WEDNESDAY HOLLYWOOD PARK
HOLLYWOOD PARK
RACE 1
Dr. Smarty Jack likes this track after posting a winning move with a highly regarded optional claimer race. El Gato Malo looks to be the controlling speed.....a very tough dude when he is right.....a contender for a win in this spot. Fantastic Pick once could have crushed this field.... won the Oak Tree Derby back in 2010....... issues of fitness and soundness might be the name of his tune. Posse Power might be the bomb....look out!
1. El Gato Malo
2. Dr. Smarty jack
3. Posse Power
RACE 2
Si Mar ´s Dear claimed by the king of claims Mike Mitchell who usually puts them in a spot to win looks like a winning move for him..... I usually do not like to see a move by a trainer....dropping below the claiming price....but Mitchell does this a has a high percentage of win´s by such a tatic. Good Acktress will show the way with speed to spare.... she drops from sprint to route. Clever Chloe did not beat much at Fairplex but the drop in class will only help her changes today. Woodman´s Lass should move foreward.... no throw out......
1. Si Mar´s Dear
2. Good Ackress
3. Clever Chloe
Longshot Little Emily
RACE 3
First time starter Dream Caught looks like a runner to me. The son of Awesome Gambler has been smoking up the track in the morning time.....looks live as Rosario rides. Unusual Heat Wave looks to be the one to beat after finishing third at Del Mar then ran fourth in a highly regarded turf route race. Exotic Slew should love the turf after showing speed exiting some good sprint races. I like Summer Squall babies on the turf as Line One should outrun his odds on the outside for trainer Harty.
1- Dream Caught
2. Awesome Gambler
3. Exotic Slew
Pedigree Play Line One
RACE 4
Good morning line odds on Devil´s Afleet....... a good value bet if he goes higher....... Bruno´s Wager looks live for trainer Mathis...... Wild And True drops as Rosario stays with this dude who has been facing better company then these. Thrice The Vice has gas. He figures here as a pace setter..... might get collared down the stretch.
1. Devil´s Afleet
2. Bruno´s Wager
3. Wild And True
$10 Ex Box 9,8
$20 place and Show 9
RACE 5
A slightly raced nine year old Crossing The Line has a good turn of foot down at the wire. Star Nicholas looked good over restricted claimers last time out. Dance With Gamble hung like a cheap suit getting the perfect trip.....but does a double drop in class so...... beware he adds blinkers for the money run. Victor Garcia can flat out get them to fire fresh from the bench.... as Top Feeling has the rail after a year layoff.......... Last year around this time Garcia had a winner who returned after more then one year off........ do not sell short as he shortens up in distance from the rail.
1. Top Feeling longshot play
A. Crossing The Line
B. Dance With Gamble
C. Star Nicholas
Blueplate Special Pick Four
5th 1,3,5,9
6th 1,10
7th 3,4,7
8th 7 cost $12.00
$20 across the board on Top Feeling
RACE 6
This race has a number of maiden winners first time out for non winners of two. Frisco Kid came back smoking after eight months off to beat a average group of maidens. He warrants respect. Liberal Arts a horse I have bet finished second. He should like the added distance today. Moonlight Beach broke slow then finish getting third at this condition. He looked like he needed that race. I expect he will be more on the muscle in this wide open seven panal non winners of two. Nuclear Missle by Storm Cat drop to the bottom after facing better. He has the pedigree to step up .... he must clear from the rail.
1. Frisco Kid
2. Nuclear Missle
3. Liberal Arts
$20 place and show Nuclear Missle
RACE 7
Givine looks to be the one to fear after facing better. She has posted a big beyer number at this track. She was flying late to get third down the hill in the grade three Maddy stakes. This is a prep race for Home Sweet Aspen as she will enter the grade one race at Santa Anita December 31st. She is a candy ride filly who I think can run on any surface as she tries the turf for the first time today. Check out her record...... never runs a bad race. Briefcat comes in fresh as she usually fires a good race off the bench. She shortens up which plays good at this track. Rare Sunset aired..... good pedigree as she gets the acid test in class....might be this good. I have Jealous Woman on my watch list.......... do not sell short.....
A. Home Sweet Aspen
B. Givine
C. Jealous Woman
RACE 8
A low level maiden claimer going seven panals. A number of horses are coming back off a layoff. In fact, this looks to be a modest field in a wide open race. What A Rush finished third after a long lay off. I expect any improvment will do the trick. Check out his last workout. Praise For Dubai hung like a cheap suit after I had him on my ticket. Cheers To Boogie is improving with tactical speed. He did have some trouble getting clear in traffic last race..... slight but did finish respectable..... ahead of What A Rush.. Seek The Light has been the favorite in his last two starts with Bejarano riding...... a second and a hanging dirting in the lane fourth last race....will need some racing luck from the rail.....but will be bet again... I like the pedigree on My Top Cat..... by Storm Cat....the distance of seven will suit his style of closing........... He gets weight off...with the bug....plus I like the solid works....
1. My Top Cat
2. What A Rush
3. Seeking The Light
4. Cheers To Boogie
