Notes from the Underground

A interesting week-end with a number of high priced horse hitting the tote board at Hollywood Park. Bench Points collared Runflatout charging to the wire to win the Lazaro Berrera Memorial Stakes on Sunday. The Cal-bred son of Benchmark won for the fifth time. Acclamation, a 5 year old by Unusual Heat won the Jim Murry stake race on Saturday. He has won 5 of 24 starts. It was his first stakes win since the Grade 1 Charles Whittingham Handicap at Hollywood last June.

This Friday at Pimlico Handicappers Corner will play the 13 race card if time permits. The feature race is the Black-Eyed Susan. The field includes seven fillies.... the favored might be Wyomia who was a runner up in the Ashland Stakes at Keeneland last month. The Black-Eyed Susan is what the Kentucky Oaks is to the Kentucky Derby. The post position includes: 

1. Royal Delta




2. Hot Summer




3. Coax Liberty



4. Wyomia




5. Buster's Ready trained by Todd Pleatcher. She is the daughter of More Then Ready. She has seven career starts with three wins a second and a third lifetime.



6. Love Theway Youare......I have seen all of her seven starts with 2 wins and two third place finishes. She is trained by Cho Kwon Myung who trains Premier Pegasus.... Joel Rosario rides. No video on her at the moment.



7. Art Of The Hunt  is out of Lion Hearted. She is trained by Francis Campbell who is red-hot at Pimlico Park.
