CAL CUP DAY AT THE GREAT RACE PLACE

RACE 1

Marty Jones sends out Hello Sugar who has debut in a fast race. The negative is she has been off for more then a year coupled with the post position .... He gets Bejarano to ride her.....who warrants respect. Jones sends out Tiz Flirtatious a debut winner by Cee's Tizzy......Bejarano goes to Hello Sugar as Rosario rides this well bred filly. Miss Sea Cup another debut winner who is well bred and exits a highly regarded maiden race.

The pace looks to be Shesoprovocative.....She might press a fast half mile.....if no one goes with her.......she just might relax.....and steal this sprint race. A filly who can flat out stalk this pace is Sweet Baguette...a filly I have picked in the past.

RACE 2

A down the hill state bred maiden turf race looks to be wide open and very hard to judge. Golden Nip has not raced more then a year but this four year old filly's debut with in open straight company which was impressive. I expect P-Val will have her into the bit thru-out this race. Plantium Mine needed this two month break to get act together.....She gets weight off and if she runs like she did in her debut as a two year old she can win.

RACE 3




Raesunbridledfaith is improving with a good looking allowance win. She is bred for the added distance. She warrants respect in this Cal Cup Stakes route race. Starlight Magic posted a big speed figure beating maidens sprinting. She goes long today at a short price. Blinkers come off Real Dream who routed up north....just draw a line with that race........She is well bred and usually fires every race.... She looks spotted to run on the dirt here. Toluca has not run a bad race....She is bred for this distance. She can step up and out-run her odds....Do not sell her short..

RACE 4


Stoney Fleece has the experience of routing in this wide open two year old stakes race for guys. Champions Gate well bred and exits a fast debut then ran second to Ruler Of Duabi....He is spotted for action for he takes to the added distance. Motown Men won first time out for O'Neil. The question is one of distance. He looks like he just might outrun his odds here. Our Boy Benjamin a maiden here but he adds the blinkers after a horrible trip on the turf. One good thing is that he will love this distance..........Beware!


Great spot to play a Pick Three  ......I might hit the all button in the first race and hope to beat the betting favorites.....In the second leg I will use B. Way with Archie's Way and the first time start....... in the final leg I will single Joy Boy.

The ticket looks like this   All with 1,4,7 with 9 cost a tad bit high for my pick three's......so delete some in the first race.....cost is $27.00.





RACE 5


Mike Puype's record with second time starters is very impressive. He sends out Borealis Way a colt by Bertrando who gets a better post then what he had in his debut.....looks to be the favorite here. Archie's Way is bred to love this surface by Kris S... He was claimed out of the Dean Pederson barn by Mark Glatt....The hike up in class will make this four year old overlooked at the windows.........He was well bet in his debut.....and had a nightmare of a trip first time out. I expect Patrick to get him into this race early....... beware! The first time starter trained by Dean Pederson River Rafting looks very live here....bred to like the surface and bred to win early with solid morning works.

RACE 6

Obsess is in form and if he steps forward can win this allowance race. I like the longshot Joy Boy who has been off for more then a year. His two year old speed figures towers over this field. Brian can flat out get them to fire fresh....

RACE 7

Mega Heat has become a top west coast bred horse. I think he is improving but needs his A game to win the Cal Cup Classic. I expect him to be game down the lane.....Here is my top picks:

           3. Lucky Primo.....catch him to win



RACE 8


Mensa Heat was blocked at the top of the stretch....He would have gave Amazombie a run for his money in the Ancient Title... Here are my picks:

RACE 9


The favorite in the Cal Cup Distaff will be Unzip Me.....derseves to be the chosen favorite.... I like Sugarinthemorning to upset Unzip Me.....and a longshot play will be Waveline.
