Thursday at Hollywood

                           HOLLYWOOD PARK
AMAZOMBIE BY DAVID MORANT

              MICHAEL BAZE MEMORIAL THURSDAY

RACE 1

A tough cast of runners make up the first race of the day at a claiming price of 25 G's. Joyful Success looks to be the speed of the race. He takes a hike in class coupled with the fact that he is on the upswing in form. El Scorpio drops two classes after taking six weeks off. I like this horse but my concern is the main cushion track where he has not run his race before. The Whammer had a troubled trip last time out. He press a fairly fast pace and was shuffled back his last race on turf. He moves to the main track today.

RACE 2

The speed of this starter allowance looks to be Warren's Peacock at a ideal distance of one mile on the turf. Lilly's Perfect has been the classic hanger getting third last time out. She has been the betting favorite in her last two starts. She most likely will be the favorite at post time.

RACE 3

A sprint for 2 year old fillies state bred maiden special:

1. Roar Baby Roar.....a first time starter for Hollendorfer. She has the great post with a win early pedigree. She has a solid workout tab.

2. Vicki Victoria......with a race under her belt she flew home to get second. Mike harrington trains this Swiss Yolder filly. Martin Garcia re-rides her.

3. Lulu's Quest....she adds the blinkers after running this spring  at Santa Anita Park in a two furlong race. She was well bet in her debut. Do not sell short as Joe Talmo re-rides her.

4. Molly's All Heart.... a second time starter who adds the blinkers. She lost all hope in her first race veering out from the start. She was the betting favorite in her debut.

5. Heleonor Ruby...... A.C. trains this second time starter by Storm Cat. She was well bet in her first race where she press the pace thru-out. She should get her diploma anyday now.

6. Jessakar..... a second time starter who had a troubled trip in  her debut. She flew home getting up to third late.

7. Lakeside Bide.....the sire Salt Lake sends out winners. A first time starter for trainer Ed Moger.... beware~`

8. Bulletgirl.............bad post..... the most experience filly in the crowd.

    1. Lulu's Quest....might out-run odds
    2. Vicki Victoria......second time
    3. Roar Baby Roar.....fast works

RACE 4

Gator Warrior a first time starter for the Baffert barns looks live. The mare Carson City is bred for speed. He will have to deal with Just Imagine who ran a respectable race off a eight month lay-off. Ultimate Eagle with a race under his belt should move forward. The X Factor is Bill Spawr colt Thirteen Black with Mike Smith in the irons. Smith rarely rides for this barn so I expect he might be a runner with double digit odds.

                 1. Gator Warrior
                 2.  Just Imagine
                 3. Thirteen Black

Pick Three 1,4,5,6 with 2,4,5 with 7  cost $12.00

RACE 5

A first level allowance race on turf at the distance of one mile. The only filly that does not drop out of stakes races is the maiden breaker Nereid who's first race indicated her talent when she got second to Zazu. Then quickly graudated on her next race. Wave Of Applause has faced good company last year at Santa Anita Park. She looks spotted for action on the rail. She can press the pace or wait stalking the speed. I have Warren's Flyer on my watch list. She is bred for the turf so I expect she will fire her best shot in a difficult wide open allowance race. So Belle comes in fresh for this race. She looks to fire big time first time out. She drops in class. If the speed melts down I expect she is the scary filly turning for home.

             1. So Belle....race sets up for her
             2. Warren's Flyer........longshot look
             3. Nereid......on her way up.....talented

Pick 4     2,4,5 with 3,4,7 with 4,5 with 3,8    $18.00

RACE 6

A  fillies and mares in this starter allowance sprint on the main track fits this bill. Queenie Marini trained by Baffert fired a big shot in her first race at this very level two back. She then stepped up in class stalking the pace thru-out getting third. She warrants respect again at this level. Chocolate Caliente after smoking maidens in the low rent district she should be right off the pace closing at this distance. Rosario and Hollendorfer team up for this spot. Katy's Kitty trained by a trainer who get flat out get the filly to fire first time off a lay off is Melody Colon. Martin Pedroza her. She has a good turn of foot. The works indicate that she is fit for her fly by at the wire.... do not sell her short here. Right On Renee gets Gomez. She was claimed out of the Colon barn her last race where she broke her maiden. She has every right to step up and win at this condition. Miss Resplendere will pick up the pieces from the rail. This is a tough wide open race with many contenders and few pretenders.

               1. Queenie Marini
               2. Cholocate Caliente
               3. Katy's Kitty

Pick 3   3,4,7 with 4,5 with 3,8  cost $12.00

RACE 7

Jax El looks to be the speed again. She won this condition two starts back on turf. She look good that day. Her last start she ran into Logical Single and Lady Railrider.....not too bad.... talented duo of fillies. The race does have other speed and it all depends what the other trainers and jockeys do with there horses. Ellafitz trained by Bob Baffert has his number one jockey in the irons. She is coming back fresh after five months off. She can press the pace or wait stalking Jax El. She has ran with the top fillies in the West Coast...... Switch..... All Due Respect.....Crisp..... Washington Bridge a mare..... She looks ready after looking at her workout tab........... fast long bullets for Baffert.

Kayce Ace adds fuel to the race. She can press a fast pace or sit off the pace and close. She like Ellafitz is coming back after a vacation for trainer Eoin Harty. His has strung together 12 solid longs works....... beware....she has the look of firing first time back. Tab the jockey here...

               1. Kayce Ace
               2. Ellafitz
               3. Jax El

$20 Across the Board on Kayce Ace

RACE 8

The nightcap is filled with one-dimensational speed types. Cabo is the speed of the speed. He gives it up down the lane. Free Time looks to press the pace on the inside of Cabo. Captain Shawn D looks to be sent from the rail. Doughboy in the second hole adds gas to this mix of front-runners. Bryant Daniel can stalk the rabbits then close if he is good enough. He gets Bejarano and looks ready to get his diploma..... if.... the horse dropping from maiden special weight does not beat him. Gold N The Road....which I like the.. pedigree ...new trainer and first rate jockey..so beware~

                1. Bryant Daniel
                2. Gold N The Road
                3. Doughboy
