FRIDAY SANTA ANITA

                                      BANK $493.95

RACE 1

A one mile starter allowance for three year olds on the main track. Bob Baffert sends out Blueskiesnrainbows who should press the pace from the sound of the bell. He is bred out of English Channel so I expect the distance to be no problem. He is the one to beat as Bob Baffert has another talented horse in his barn.   If a speed dual developes then we need to look to the closers  Big Hands Al....and do not dismiss. The Bein´s Gitt... should love the distance with his perfect closing style at one mile.

           1. Blueskiesnrainbow
           2. The Bein´s Gitt
           3. Big Hands Al

RACE 2

Eric Guillot and Victor E. hook up with the big time maiden dropper Mccarroll. This four year old switches surfaces getting off the turf. A player but he looks like a plodder on the outside..... Art Sherman sendsout Spicy Beau who ran with Sidepocket Kid.....both look like players.....This is my three top picks.....coin flip so I will pass!

RACE 3

A turf sprint for 25 G´s for fillies and mares. The field looks to be suspect..... The pace looks fast and contested with a number of fillies and mare with speed. Kiss My Swiss adds speed and most likely will press a fast pace. Shawlit Sundae has cheap speed but will press the pace up front early. Five Star Day is the horse to beat. The race has speed so it sets up for a speed horse stalking the pace.... Picture Perfect fits the bill.

                   1. Five Star Day
                   2. Picture Perfect

RACE 4

A talented field of Calbreds maiden at one mile. Jeff Bonde brings down Teraad from Golden Gate. He need a clean break from the outside post. Corner Office should love the added distance here. Good connections with breeders owners and trainer with Mike Smith up in the irons. The horse to beat after running second to Spirit Rules..... should enjoy the distance.
Puff Pastry ran with Vicky Victoria who ran a super race yesterday losing a hearbreaker...Puff looms large as a major player. But why no works outs over dirt is my concern. Mike Mitchell is super with second time starters. He sents out Dylan Donnelly who is a blueblood gelding by Storm Cat out of the mare of Rubino....I expect major improvement with this dude because of the added distance and his excellent pedigree.

             1. Corner Office
             2. Teraad
             3. Dylan D

RACE 5

The low level rent place at the bottom level with a field of plodders...... void of any speed types early on the front end. Spectacular Slew might stalk the speed early....behind Brady Blue Eyes.....who races at the bottom level for the first time in his life. Brady Blue Eyes should love the help dropping in class. I like him at this level. No reason Clear from Canada cannot win two straight. He looked very good at this level last time out. He faces a suspect field again with Martin Garcia reriding him for trainer Peter Miller.

            1. Clear From Canada
            2. Brady Blue Eyes

My value play Today is the late Pick Four.... the ticket looks like this

5th    1,5
6th    5,7
7th  1,3,4,5,6
8th     6,8

RACE 6

A starter allowance on the turf at a distance of one mile.... conditions looks new to me a 12G claimer! Skinny Genes a horse I have picked on this blog has been a underachiever ........since then  she has been blowed away facing much better....she needs this drop in class to compete. Nothing To Fear needs this relief in distance...first time she goes long... I expect better stretching out to a mile... Talamo and Jones team up. We Are One looms large for a win in this spot. She won at this distance coupled with the fact that with four starts at this distance she has one win and three seconds...not that bad. Sheskey will be overbet with the leading jockey riding her....one for 23.... Pass.

                 1.Skinny Jeans
                 2. We Are One

RACE 7

A sprint in this Calbred NIX....competive contentious field. The lineup includes...three year olds.....

1. Exotic Slew... a very talented gelding....lost a heartbreaker in stakes race....needs to clear from this post position....rail has been dead but this field is small.

2. Johnny Be Mine.....looks to be the pure speed in this race... Come Catch this dude...he shortens up in distance will only help his chances to win.

3. Motown Men....drops in class after a trouble start in the California Breeders Cup race....needs a clean break. He most likely will be favoriteat post time.

4. Rockinarz Recruit....adds the blinkers then smoked a good field up north fro trainer Mason...a sneaky trainer as Victor red hot Espinoza rides...

5. Jack O Lyn.....has won more then once.... will press the pace from the outside for trainer Jeff Mullins and Rosario rides... He might be this good!

6. Coach Bob....shipper from Golden Gate that gets weight off and more importantly has speed..... pedigree that is improving......do not dismiss with double digits odds.

RACE 8

A tough race at 30 G´s going long...one mile on the main track. Midnight Con drops after showing speed. A contender. War Politics ran into a buzzsaw ...Groovin Solo a stakes winner.... the drop will help his case. Take No Prisioners drops in class also..... the drop for the money run.

                 1. Midnight Con
                 2. War Politics
