Notes from the Racing Underground Derby Contenders Part 2

My Short List of Kentucky Derby Contenders.... subject to change and I can be dead wrong! 




1. Dialed In trained by Nick Zito by Mineshaft..... He is still learning how to run........He should love Churchill and the long stretch run at Churchill Downs.


2. Nehro....the further he goes the better.... lost a heartbreaker in the Arkansas Derby.

3. Archarcharch won the Arkansas Derby by a neck

4. Toby's Corner beat up on The Mo! By Bellamy Road....is improving each and every race. He is on the upswing cycle..... just might be ready to run a big race.

5. Animal Knigdom..... Check out what he did in the Spiral. He was blocked then made a great looking awesome move sweeping around the outside to finish gallopping out at the wire.

6. The Factor by War Front...... looked great in the Rebel but in the Arkansas had breathing problems........... a valid excuse if corrected by Derby time.

7. Shackleford by Forrestry..... three year old that should love the distance and the surface at Churchill Downs.

8. Mucho Macho Man........... a sneaky one that might be over-looked by the public.. a blue-blood with excellent pedigree.

9. Masters Of The Hounds...... interesting blue blood by Kingmambo

10. Uncle Mo ..... still a super talented horse that needed more races in 2011

 Midnight Interlude trained by Baffert by War Chant. A special maiden before the Santa Anita Derby..... and after the race "A stakes winner." He looked like he had more to give down at the wire in the Derby.
Astrology...... a head case in the paddock before each race...... He needs to chill out!! Lets see how he does in the race coming up........ trained by Steve Asumussen.
