SUNDAY HOLLYWOOD PARK

SMILING TIGER BY DAVID MORANT

RACE 1

Not much to say about this low rent district of a route race. If Blue Grass Music takes to the cushion track this field will be running for second place. The speed looks to be Argue My Case who is coming off a lay-off. She takes a big drop in class as Blue Grass Music does. Lyrical takes off the blinker and she drops in class. She should love the added distance. Warren's My Queen is the horse that has some lick... might hit the board.... Pass on this race! A short field with short odds.

           1. Blue Grass Music
           2. Argue My Case
           3. Lyrical

RACE 2

A sprint maiden for two year old colts. Scorpion Warrior trained by Kristin Mulhall ran a awesome debut running into the winner of that race Majestic City. He was three lengths clear of Unhitchthetrailor who came back yesterday and won the nightcap in the tenth race. He will be a short price favorite. Ron Burgundy broke slow in his debut then finished full of run. He should relish the added distance. A first time starter for trainer Doug O'Neil I'll Have Another by Flower Alley has a bullet work to his name. He looks spotted for action. Hurry Home Clover adds the blinkers after pressing the pace then slamming on the brakes. He gets the better outside post.  I expect he will lead from the gate with Gomez riding him. Thief River trained by a good trainer has interesting pedigree with Carson City as a mother and Heasbull as the sire. He is bred for speed. Joy Scott rides this interesting longshot.

        1. Scorpion Warrior
        2. Ron Burgundy
        3. I'll Have Another

RACE 3

When Patrick rides for his old friend trainer Troeger he usually is on a very live horse. This is the case for Coalbanks Landing. She drops in class to face Cal-bred allowance turf sprint. She looks ready to rumble. Rebecca trained by Michael Machowsky is a horse that is on my watch list. She is  returning after a eight month lay-off. She gets Tyler Baze which is a plus in the betting windows. She has strung together some long nice works for her comeback debut. She's won on turf. Do not sell her short. Sweet Baguette is facing winners after two good races in her short career. Talamo rides for Dean Pederson... a good trainer. Queenie Marini trained by Baffert won on the cushion track in a starter-allowance last month. She is bred for the turf. Miss Georgie Girl takes off the blinkers. She is the closer in this race. A lightly race filly who can improve big time.

           1. Coalbanks Landing....lost hearbreaker...
           2. Rebecca....talented with excellent works
           3. Sweet Baguette....look good winning

RACE 4

A three year old filly race for the claiming price of 20 G's sprinting. Jacobita looks to be the speed and the one to catch. She had to need her last start. Lily Amore drops after facing older. She looms large for the win. Judicious smoked a field of low level claimers. She can come back and win this wide-open claimer. A interesting filly that won last time out is Siempre Eseranza trained by the cagey trainer Aguirre. She beat Lady Gaga who came back and won. She had the difficult outside post in a field of 14. She made a big move at the top of the stretch to win. I like her in a upset~```

A tough race to start the Pick Six.....

            1. Jacobita...needed last...speed
            2. Siempre Eseranza....
            3. Judicious.....favorite at post time
            4. Lily Amore....back with her age group

RACE 5

Mike Mitchell is good off the claim in his first race back. Farley Star fits this bill. She takes a hike up in class.  Smart Strike takes a drop in class. She is a contender in this one mile turf race. Ninth Infanty a horse that I pick two races back to win did win. Her last race was a complete disaster as Chantel put her on the lead going longer. She runs better at a mile then longer. A interesting longshot who has faced the like of Ultra Blend, La Nez, Logical Single and Third Dawn is Chalula One. She has a solid record for trainer Richard Mandella. He has strung together some long works into her for her comback. Do not sell her short as she can win this race with Victor Espinoza who knows her well in the irons.

The pace looks hot and contested with Jax El, Ninth Infanty and Waynetta dualing for the lead. It sets up for a horse stalking the pace turning for home. Smart Strike is the scary dropper with Joel Rosario riding her.

             1. Chalula One...live longshot look
             2. Smart Strike....scary dropper
             3. Farley Star....Mitchell claim her

RACE 6

Bob Baffert sends out the high price son of Flatter Brigand. The dam Silence Please has had three winners form three starters with a stakes-winner in the mix. He has blazing fast works including a eye catching blow-out last Thursday.... Another FTS is Smart Ellis a two year old son of Smarty Jones for trainer Richard Mandella. A win early pedigree makes him a contender.

A colt that might just be over-looked here is Truco Latino. He ran in the Willard Proctor Stakes with Majestic City finishing second and nine clear of the third place horse. He drops back into maiden company. Cast Of Doubt was in that same stakes race. He was well bet that day for trainer Jeff Bonde who is excellent with sprinters.

          1. Brigand
          2. Truco Latino
          3. Smart Ellis

RACE 7

The speed has Roman Guitar on the lead. Come Catch him ~`` He comes in fresh in a race with little speed. Most of these horse are mid-pack closers and stone cold closers. Adriatric Moon claimed last time out takes a hike up in class for trainer Jeff Metz.  Roman Guitar and Concerto's Thunder looks to be the rabbit's at seven panels. A interesting live horse I like is Dano Dynamo. He comes back fresh with three months off. He has back-class with talent.....should be right off the speed turning for home. He looks fit.

           1. Dano Dynamo......live longshot...
           2. Roman Guitar...speed is king~
           3. Racketeer...horse to fear

RACE 8

The speed is Streakin' Mochican....and deadly if left unchecked out on the front end. Radtodanity and Don Tito add speed this this line-up. Quick Enough should be right behind the speed turning for home. If the rabbits melt-down then Quick Enough has a good turn of foot ot take this race. The scary old dude California Flag is the class of this turf sprint race. He comes back after last seeing him in the stakes race at Kentucky. Three back he beat Quick Enough at the wire. He looks spotted for action with solid works under tow. Dancing In The Silks won the Breeder Cup sprint in 09 and has never regained her form. She is training excellent for Walsh...and look who shows up David red hot Flores. She looks better on turf. The race might just set up for her coming off the pace. I like her.

           1. Dancing In The Silks.... like longshot
           2. Quick Enough.....talented
           3. California Flag....top billing...with fast works
           4. Streakin Mochican..... has speed....

Race 9

This is a tough 40 G maiden sprint race to end Sunday's card. There is a number of maiden special weight droppers looking to get there diploma. I focused on the FTS by Harris Farms trained by Sean Mcarthy and Tyler Baze rides this daughter of High Brite. Evening Twilight has a win early pedigree with a eye popping June 1st gate work of 58.3 at five furlongs.... seems to me she might just be live.... Kisses For Kate is the other horse that has debut after showing speed in a maiden special weight. Pederson trains and Martin re-rides indicates to me that she appears to be better then her debut.

          1. Evening Twilight....looks very live
          2. Kisses For Kate.... Garcia re-rides
