THURSDAY SANTA ANITA

                     THURSDAY ANALYSIS AND PLAYS

                                BANK $100 WEEK 2

RACE 1      ONE MILE AND SIXTEENTH
                             CLAIMER   10 G´S

A suspect low rent district claimer routing with cheap speed on the front end. Morganouska most likely will press the pace again. Bench The Judge should stalk along with Maker and Shem who is stretching out in distance and switching surfaces today. Bench The Judge should get the trip right off the speed-

Most looks like plodders and non win types on this modest card on Thursday.

            1.  Bench The Judge     No Value 9-5

Pick Three  2  with 2,4,5 with 6 cost $3.00

UPDATE PICK THREE PAID $72.70

RACE 2              ALLOWANCE SPRINT
                             THREE YEAR OLDS

Allowance sprint race for three year old fillies. The lineup includes...

1. Amazingly.... a daughter of Decarchy is switching to the dirt. She looked good in a semi weak field  in her debut on the turf last month at Hollywood Park. She should press the pace. My concern is this surface.

2. Almost A Lady...... won her debut at Hollywood then had a troubled trip in the California Breeders´Champion Stakes at this track. Almost A Lady is seeking her third win in four starts. The one to beat...no value.

3. Warren´s Goldie... good work outs... win early pedigree...gets the acid test on class.

4. Vicki Victoria... a big-plus is the jocket Bejarano who climbs aboard. She won at Hollywood last month.....and has been game in all of her starts...a player that might get overlooked today.

5. Caribaya Queen.....makes her U.S. debut....comes in fresh...ran at Woodbine....five starts one win three seconds and a third. Do not dismiss!

              1. Always A Lady...drops does the trick
              2. Caribaya Queen....take the new face
              3. Vicki Victoria....love the way she won

RACE 3        SPRINT THREE YEAR OLD FILLIES
                                   CLAIMER 16 G´S

The speed might be Purple Starduster claimed for 25 G´s. I Sense Your Luck ran a respectable second with slightly higher.  Maryjean drops from a maiden starter allowance to face softer. She might be the favorite at post time. She is the filly to fear turning for home. Victor has been red hot of late!

                1. Maryjean
                2. Purple Starduster

RACE 4         STARTER ALLOWANCE ROUTE

The pace looks to have Ultimate Decision on the lead right in front. Ultimate Decision smoked a field by 11 lengths....  He is the fastest horse in this race.... no value!  El Tango Ray ran a respectable race going long for the first time... expect further improvement. Myhorseofcourse a interesting longshot if the pace and speed melts down....I doubt it!

                 1.Ultimate Decision

RACE 5         MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT
                                    ONE MILE TURF

Statebred turf maiden route race with the girls running two turns on the grass looks to be a real scramble. Many pretenders make up this field of four year old fillies. The lineup includes....

1.  Von Nez.... a head case....She is starting to looks like a maiden professional who runs with the herd. Pass!

2.  Warren´s My Queen....She ran third behind The Grans....switches surface today for Jack Van Berg.

3.  Clean Break....a major contender....switches to the turf for trainer Marty Jones....Bejarano rides....this daughter of Unzip Me. The gal goes long for the first time....comes in fresh after two months off. The distance is my concern.....better sprinting I think.

4.  The Grans.....needs to run back to her second at this level in Ocotber...She shipped to Arizona then has been shipped back with solid works under tow....a player that will be overbet.

5.  Lovely Sophia.....She looks to improve today switching to the turf for trainer Peter Eurton....mixed signals

6.  Plazrita.....bred for the turf....upset player...lot´s to like because of the pedigree of Black Tie Affair and Benchmark.....

7.  Elana Mar....comes in fresh from last summer...One bad race does not make a career....... I expect Bruce Headley will have her cranked up...and ready to roll. I love the long work outs...beware!

8.  Warren´s Why Me..... win early turf pedigree with this first time starter....look who climbs aboard Rosario.... He is his main guy when he has a live one... do not dismiss. Trainer Jockey angle!

9.  Linda Winz... She is kin to Hot Damon who was a turf winner... really like her pedigree on the turf....She has troubled start... I expect much better today!

           1. Warren´´s Why Me
           2. Elana Mar

           Longshot.... Plazrita

Late Pick Four   7,8 with 9,10,11 with 4,7 with 5,4

UPDATE PICK 4 PAID $323.80

RACE 6          SPRINT CLAIMER 16 G´S

Bejarano rides Subpoena The Dress in this 16 G claimer sprinting on the main track. She looks to get a jump on Jaws N Paws.....and Line One. Mitchell sends out Russian River who gets the short straw on the dead rail post position. The rail has been dead at this meet. Jaws N Paws gets the cozy outside post....remember she beat Subpoena The Dress before. She looks to be the one to fear! Line One is a interesting live longshot... She beat a highly regarded allowance race back in April at this track...... She comes in fresh with Joe Talamo riding her...Talamo needs a winner after his dry spell at Santa Anita. Check out her bullet work over this track..... beware as do not dismiss at six to one morning line...

              1. Line One....Talamo needs this one!
              2. Jaws N Paws....on my watch list

RACE 7         ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMER
                                    ONE MILE TURF

The pace looks fast and contested on the front end. Really Elegant looks to press the pace again after running with Sunburn two back. Catch her to win this as she tries to steal this race on the front end. Bench Beauty did not take to the down hill turf sprint. She better at this distance. Suances Flowers trained by Vienna is improving with her speed figures. She has speed and looks to stretch out...bred for the distance makes her a player. Ruffled Feathers looks to bounce back after a horrible start in the Cat´s Cradle...bounce back from slightly off the pace. Both Sunburn and the morning line favorite Meltarib are contenders....I like Meltarib over Sunburn....Ruffled Feathers

                     PACE MAKES THIS RACE.

                    1. Meltarib....sets up for a midpack closer
                    2. Ruffled Feathers....backclass closer

RACE 8          SPRINT MAIDEN 40 G´S

In what I believe to be the most competive difficult race on today´s card....A ten horse full field in this maiden sprint with a number of key droppers from maiden special weight to the claiming level...  Father Pabst....Apply........Marker Down...Baron Von Red.....Relentless Heat and Sky Fox....drop big time!

Bullring trained by Baffert who sends out two horses....makes this second start gelding the horse to beat.

               1. Bullring
               2. Relentless Heat
               3. Father Pabst

The first time starter... yes a five year old by Streetcry...Royal Meridian has excellent pedigree with fast sneaky works under tow....
