Sunday At Hollywood Park

BENCH POINTS BY DAVID MORANT

RUNFLATOUT BY DAVID MORANT

                            HOLLYWOOD PARK

Race 1

A tough day Saturday as the Pick Six paid with four horses.... a rare day.  A route race for the claiming price of 25 G's. The pace looks slow with Tripped The Light takes a hike up in class for Jeff Mullins. She can stalk or press the pace if need be. Church Avenue is stretching out in distance. She is the horse for the course at Hollywood. At this level she loks scary if she can past Tripped The Light down the stretch. Rainbow Luck trained by Peter Miller takes a big drop in class. She has faced much better horses. The last time she drop down this level she won back at Hawthorne. Dave's Revenge has only won three races but has pocketed $223K. She drops for Hess Jr. The red hot Bejarano rides for the first time. Beware~ Malusita the Turf Paradise shipper looks ready to roll. She has five wins at Hollywood Park. She has tactical speed coupled with the fact that she might be on the lead with Patrick taking the call. Alot to like here.

Race 2

A tough short sprint for the claiming price of 8G's. Fire Glow a Golden gate shipper get Joel Rosario to ride. He shoulld press the pace from gate to wire. He warrants respect. Eternally Fast shows up after a extended lay off. The last time we saw this horse at Hollywood he won a 32K claimer with a big speed figure. Jack Carava has his main man Martin Pedroza riding. He has fired with lay off winners in the past. Flashman Papers get Victor to re-ride him from the outside. He will stalk the pace. The same can be said of Ribald with Joe Talamo. He can press the pace or stalk the pace if need be.

             1. Eternally Fast....if fit scary speed
             2. Fire Glow....is fit and scary speed
             3. Ribald......off the pace

Race 3          LAZARO BARRERA MEMORIAL

1. Runflatout.... speed ball trained by John Sadler. He must gun it from the rail. The race is loaded with speed. He cuts back in distance to seven panels. A talented colt by A.P.Indy. He set blazing factions in the San Felipe faded at the quarter pole and finish last.

2. Flightofalifetime trained by Bob Baffert. He broke his maiden sprinting at six furlongs. Another speed colt with a big speed number breaking his maiden He finished second in his debut behind the super colt Maclean's Music. Then three weeks later he won  his maiden race "ridden out". He has had five weeks between starts and has been working excellent. He just might be the best of the speed.

3. Sinai... He too is trained by Bob Baffert. A bullet in his last work out for this race. He has the look a a minor award but the pace sets up for him if he is good enough.

4. Ain't No Other..... a Cal-bred by Old Topper gets P-Val to ride, He is trained by Steve Miyadi. He won the Harry Henson Stakes on turf. His fifth straight win. He has two speed horses to his inside so I expect Patrick will sit off the pace like last time and make a big run at the wire.

5. Bench Points.....the distance is ideal from him. I picked him in the Santa Anita Derby on top. He ran a awesome race despite the problems with the distance of a mile and a eighth. He is back sprinting around one turn. He has the speed to his inside which should play to his strengths. He will wait stalking then put his quick turn of foot down the lane. I have always thought he was better sprinting around one turn....beware~~``

       1. Bench Points
       2. Ain't No Other
       3. Runflatout

Race 4

The speed is Fullbridled's Sis with Lucky Timing pressing the pace sprinting on the turf. Lucky Timing is bred for the turf. She exits a key race where three horse came out of her last race and won. If she gets a easy lead she will try to wire this race. She has her work cut out for her because both Pleasing Sunrise and Miss Georgie Girl should stalk the speed and close. Pleasing Sunrise trained by Mike Puype looked like she needed her last race as she hung down the lane. Miss Georgie Girl had a troubled trip when she was steadled then found little room to fly late at the wire. If She repeats her last race she will take this field.

          1. Miss Georgie Girl.... a Fly by....
          2. Lucky Timing.....speed play
          3. Pleasing Sunrise..... hung but needed race
          4.  Fullbridled's Sis....might control the pace.

Race 5

A weak race for 30G maiden running seven panels. This race has the look of anyones race. Silver Luna  will be well bet.... she has had the perfect trips to win but no heart...Pass... Game Charmer should improve with a race under her belt. Player~~`` Running Isabella has shown speed against much better company. I can see her winning this race as I can see her fading too. She'sawontontomato should press the pace with the red hot Sutherland riding. I have bet her in the past. She cuts back in distance. Second time starter Winter Blossom adds the blinkers on the outside post. Victor takes over. She should move forward and can upset this field. The bomb in this race is Negra Tomasa who had to need her last start after running at Fairplex Park. She has faced better company. She has two year old speed numbers to make her a major contender. This is her second start after a layoff coupled with a sharp May 7th blow-out make her on my top list of a wide open weak maiden race.

              1. Negra Tomasa
              2. Winter Blossom
              3. Running Isabella
              4. Game Charmer

Pick three  9,10 with 5,6 with Clinton 7  $4.00

Race 6

The pace looks to have Kris Silver and Gothic Samurai pressing a fast pace. Control Seeker will stalk these fast pace. I expect Red Alert Day will be helped by the pace scenario also. Very Fair if he can get some clear sailing might be up in time at the wire..... A wide open and fun race to watch and bet.

             1. Very Fair
             2. Red Alert Day
             3. Control Seeker

Pick 4   5,6 with 7,8 with 5 with 3,4,5

Race 7

              1. Clinton..... had trouble trip
              2.  Point  Guard......scary pedigree with fast works
              3.  Matlow.....talented last summer
              4.  Indian Knight ...has run with the best

Pick three  7 with All with 3,4,5

Race 8

Lunada Bay looks to be sent early. Off The Wall is a new horse since coming back from a lay off winning two straight. Italian Rules trained by John Sadler started his career as a pure speed horse. He now has learn to rate..... which makes him scary with two straight wins. Sea Rascal has been off for two months. He loves this track having won 4 of 8....makes him scary off the bench.

After re-looking at this race..... the pace should be fast and contested...... Sea Rascal should like this set up and Victory With Honor should like this set up as well. Both horse should be stalking the pace. Blinkers on on Detail R Sketchy who looms large as the X Factor upsetter in this sprint. He was claimed by Hector for 50G's last race. He ran into a buzz saw Burji Dabui getting a respectable second. Check outs his workout tab.... He adds the blinkers for the first time.... I like him on top.....in a very tough sprint race..... most of the field can flat out win this.

            1. Details R Sketchy
            2. Sea Pascal
            3. Victory With Honor

Race 9

A baby race ends the night cap.

1. Passing Game....has the best post.....son a danzig..... take him on turf... FTS

2. Uncommon Sense..... blinkers go on for this gelding trained by Roger Stein..... did anyone hear his radio show....I did not~

3. No Team Spirit..... was well bet in debut.....Kory can flat out get them to fire second time out.....A Major contender as he warrants my respect.

4. Pedlars Way.....Anytime Mike Harrington sends out these Swiss Yodlers you must respect..... beware~~!!

5. Mr Cappuccio..... Harrington's wife trains this Swiss Yolder. He needs a clean break...then watch out...

6. Huntsville....a deadly trainer and jockey team hooks up with this son of Unusal Heat..... Warrant a long look here.

7. Dutch Lake..... will be over looked by the public but this trainer is excellent with babies and this jockey can ride them to the winners circle.

8. Hey Paulie......This team over the years have produced many baby winners..... love the trainer and jockey combo. A first time starter by a win early sire.

9. Nolarruninfor Jayci.....let's see one first

10. Arethereanycookies.....I have a sweet tooth... The trainer is heating up with Corey....... warrants a big look on the outside.

            1. Mr Cappuccio
            2. No Team Spirit
            3. Huntsville
            4. Pedlars Way
