FRIDAY TURF FESTIVAL HOLLYWOOD
RACE 1
March Mary ran a effortless race last time out facing the same faces as this field.............short price horse with no value... value bet might be Ancient Artifact...... watch this one!
1. March Mary
2. Ancient Artifact
3. Michailasheart
$20 place and show Ancient Artifact
RACE 2
Value longshot play Dixie Trouper
$20 place and show on Dixie Trouper
RACE 3
A turf route for maiden 2-year-olds looks to have the following
1. Value Play ( Our Boy Benjamin )
$20 place and show Our Boy Benjamin
RACE 4
Bob Baffert looks to have the first time starter Genius cranked up for a winning debut----------a son of Smart Strike. The Director is another first time starter for Baffert..... He looks like a runner to me. Fiarano exits a fast quick race in March..... if he is cranked up ......... I like him.....the same can be said of Doubledown On Ten...... good works after a highly regarded debut in January...... warrantes respect... good race with a number of very talented future stars....
1. Doubledown On Ten
2. Fiarano
3. Genius
RACE 5
The Turf Festival begins with a route for 2-year-old fillies. I like a longshot in this race.... Raesunbridled Faith..... the female Rodney Dangerfield of fillies.........needs a clean break this time out.... do not sell short.
1. Value Play Raesunbridledfaith
RACE 6
A modest field of cal bred maidens..... Full´s Kris S is moving up facing better then what he faced at Del Mar. Tab the jockey reride here. My Slew got beat by Sun´s Out two back......... If he runs like he did in that one.....he is the one to beat! Unstopable Topper looks very live for Chantel....should move forward. Baraja De Oro broke slow but one race does not make a career... related to Ruination and Global Heat.....makes him a contender on pedigree. Plus he has had a major equipment change as he was gelded. Lethal Intent has the fast pedigree of Unusual Heat......should move forward in this wide open modest field of maidens.
1. My Slew
2. Full Kris S
3. Unstopable Topper
$20 place and show My Slew
RACE 7
A race void of any speed on the front end. From Top to bottom a weak tricky distance turf race.
Longshot play Erbeia
$20 place and show on Erbeia
RACE 8
Ron Ellis holds the hot hand with both Teddy´s Promise and Include Me Out. Teddy´s Promise has speed as well as tactical speed to stalk the pace. On paper both looks solid! Pick And Pray a value bet with double digit odds......... a live longshot pick here..she better at this distance....beware...she can flat out take this field....
1. Teddy´s Promise
2. Include Me Out
3. Pick And Pray
RACE 9 MATRIARCH
Top field of fillies and mares in this one mile turf stakes race. Retreat won last time out in Kentucky. She should get a good trip stalking the pace. Summer Soiree looks to set a fast pace on the front end. Unbridled Humor has speed. She looks very talented.....beware! Gypsy´s Warning won this race last race.... she warrantes respect.... All Star Heart has strung together five good races....She packs a great turn of foot..... She can be deadly here. She is game and does not do the classic bounce dance. Up In Time looked awesome......she gets a test in class but can shock this group....this is her distance on mile..... a three year old filly that will be overlooked at the windows....facing older.
1. Never Retreat
2. Gypsy´s Warning
3. Up In Time
RACE 10
Feisty Friend gets the rail. I expect she will press the pace after showing speed in her debut. She has a win early pedigree which makes her a contender here! Virginia Way shortens up in distance and is drawn outside. She will press the pace after her strong race. Creston Cutie a filly I picked in her debut ran a respectable debut missing by one length..... beware! The class dropper Zohrah has not been seen since last Februry...she shows up today...
1. Virginia Way
2. Creston Cutie
3. Feisty Friend
Class play Zohrah
