse to fear if the speed melts-down....She has the perfect racing style from off the pace......clocker´s love her as well. Warren´s Amber second race after her debut routing.....really like this pedigree on the dirt...She runs better on this surface....She gets weight off with double digit odds.... do not sell lightly this live longshot... Iám taking some longshots here.....
1. Heleonor Rugby
2. Starlite Magic
3. Warren´s Amber
Longshot Belloma
EX BOX 1,6,9
Paid $50.60
Pick Three 1,6,9 with 1,4,5 with 13 cost $6.00 out!
RACE 9
One mile on the turf for 25 G claimers.....I picked Sky Cape to win last time.....He did that....barely as Stoneside was head to head down the stretch....Sky Cape goes outside to inside as Eswan re-rides him....Stoneside is trying to turn the tables on this field.....he is sharp....and well placed at this level. They Call Him El gets back to a distance that he should love....better at one mile....Matto Mondo is the horse to beat......dangerous at this low of a claiming level..... He might be on the downswing with form...... very hard to gauge and trust this one.... might win might also be a also ran horse.....Imperial Pride is the upsetter if the race falls apart down the stretch......no throw out....good distance pedigree and turf pedigree to take this race at double digit odds. A real scramble in this race.....very wide open--- if Sky Cape or Stoneside mis-step.......
1. Stoneside
2. Sky Cape
3. Mato Mondo
$20 win on Stoneside
PAID $7.40 WIN
ROI $54.00
RACE 10
The Echo Eddie Stakes at six and half furlong ends the card.... A very tough way to end.....the pace looks fast and contested with a number of three year old pressing the front end. After watching The Black last two races....he is two for two.....both races looked very good. He should get a perfect trip from slightly off the pace....a number of speedy runners to his inside. Derby Gold and A Toast To You will press the pace. Three Vases is razor sharp..... as a two year old he has high speed figures....He can win this race. Coach Bob gets back on the dirt....He looked really good winning two races back....He rarely runs a bad race..... do not take this dude lightly as Eswan rides him. Mitchell sends out Pulpit Express..... seeking hat trick as the leading rider Rosario takes the call..... a very tough race here!
1. The Black
2. Coach Bob
3. Three Vases
Longshot Pulpit´s Express
ROI $3,058
