                     HOLLYWOOD PARK

Happy Holidays....... to my readers and I hope you cash big tickets during the Santa Anita meet!  It's Fan Appreciation Day!  I want to thank David Morant for all the hard work in getting the great photo's at Hollywood Park. Check out the contest at Pace Advantage starting January to the Kentucky Derby. It's a online contest that I think the fans will love to play......so please go to Pace and sign up! At the top of my blog you can hit the Forum Pace Advantage button.

Race 1       Six Furlongs Claimer 16K

I like both of Dan Hendrick's entries...... Peacock Alliance and Torro Trippi. A Pick Three starting with both of them is my call here!

Race 2       Five Half Maiden 25K

  1. Steve's Blue Sky  2. Truckee Thrust  3. Kiss My Swiss

Add the horse Yougothatright in the Pick Three

Race 3       One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 16K

A tough route race at this level. Bimbo Magic won her last two...... steps up in class and looks sharp. She was reclaimed by Jerry Hoffendofer on Dec 9th. A good signal! The same can be said of Sweetsouthernqueen who has won via cheaper...... and was claimed right back by Mike Mitchell. She likes this track so beware she looked awesome winning. Living Our Dream ran like she needed a race under her belt. Bejarano re-rides which is a good signal for her fitness.Tripped The Light the last time I saw her was at Del Mar. She looked good beating Look To The Sky. She got beat by a class dropper Jana Gail. She has a good shot with this group of fillies and mares. Powerofvoodoo I have followed and is the classic hanger........ The old adage is "One of these days the front runners will meltdown and she will find herself on the lead at the wire!".

   1. Sweetsouthernqueen 2.Tripped The Light 3. Dreams

   Living The Dream

Race 4       Seven Furlongs Claimer  12K

    1. Big Revolution  2. Swongs/KK Bro's

Race 5       Six Half Optional Claimer

I like three horses...... first the horse to fear if he does not bounce is Solar Rocket! His comebacker back east should have him on the bit! He has put together excellent workouts. Alcindor smoked Scofield Barracks on Nov.28th. But Alcindor is not in this race and this horse Scofield Barracks has a great closing kick. Loethelion added blinkers his last race. He chased Indian Firewater after a short vacation whiich tells me he had to need that race to get him fitter. He drops in class and I love the bullet workout he has done in the morning.

     1. Solar Rocket   2. Scofield Barracks  3. Leothelion

Race 6       Five Half Maiden Special Weight

I love the debut of Gonelikeahurricane. With that race under her belt looms large in getting her diploma. Whispers Of War adds blinkers and she has a bullet workout. Miss Sea Cup gets the leading rider for her debut. Mike Mitchell does great with first time starters....Kilograeme looks like a runner! Beware! Paddy Gallagher has two fillies in this race Lunar Lover and Miss Sea Cup which both have plenty of solid workouts. Hard Race.........If River's Mambo runs back to her first race...... she is a solid contender. She shortens up in distance....... and the trainer is one of the best with young filles.

    1. Gonelikeahurricane  2. River's Mambo 3. Whisper's

Race 7       One Mile Sixteenth Claimer 32K

Take A Hard Look.........face winners for the first time.
O'Neil claimed him when he got his diploma...... expect a good performance in this spot. I like Anga who had the extreme post last time out...... I expect he should outrun his odds. Tale Of The Bat figures on class..pedigree... and form and is the one to fear stretching out........in this wide open route race.
Lucky Fitz stretches out and if he can relax during the backstretch he has a closing kick that makes him a major contender.

    1. Lucky Fitz  2. Take A Hard Look  3. Anga

Tale Of The Bat  is favorite!

Race 8       Seven Half On Trust Stakes

   1. Cayambe  2. Amazombie 3. The Bat Signal

    Mobilized

Race 9       Five Half Maiden 32K

Cabo San Lucas looks good if this colt runs his last race then diploma time for him. I like Peter Miller's gelding....... was well bet in June for Tyler ........ Cat In The Forest. Free Time if fit has the look of a contender! The first the starter  Sea And Sage looks scary to me.

    1. Sea And Sage

Happy Holidays...........fans and friends........
