SATURDAY GOLD CUP DAY

COIL BY DAVID MORANT

RACE 1

Lemou looks to be the front-runner.... might be the lone front runner. He adds the blinkers. He warrants respect. Guest Star tab the switch to Rosario. A son of Storm Cat had a troubled trip last time out missing by a half length. He should love the added distance. Tiz Gianni the same can be said about him. He will get his diploma very soon.

        1. Guest Star
        2. Lemou
        3. Tiz Gianni

RACE 2

A short field of six entrants in a sprint at the condition of N2X. Baffert trains Sinai who broke slow then collared the speed and won by a half length. Baffert looks to have a big day today. Korban has tactical speed and a shot to win this. He is in form aand is knocking at the door at this level. A Player! Bet On Victor ran a dull race last time out. Take note he has won at this level before. A case can be made for Details R Sketchy as a solid contender in a race that looks wide open.

        1. Sinai
        2. Korban

RACE 3

A number of first time starters look live first time out. Irish Art jump off the page as Carla Gaines debuts with long drills which I love to see first time out. I expect Irish Art which is bred for the turf to be well bet here. Bruce Headley sends out two first time starters that look fast. Western Samurai who has fast works looks very talented therefore live. Global Domination is coupled with Samurai which appears to be working excellent. Switzers Da Man is the horse in this race that has finish second in all four races. He is a player again and cannot be ruled out for a win. Ivanho goes route to sprint for a cagey trainer. Rock Off in his last race looked short and needed that race. I expect this race he will be better tuned up to finish with a solid turn of foot down the lane. A contender in a fun race to watch and bet.

         1. Irish Art
         2. Rock Off
         3. Western Samurai/ Global Domination

RACE 4

In a short six entrant field Coil and Runflatout are the two front runners in this one mile and a eighth race. Coil is the one to beat. Runflatout will have his backer as a contender also. He gets a weight break of six pounds. He is one fast front runner. If both horses duke it out Boxeur Des Rues can flat out fly down the lane and win. He was super in his turf allowance race last time out. He is very talented but needs a perfect fast pace with Coil and Runflatout to blaze. If Coil was not in the race I would pick Rues in this spot. But that is not the case.

         1.  Coil
         2.  Runflatout
         3.  Uncle Sam

RACE 5

A Pick Six Carry Over starts this low rent district of a scramble. Take note that most of the races in the pick six is void of any speed type horse so handicap with that in mind. No speed types in this race except Golden Horizon and Straighttomidnight. Capt. Sparrow shortens up to seven furlongs. He most likely will be the favorite at post time.  Straighttomidnight will press the pace with Golden Horizon. Lease Of Life tab the switch to Rosario with blinkers going on. Danny James get weight off for the new bug boy. He fits from the outisde post. Stand Tall is rounding into form with speed. He fits on his best day. No solid opinion with this group but having said this.....

         1. Golden Horizon....stretching out....

RACE 6

The pace scenario looks to have Sanquine on the lead with Porfido.  Gothic Samurai drops again in class. He should be right behind Sanquine. Mr. Katz drops from open company to this state restricted race. He should be in the perfect postition to take this field. A upsetter is Killer Bear. He is better runner on the turf. He has no speed but at this distance with the rail he should be able to close down the stretch. He has run with some talented horses in the past. At this level he can make an impact and win this race. Porfido is another upsetter in this field. He has back class so take note.

           1. Killer Bear
           2. Porfido
           3. Mr. Katz

RACE 7

A race void of speed except Fortunate Appeal. He has been knocking at this door (non-winners of two for 16G's) twice. Come catch this dude. Get My Fix should stalk right off Fortunate Appeal. Indy Ride had to need his last start. I expect he will be tighter this time around. My upsetter is Thunder Of Zion with Joy Scott. Zion loves the wood and check out his blow-out... a bullet...do not sell short as he can win this race.

          1. Thunder Of Zion
          2. Fortunate Appeal
          3. Get My Fix/Indy Ride

RACE 8           GOLD CUP

In a race where the speed looks to be Game On Dude and Twirling Candy..... Twirling Candy can be on the lead or get a perfect trip behind the speed. With a race under his belt it is Twirling Candy race to win or lose. I expect a win! Awesome Gem a little horse with a huge heart is in form. He won this race last year. He is one of my favorite little horses that marks a true test of what a race-horse has... True Grit and game. Setsuko has one win.... his maiden win but has banked a ton of money. I like the breeding on Dark Cove. If he takes to the cushion track he will out-run his odds....is he good enough to be Twirling Candy... probadly not but he is improving.

           1. Twirling Candy
           2. Setsuko
           3. Dark Cove

RACE 9

Lucky Mr K a horse I pick to win beating softer can step up in this turf allowance and win. He is trained by Jeff Bonde a Gomez re-rides......all positive signs in a race that should have a contested pace Lucky Mr. K can flat out close down the stretch. If you throw out Alley Hondro's last race. He has been freshen up for Ron Ellis and take note that Rosario rides. He warrant major respect. Take A Yard shortens up in distance. I expect he will be well back by the public. I like Lucky to win.

           1. Lucky Mr. K

RACE 10

Last Memories had a horrible trip in his debut. He should love the added distance today. The horse who looks to be the speed is Warren's Hi Storm with Bryan Daniels. Clocker Moments has run races that puts him in this mix. As for any first time starter Ruling Force trained by Mark Tsagalakis sends them out to win first time out....so take note... great record with FTS's. Sanibel Sid by Rock Hard Ten looks like a runner on the outside in this scramble of modest maiden's.

        1. Ruling Force
        2. Sanibel
        2. Last Memories
