FRIDAY LINEUP AT HOLLYWOOD

TWIRLING CANDY BY DAVID MORANT

RACE 1

The low rent district for maidens sprinting on the cushion track is the opener on Friday Night card.

Not a strong field...... the pace scenario looks to be Aeromon on the front end. He showed gas last summer at this track He has three seconds at Hollywood. I like him as his works indicate that he has been training with quick short blow-outs the in the months of May and April. The favorite in his last three starts. Preferred Mandate with Party Ruler look to stalk the speed. Preferred Mandate most likely will be the favorite at post time. Party Ruler thrid race after a lay-off. He has Go-Go re-riding this gelding trained by Barry Abrams. Blinkers go off I'am A Hummer who drops in class. As I have said in the past one race does not make a career. David Flores takes the call. He has been red hot of late.

Dan Hendricks uses Paul Ackinson as a jockey. They have in the past connected with some big pay-offs. It is hard to judge Omega Storm on his work outs. A cagey trainer and jockey combo.

$20 place Omega Storm

RACE 2

Alienation is the fastest filly of this race. She is coming back from a eight month lay-off for Bob Baffert. The works indicate all systems go. The pace scenario has Candy's Pleasure pressing the pace. Glorified is the new girl on the block.

                      1. Alienation......five bullet work-outs
                      2. Candy's Pleasure
                      3. Glorified

RACE 3

This race looks suspect in the low rent district. I bet Luv Dragon which looked like he needed a race under his belt. On the other hand, he might just be a classic hanger down the lane. He has a perfect trip last time out. Just Heat drops to collect.  Ballestro claimed last time out........... gets Tyler .......Tab the jockey switch here. Manogold might not take to the cushion track as Bejarano climbs off. If last race was a fluke then watch out for this one.

            1. Luv Dragon

RACE 4

A sprint on turf for maiden special weight:

1. Nofty.........outside to inside.... His last race was dull. He should improve big time switching back to the turf.

2. Madeoftherightstuf......this first time starter by Gone West has some good lookin works.....for trainer Bruce Headley who sents out horses fit to fire first time out.

3. Mr. Sierra.........the speed of the race. He is bred for the turf for trainer Jeff Bonde. Bejarano takes over. He might not look back.

4. Warren's Closer......second race after a lay-off...... would be a shock and a carry over in the pick six. Low level trainer and jockey connection.

5. Jacob's Journey.......a first time starter for Mike Puype. Modest drills.....except very good May 1st work.

6. Royal Heat....by Unusal Heat gets Go-Go..... a first time starter. Slow meet for Abrams.

7. Warren's Patron......the works indicate all systems go with JR riding. He looks live here.

8. Shanes Daniel..... JR jumps on the first time starter... He drops down the class in his last race. He finish behind Spuds... who came back and won.....He has tactical speed.

            1. Warren's Patron
            2. Madeoftherightstuf
            3. Mr. Sierra

RACE 5

Mike Mitchell has the red hot hand at this meet. Most anything he sends out is live. Warning Song has been gelded since his last start. He takes off the blinkers. Tab the switch to Gomez.

Gallerta Monstruo is back quick after winning last Saturday in a 40 G claiming race. This distance of seven and half panels is ideal for this stone cold closer.

The pace scenario lacks any speed except maybe Eye On Jacob who might get brave on the front-end. His second race after a lay-off. I like Domonation in this race. He rounding into form plus a hint of back class.

              1. Domonation
              2. Eye On Jacob

RACE 6

Tia Tia drops after getting beaten by Lemon Drop Ridge who came back and won yesterday. She looked good breaking her maiden in her second career start at Santa Anita. David Flores has been on fire lately....tab her for a big performance. Hot Ticket is the short price favorite..... let's try to beat her in this non winners of two condition. Lake Believe ran a super race at Fairplex breaking her maiden. She drops in class for Peter Miller. Wild Cat Lore stretches out in distance around two turns for Knapp. I rarely bet Knapp but she looks in form and fit. It seems hard to trust anyone in this group of non winners of two.

                     1. Tia Tia
                     2. Lake Believe
                     3. Hot Ticket
                     4. Wild Cat Lore

RACE 7

Ace Of Aces will be sent from the opening of the starting gate. He wired a N2X field at one mile. He will have to wire this field tonight with more added distance. He just might get loose on the lead. He is no throw out even at this difficult distance. I have always like this guy. I expected big things for him. Calimonco can go with Aces or stalk right behind him. Smokey Lonesome looks scary with his second race after the short time off. He has battled with some tough turf pro's. He can wait stalking the pace mid-race then he has a fast turn of foot down the stretch. The same can be said of Blue Chagall. His last race was dull without any valid excuses. His race two back puts in right in the hunt. He will roll late picking off the horses at the wire. A major player for Julio....who has the hot hand of late.

             1. Ace Of Aces
             2. Smokey Lonesome
             3. Calimonce

RACE 8

A suspect group of low rent district maiden's sprinting on the cushion track for the night-cap. Creston Cowboy drops for 40G's to 20 G's. He adds the blinkers for his third career start. The good news is Joel Rosario re-rides this guy with a somewhat trouble trip in his last race. He pulled Joel around half of the race then was in tight..... and finally faded into the setting sun. If he is going to get his diploma this is the race.
