Thursday at Hollywood Park

                           HOLLYWOOD PARK

RIP  GLIDED GEM BY MORANT

ULTRA BLEND BY MORANT

               Bank Thursday $843.50

Race 1

Thursday's first race is void of any early speed. Tripped The Light might be the filly on the front end with Joel Rosario in the irons. Monica CC claimed by Bill Spawr where she finished flying at the wire up north at Golden Gate. A daughter of More Then Ready has the back class with the Beyer's speed figures to make her a player. I like her as Martin Garcia takes the call. Feed A Fever had to need her last race. Powerofvoodoo has been a major disappointment. Jane Gail has been a horse I have followed after she ran a big race last year. She then just hit a downward cycle on form. She has been given some time off. If she needed the time off and fit and ready this is the race to bet her.

   1. Monica CC  2. Jane Gail   3. Tripped The Light

$20 place on Jane Gail  ROI $12

Race 2

One Mile on the turf for a claiming price of 25 G's. The pace looks to have maybe Sutherland with Unknown Heat and Caitie's Secret on the lead. If Sutherland decides to rate Unknown Heat then Caitie's Secret who is coming off a eight month lay-off might just steal this race on the front end. Caitie's Secret broke her maiden on this turf course last summer. She was five lengths clear of the Donner Wasser. Donner Wasser too is coming back from a eight month lay off. She gets Bejarano to ride. Streamline Baby trained by Darrell Vienna switches back to the cushion track after finishing full of run in her race where Jax El won. Jax El ran a respectable race last week. Streamline Baby faces easier foes today as a major player! Distant Glow faces winners for the first time but has the pedigree with the speed figures to make her a instant contender.

   1. Caitie's Secret  2. Donner Wasser  3. Streamline Baby

   (minus 8)

Race 3

A four and half furlong baby race for two year old maidens at a claiming price of 40 G's. Real Dream trained by Craig Dollase flew by at the wire in a quarter mile race to finish third. She according to the DRF was fractious at the gate. She should move forward and has the edge over the first time starters if relaxed at the gate this time. Joe Talamo re-rides her. Walter Solis the king trainer of baby races sends out Joseph Joe by Cherokee Run who is bred for speed and a win early pedigree. Joel Rosario rides. Welcome Back Tyler Baze who climbs on Southern Splash a Rio Verde filly trained by Doug O'Neil who takes a drop after finishing third in a good 100 G' maiden race. Kvell trained by Peter Miller is a More Then Ready filly who makes her first start. She has the works and the looks of a filly that can win first time out. Beware! Cross The River and Raggin Wood have the inside post position and both fillies will be longshots. Check out the post parade and tote board for more clues. Gogi looked great warming up ~~~~~

$20 place on Gogi  ROI $38.00

Race 4

This is a tough wide open race with a limited field routing on the cushion track in a starter allowance race. The bulk of the money will be bet on Lilly's Perfect who finished second at this level. She likes the cushion track. Her last race she had a ton of trouble getting to the winner Ruby Lane. Secret Oath had to need her last start after a lay off of four months. She made a good looking move then flattened out. I expect she will be fitter this time around. The question is who will be the speed at the quarter and half mile pole.  Good Acktress with a change in jockeys to Martin Pedroza might be sent to the lead with Warren's Peacock who tells this field Come catch me if you can... Tia Tia might be sent to the early lead also. The horse that might be over-looked at the windows is Lemon Drop Ridge who after ten races put it all together and broke her maiden. She can step up and win for Mulhall and Sutherland.

    1. Lily's Perfect   2. Lemon Drop Ridge  3. Secret Oath

Race 5

Cook Inlet by Candy Ride out of a mare by Pleasant Tap should relish the added distance. He debut at Santa Anita last December with The Factor. He finished a respectable third behind Huston Harbor. This is his second race after posting three bullet work-outs for trainer John Sadler. One of his main rivals in this maiden route race is Britt's Brother. He exits a good looking debut with Off The Wall finishing third sprinting. He then ran on a off track exiting from the rail. He has speed for trainer Eric Gulliott with Mike Smith taking the call. If he runs back to his fast debut on a fast track this son of Medalglia D' Oro will give Cook Inlet and Foreboding all they need. Foreboding has failed as a favorite in his last two starts up at Golden Gate. He ships down for trainer Eoin Hardy. He has been freshened up for two months. Check out his last three works outs.... long works with bullets in tow.... Beware as Bejarano hops aboard this major contender. Patriot's Voyage was well bet in his debut. Joel Rosario goes to Cook Inlet which indicates that he believes that Inlet is the one to fear.

   1.  Cook Inlet
   2.  Britt's Brother
   3. Foreboding/Patroit's Voyage

Race 6

A shorten sprint for the claiming price of 16 G's. I bet Five Star Fortune in his last race where he pressed the pace from the rail. He gets off the rail to the outside post position. He has speed numbers where he race at Turf Paradise to make him a contender with a hint of a price at the tote board. Beware Sadler is good first time off the claim... tab him to run a big race. The pace looks hot and fast at this tricky distance and Ribald who is facing a much better field then he did in his last race has the perfect closing style to do his fly by at the wire. A logical contender who warrant respect. Two Violins adds speed to this race. He has won at this distance and at this level. El Adelantado is trained by Leo Powell who knows a thing or two about how to get a horse to fire big time right off the shelve. Joyful Success is spotted for action after winning for 12 G's..... has a touch of back class and is deadly at this level if he does not bounce after a great looking win. Welcome Back Tyler~~~ Rivergrade Boy has been off for two year for Caesar Dominguez..... I love the last three works....... He adds the blinkers and JR seems fit to ride at the morning line of 5 to 1.....

   1. Rivergrade Boy   2. Two Violins  3.Joyful Success

Pick Three

6th                 1,3,4
7th             1,3,4,5,6
Add a daily double with the horses I have not included in my late Pick three  (2,7,8 with 5 )
8th                   5

Race 7

The feature race is at the distance of one mile on the turf optional claimer 80 G's non winners of one. The field is:

1. Great Warrior.... a son of Leroidesanimaux who is trained by the cagey trainer AC Avila finished in front of Akkadian in his U. S. debut. He then had a trouble trip at Santa Anita and faded off the board. I expect he is alot better then what he did his last race. Look who is riding the Great Warrior... Bejarano.

2. Palio Prince.... has the look of a long shot and he had a perfect trip in his last turf starter allowance race. He did not beat a field like this field. He gets the acid test on class and distance. He does have the right closing style for this surface and distance..... He is young and improving.....

3. Special Kid............ I have always like this guy.... He has excellent distance and turf pedigree. He was not beaten that bad by Uncle Sam and Clarke Lake..... Beware he should out-run his odds today for trainer Doug O'Neil.

4. Akkadian...... A son of Tiznow....looked awesome when he stretched out in distance on February 24th and won. In his debut he was a runner up to Mr. Commons..... He was hammered down in price his last race and according to his trainer Akkadian was pissed off at the gate. If he relaxes before the start of the race he just might be the horse to fear at the wire.

5. Cloud Man........... has a great Silky Sullivan racing style where he rallied from 9th to win his debut for trainer Shirreffs at Santa Anita on March 22. John Shirreffs is not known to fire first time right off the bench.....so take note here....Cloud Man is a talented colt and can flat out win this race.

6. Sahara Sky........ has been perfect in both of his sprints... He goes long today for trainer Jerry Hoffendorfer. He is bred for the turf. Blanc rides this son of Pleasant Colony who is bred to handle this distance.

7. The Flying Whizzer....... drops in class after running in the La Puente Stakes.... He has speed and cuts back in distance. A interesting longshot in a race I think is wide open.

8. Fifth Dimensation blinkers go on for this foreign import for James Cassidy...... He has been unable to get back to his Import form. He has the turf pedigree to take to the turf.... by the sire of Tathit.....

Race 8

Bila Shaka has faced better company then theses. Marty Jones trains Bila Shaka and if she still in top form she should win this race. Bejarano and Jones hook up and when they make a drop in class both are hitting at 30% when Jones makes this class move. I am going another direction here.... Let me explain...... Shaka and Warren's City Art and Dramatic Reward are the top horses in this race with a number of first time starters that might be live.

The horse that will be over-looked by the public is Negra Tomasa. She exits a key maiden maiden race on July 2 at Hollywood where three horses came out of that race and won. Social Event won the race then came back and won. Leslie Rules and Desparate Measure came back and won there maiden races. She finished fourth in that race. She switches stables to Louis Bradvica. A old dude that can train fillies to win. The last time she ran was at Fairplex. He has strung together a series of solid works for her comeback. I expect with the morning line at 20 to 1 she will go off around 30 to one. Oh I forgot to add this fact. She has some high speed figures for a two year old. She is now three. She fits with Beyer speed numbers in her comeback race. I could be dead wrong but I like her in this spot. She is facing a tough field~~~~ If she hits the board you will get your money back Today~~~

        1. Negra Tomasa
