Kentucky Derby Day

Race 1                  STARTER ALLOWANCE

A wide open starter allowance each and every horse has a shot to win the opener. The speed looks to be Jake's Soul on the rail. Mississippi Money should press the pace from the outside. Hampton's Bays Sun drops in class with a fast track might do the trick. Southern Ocean fits in this starter allowance.Perfect Joiski shortens up in distance for a money run. Uncle Pink looks spotted for action. He gets back on the dirt after showing tactical speed.... Beware at the morning line of 4 to 1.

     1. Uncle Pink
     2. Perfect Joiski
     3. Southern Ocean

Race 2                 ALLOWANCE

Bind a three year old colt out of A.P. Indy trained by Albert Stall posted a huge speed number in his debut at Gulfstream Park. Wordly owned by Jay Em Ess Stables posted his two year old speed number first time out at this track.  He drops after running in three straight graded races. He can win this race.... Beware! Lubango won his debut first time out at Churchill. His third races after a lay-off makes him a contender. El Graying shortens up distance. Three races back him ran a respectable highly regarded allowance race with Shackleford. He has speed. Bind looks tough. He should press the pace.

           1. Wordly
           2. Bind
           3. El Graying

Race 3                MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT

Mike Pegram owns C. J. Russell and Bob Baffert trains. The connections and trainer have been a deadly team over the years.  The dam has had five winners out of seven starters and one stakeswinner. Karma Shield bred for the dirt ran a respectable race at Keeneland. He was hammered down at the windows for his only start. Look who rides... Leparoux.... Golden Triumph cost 400 G's..... He has speed after showing a strong showing in his first race. Hot Pursuit posted a big speed number after coming off a lay-off.

           1. C J Russell........ Baffert has been on fire~~
           2  Karma Shield

Race 4               ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL TURF

Perfect Shirl I saw run at Del Mar when she was third in the Del Mar Oaks. This is her second race after a lay off since October. She fits with pace, class, and fitness. I like her last bullet works. She needs to beat her rivals like Snow Top Mountain and Persuading. She needs to reel in the speed which looks to be Persuading and War Tigress. Silent Candy fits after beating both Perfect Shirl and War Tigress. I think PS can turn the tables on both of these fillies and mares. A tough cast of salty characters in this wide open turf route race.

     1. Perfect Shirl
     2. Snow Top Mountain
     3. Persuading

Race 5              ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL

Depeche Chat should love this distance as he won at seven furlongs in his debut at this very track. A difficult distance first time out. He is a talented colt by Forest Wildcat. I like his works and Bejarano rides for Georege Arnold. He looks spotted for action at 4 to 1 morning line. Fusa Code cuts back in distance for Steven Asmussen. He was the winner at Sunland Park in the Borderland 100 grander. He should be in a good position to stalk the pace. The Man Uptown gets back to the dirt where he won his debut at this track. He looks fit and should do his fly by at the wire. Saratoga Red made a good looking move in the Ark. Derby the faded. Seven furlongs is ideal for The Red. He is a player as well. Another highly regarded allowance sprint race.

     1. Depeche Chat.......likes this track
     2. Fusa Code......looked great at Sunland Park
     3. Saratoga Red might be the horse to fear
     4. The Man Uptown....loves the dirt for a fly by..

Race 6              TWIN SPIRES TURF SPRINT

The horse for the course is Chamberlain Bridge. This old dude seven year old has won four out of five races on this turf course. He is the favorite which the pace looks to be fast and contested for the lead. Bridgetown a four year old colt will try to turn the tables on Chamberlain Bridge after finishing behind him in the Breeders' Cup Sprint last year. I have seen Regally Ready smoke the races at So. Cal. He is seeking his fourth straight win. I think he is better at this distance. Five furlongs makes him the horse to beat. Custom For Carlos should be in a good stalking position. He is a top turf sprinter that makes him a instant contender. Fun race to watch and bet.

    1. Regally Ready....... distance is ideal
    2. Chamberlain Bridge.... horse to beat
    3. Bridgetown....turn the tables...
    Longshot  .... Custom For Carlos

$20 across the board on Regally Ready~~

Race 7              HUMANA DISTAFF STAKES

Somebody needs to come catch Hilda's Passion. If she is left all alone on the front end she could wire this field. Amen Hallelujah with a slightly better trip in her last start might turn the tables on her.  This race has the look of a fast and contested pace. The race sets up for both Shotgun Gulch and Evening Jewel. Both of these fillies have a killer turn of foot down the lane. But having said this.... they need to beat Hilda's Passion.

    1. Hilda's Passion
    2. Shotgun Gulch
    3. Amen Hallelujah

Evening Jewel from off the pace~~

Race 8              CHURCHILL DISTAFF TURF

I have followed Fantasia since coming over state-side. The race sets up for a horse coming off the pace. Fantasia with Aviate and Never Retreat fit this bill. The pace has the look of speed (rabbits) on the front-end. Tapitsfly will most likely be sent to the early lead with Ice Mist.  Upperline has never run a bad race. She is seeking her third straight win after posting her highest speed figure. She cuts back in distance. Aruna has been perfect since coming over the pond. Motion and Dominguez are a deadly team together. She is a contender. Wild Mia is starting her second race after a short vacation. She is on the upswing in form and fitness. Never Retreat should be in great stalking position to close on this field. She is a ulta-game mare seeking her third straight victory. Wide open is the Churchill Distaff~

     1. Fantasia....sets up for killer turn of foot
     2. Aruna........perfect since landing stateside.
     3. Aviate........ classy Brazil horse with Mott and Kent
     4. Never Retreat..... horse to fear~~

Pick Four  1,26,7,8,9,11 with  1,2,3,4 with 6,7 with 16

Race 9              CHURCHILL DOWNS STAKES

Smiling Tiger a horse I have seen trained by Jeff Bonde is seeking his third straight win. Captain Cherokee almost beat Amozombie in his last start.... beware of this guy dude turning the tables on Smiling Tiger. Captain Candyman Can by Candy Ride looks tough after posting big speed figures. A Major Player. Noble's Promise gets back to this track after smoking a field in the Jimmy V. He should bet a good stalking trip from the outside. Apriority beat Cost Of Freedom......and almost beat Amazombie........

     1. Smiling Tiger
     2. Apriority
     3. Captain Cherokee

Add the one horse in exotics...P-3's

Race 10            WOODFORD RESERVE TURF

Get Stormy looks to be the early pace with the scratch of Little Mike Get Stormy will try to wire this race on the lead. Smart Bid should get a perfect stalking postion if Get Stormy melts down.... if..... Prince Will I Am looks spotted for action if there is a fast pace to run at. Moryba trained by Mott and Kent rides this classy import from brazil. I know both Court Vision and Battle Of Hastings who has been a major disappointment. I expect he might run better over this course then he ran over the turf at So. Cal.  Joel Rosario rides means you need to give him a long look.

          1. Smart Bid..... improving son of Smart Strike
          2. Get Stormy...... speed in paceless race
          3. Prince Will I Am...... married ball and chain``

         Longshot   Battle Of Hastings...

Double  To the Derby    6,7 with 16

Race 11            KENTUCKY DERBY

The pace makes the race.... Do we see a field at the finish line strung out or a field bunch together at the end...... A wide open affair with no stand out~~  ....... I expect  that Decisive Moment and Comma To The Top will be the early pace with Pants On Fire.... Shackleford and Soldat tuck right behind the early rabbits. Shackleford will be the early speed I expect if he wants to be.  Mucho Macho Man with Brilliant Speed and Midnight Interlude will tuck behind mid-pack. Midnight Interlude has the speed of position himself early or mid-pack. Archarcharch has the deadly rail but needs to clear from the rail or position himself mid-pack. I threw him out because of the traffic problems. Dialed In and Nehro with Master Of Hounds will try to close on the field down the lane. I expect Animal Kingdom to be close up early mid-pack then sweep wide or get position near the rail and have a killer turn of foot to win... Beware~~~

         1. Animal Kingdom.....killer turn of foot
         2. Brilliant Speed
         3. Midnight Interlude/ Dialed In

$100 ACROSS THE BOARD ON ANIMAL KINGDOM

DAILY DOUBLE PAID $389

WIN PAID  $43.80  PLACE $19.60 SHOW  $13.00

Have fun and see you at Hollywood Sunday```

Race 12

Streakin Mochain I have followed will be sent to the earlt lead. De Prince should be in perfect stalking position... Lou Brissie has the back class with big two year old speed figures to win this. He had to need his last race. I expect a better turn of foot in this seven furlong race. Archie Trucker is a game sprinter who is going longer.... He has tactical speed with Bejarano riding this longshot. I expect he will be overlooked in this spot.

     1. Streakin Mochain
     2. Lou Brissie
     3. Archie Trucker

Race 13

I expect Shrill who broke slowly will relish the added distance. Gentle Tap gets the inside post routing but has the tactical speed to clear off the rail. His debut was excellent. Tab for a big performance. Scuff will be sent early sitting right off the early speed. He has the perfect stalking style to win this maiden route race. Totemtale has a horrible trip last time out. He exits a fast maiden race.

    1. Totemtale
    2. Shrill
    3. Gentle Tap with Scuff
