Friday Night at the races Hollywood Park

                       HOLLYWOOD PARK

MALIBU PIER BY DAVID MORANT

Yesterday's Results.....I bet $20 place in the first race with Jane Gail then missed in the second race. I hit a baby race then played a late pick three which I missed in the last leg~~ Thursday was a black day which returned a big $17.00.... I guess any day that is a positive day is a good day. Thursday's bank started out  $843.50 plus $17.00 equals $860.50
Tonight  I will play two pick three~~ one starting in the third race and a late pick three and a late Pick four.... Good Luck ~~~

Race 1

A sprint claiming race under the lights for three year olds for a price of 25 G's.

1.  Golden Jet a Turf Paradise shipper walked out of the gate then made a good looking move then flattened out getting a good looking third  on April 10th at Santa Anita Park. He had to need that second race. I expect he will be more fitter this time around. A Major Player in a short field.

2.  Edgewick Road........ Joe Talamo who rode Golden Jet jumps aboard this guy. He has speed and takes a much needed drop in class.

3.  Tonzatrouble....... trained by Marty Jones and Bejarano team up. He ran a better then what it looks like on paper. He should be closing from off the pace.

4.  El Gaucho.......looks like the speed in a field void of any fast factions on the front end.

5.  Cat In the Forest.......might dual it out with El Gaucho... He might like a fast dry track for Peter Miller and Tyler Baze.

   1. El Gaucho
   2. Edgewick Road
   3. Tonzatrouble

Longshot that fits with these  Golden Jet

Race 2

A route race non winners of two races for the claiming price of 16 G's. No speed except maybe Colouroftheglen who should press a early pace and go off at a short price. His last race was down the hill at a slightly higher claiming price. Boulder Creek drops in class after a fourth in a route race. He should be dualing it out on the route end with Colousoftheglen. Zalu King last year looked like he was going places.... up the class ladder. He beat Chapman's Peak and Rachel's Moon in his maiden race at Del Mar. His has become a one trick pony...... and been a major disappointment. He was the beaten favorite last time out at this very level. Anga a stone cold closer will have little pace to run at.

    1. Colouroftheglen   2. Matamor  3. Anga

Race 3

A route race for maidens at the price of 30 G's. T.K. Fortysix just might have found a field of maidens that he can beat. He finished second at this very level twice. He takes off the blinkers and Jerry Hoffendorfer gets Joel Rosario to ride.... Martin Pedroza the regular jockey goes to Dancing Joy trained by Leo Powell. He ran a respectable first time route race battling for the lead with the winner Bell Blitz. He fits and if he repeats that race he might just find himself in the winners circle tonight. The horse that I like is Megaride who might turn the tables on T. K. The only valid excuses I can find is that needed that race after a seven week lay off. More importantly is the fact that he was in the outside post position and lost ground with five wide AQ piloting him. That day the speed was on the rail and no one was getting to the winner. Cherryzapper stretches out to two turns after showing speed sprinting. He drops from maiden special weight to face this modest field. Check out who he ran against his last race.... Maclean's Music... no monsters in this low level race. He is the horse to fear! Game A.P. gets off the turf after facing much better company. This lightly raced seven year old might just outrun his odds...... a player with double digit odds.

           1.  T.K. Fortysix
           2   Dancing Joy
           3.  Game A.P. stretching out!

 -$45

Race 4           Wide Open

A seven furlong cushion track race for N3X allowance. The pace might have Bet On Victor the speed gate to wire. He drops out of the race where he pressed the pace with Amazombie and lost the battle. No Amazombie in this race. He was returning off a ten month lay off. He should be on the muscle and much fitter this time around. Don Tito looks to be his main rival after racing with the likes of Twirling Candy, Tackleberry and Apriority. He is a closer and need a fast pace to run at. He needs to catch Victor. Informed last year beat Rail Trip when Tyler Baze was his regular jockey..... Tyler rides this son of Tiznow........ he can fire big time right off the bench for trainer Doug O'Neil. Tab for a big performance tonight~~~~

    1. Bet On Victor  2. Don Tito  3. Informed

    Longshot Mr. Martillo/ Kelly Leak

Race 5

This might be the night that Visual Intensity breaks his maiden. Cat Talk might have a big time say in the outcome. He tried two turns for the first time in his last race. He finished third by a half length on the turf against Calbreds. Making Papa Proud trained by Marty Jones had a ton of trouble in his debut down the hill on turf at Santa Anita. He usually fires big time second time out.... A Major Player with a hint of a price makes him warrant respect for a win. Time is running out for A Moment In Time. He does add speed in a race filled with early speed types. Time is also running out for a horse I have bet in the past Minister D' Oro........ who is a under acheiver... with blue-blood pedigree. Checkmark is a interesting one who is stretching out after a good looking comebacker down the hill. He should love the added distance for trainer Gary Sherlock as Sutherland re-rides this major player.

      1. Making Papa Proud  2. Cat Talk  3. Visual Intensity

      Longshots CheckMark/Romeo Royale

Race 6          ~~~~~  A wide open Race  ~~~~~~

Peter Miller and Joel Rosario team up with Alaska Miss. Miller is hitting at 25% with horses coming back off a six month vacation. Beware......He won on this track one year ago yesterday breaking his maiden first time out. Take note! Rosario gets off Chocolate Caliente who looks to one of the speed rabbits in this race. He is the fastest horse in this sprint race. If he can get a relaxing easy lead then slow down the pace he might have enough punch down the stretch to win. That depends on many factors.......like Lake Believe who adds speed to this sprint race. It sets it up for Lift Our Luck who has won on the cushion track. He will do a fly by at the wire for trainer Jeff Mullins..... the race sets up in theory for this dude. Sparrow trained by John Sadler has the perfect closing style to win this and I expect Luck and Sparrow to battle it out closing at the wire if and I say if the speed melts down..... Fun race to bet and watch tonight~~~

   1. Lift Out Luck  2. Sparrow  3. Alaska Miss

Lake Believe a longshot with Chocolate C

Pick three  3,4,8 with  1,5,6,9 with  2,11

Race 7

The class just might be Dancing With Gable to tries two turns in the feature Friday night race. He is a top level turf sprinter going long tonight with 11 victories to his name.  He loves the Hollywood turf as he is two for two. This race is filled with early speed as Dontmesroundwithjim might be sent to the lead from the difficult outside post so he will not lose too much ground in the first turn. He is a game dude. Gab Power beat the winner last week end in the Gold Rush Days..... Nahem who took the whole field at double digit odds. Gab Power has speed after beating Calbreds. He is seeking his second straight win but now faces open company. He is a major player with Joel Rosario re-riding. Tribal Nation looked awesome winning his maiden turf route race over Visual Intensity and Cat Talk. He faces a tough class test but has room to improve with his closing style that fits this race to a perfect fit. Excelling the beaten favorite in a high level state restricted allowance race adds the blinker for the first time for Bejarano and Hoffendorfer. He is a slight head case this son of In Excess.

    1. Gab Power
    2. Tribal Nation
    3. Dancin With Gable

live longshot Kim's Leading Man in form and fit

$20 place and show Tribal Nation

Race 8

QueenofCalifornia took some much needed time off after folding like a cheap speed horse dualing for the lead. She was the beaten favorite last time out for trainer Vladmir Cerin. Bejarano rides.  Chk Chk Boom drops in class after facing much better. She is a threat to take this race from gate to wire. These are the two top contenders that have run. There is a number of good looking first time starter in this low level maiden sprint. Right On Renee by Storm Cat sold for 40 G's shows up for trainer Melody Conlin who hooks up with Joel Rosario. My main concern is why this low level race and not a higher 40 G maiden race. She has been solid with her work-out tab. Promiscuoussuances........Wow... owned by Red Baron sold for 65 G's........ same concern as I stated above. She too has some nice drills. Early Evening owned by Harris farms by In Excess trained by one of the best trainers for maidens....... Beware!

Yesterday my pick in the last race was somewhat suspect as he was steadied down the back-stretch and faded..... maybe a drop in class might help Negra Tomsa....

Tonight I love the pedigree on the Whole Enchilada.... a four year old filly by A.P. Indy out of the dam of Summer Squall....Summer Squall is a over-looked win early bred for speed mare. A first time starter.......Check out her last bullet blow-out..... I will look for her in the nightcap before warm up time.... She has the look of a live runner.... and of course a bomb for Bean and Alicea.... I might include her in a late pick three.......~~~~~

    1. Chk Chk Boom

    2. Whole Enchilada

    3. Right On Renee
