Race 1       Six Furlongs Maiden Special

Robbie The Cat is the only horse that has racing experience on the turf. In his debut he ran a good race getting second at Hollywood on July 4th. He then took 3 months off and returned to race on the main track on Nov.13th. He returns to the turf with solid morning drills for Richard Mandella. King Of The Creek a first time starter with the morning line at 5 to 2 makes his turf debut for Proctor. Look who jumps on..... Joel Rosario. I like the pedigree by the sire of Theatrical on turf. Sire Smart Strike has produced some talented special babies. Smart Hombre trained by Marty Jones has a modest work out tab but has the pedigree to shine first time out! Panther's Claw is bred for the turf. He is trained by Patrick Gallagher and check out who is riding....... Gomez with long excellent solid drills in the morning time.
   

Race 2       Cat's Cradle Seven Half Furlongs

I have always been fond of the Book! Cat's Cradle! On class and speed numbers ...... Ultra Blend looks fit and in good form. She won the Cal Cup on October 30th and earned a Beyer number of 92. A Major Contender! The speed of this race is Camille C who I pick to win her last race but faded at a longer distance. I think seven and half panels is right up her alley. Beware of her going gate to wire! Word Associaton has the best form of the group. She has won two straight and now is facing much faster company here. U R All That I Am is the horse that won this race last year. She is a pro and had a somewhat trouble trip on turf in the Cal Cup Distaff on October 30th. She can win this! Warren's Jitterbug is a horse I have followed during her short career.  Last year she almost beat Evening Jewel. She got smoked her last race getting third and the winner was Ultra Blend. This distance she has a better chance to be closer to the pace then a longer distance. I like her to outrun her odds. Do not just dismiss her! This is a wide open race with a short field with contenders.

Race 3       Six Furlongs Turf Claimer 32K

Our Road Scholar trained by A.C. has found a surface the turf that she excels on. She is a stone cold closer right off the pace. She has to clear off the rail under David Flores. The horse to fear! The pace scenario looks fast on the front end. Tamerin will dual for the lead with Ultra Awesome and Midnight Margarita. If the speed melts down the closers ....... Our Road Scholar with Dish The Dirt and of course the horse dropping in class Bella Rosa.


Race 4       Six Half Maiden 25K

Forest Beauty get a upgrade in jockeys as Bejarano takes the call. Her pedigree is bred to win early. With a respectable race under her belt she should show major improvement. Lutess is the one to beat if there is no monsters in the first time starter group. Lutess has raced six times and has 5 seconds. The main question is " Is she a classic hanger down the lane". Suitable Attire has speed at Fairplex. P-Val will send her from the gate. She fits if she breaks cleanly from the gate. As for any first time starters check out Annie Lou who gets a great gate jockey Martin Pedroza and she has been training with some decent morning drills....... she not out of it.... she can fire if fit and ready.  Check her out during warm ups!

My Top Three contenders in this low level route is:

Race 6       Five Fulongs Turf Optional

A five furlongs turf sprint with plenty of speed up front. A salty cast of characters enters this optional claimer. Holloween Candy has turned into a tough gal on cushion or turf. She is trained by Peter Miller who is having a great meet this year at Hollywood. Salty Sarah is one quick gal and will go with Holloween Candy from the start of the bell. Joel Rosario sticks with this gal. I picked Naughty Mariana who routed her last race and got smoked on the front end.  She shortens up and can sit off the pace if need be. Speller a shipper from NZ who has won her first two starts has been firing in the morning time for her debut in the States. Terry Kight is the trainer. Knight can flat out get them to win on this circuit.  Mike Smith just adds to the mix.  Moon Stone Madness got smoked by Holloween Candy but on a different surface and a different distance............ A wide open race!

Race 7       Six Furlongs Maiden Special

Cookinthisorthat had talent last spring then was taken off the bench. She has been training solid for her comebacker today. Burton's Angel ran a respectable first race getting third. I expect a slight improvement as she is a contender to clear from the rail. This is a restricted Cal. bred maiden special weight sprint. A number of first time starters look live. Piney River debuts for Baffert. She has a solid workout tab and is by the sire In Excess who wins early. Frigid Bridget has great pedigree to win early with a solid workout and Bejarano takes the call. I like the first time starter Dancingtothestars for Doug O'Neil who is a sister to A Lil Dumaani. Do not dismiss the filly who takes a hike in class from 40K to Cal. Bred maiden special weight. A daughter of Tapit she was blocked at the top of the stretch her last race and should have won. I like the hike in class because if the first time starters need a race then Taptap I'mgone trained by on of the best trainers for young fillies trainers Solis Walthers gets P-Val to re-ride looks live!

Race 8       One Mile Sixteenth Turf Allowance

On back class Make Music For Me looms scary for a win in this spot. He looks spotted for action with a number of good workouts in the tank. The horse to beat! Get A Grip is fit and in form and can upset te top pick here. He seems to be on the upswing. Dubai You XYZ has won his first two racs and gets tested today in class. He should love the distance and the switch to turf with his pedigree. Alot to like and not out of the question. Distant Sky steps up to face winners after his turf race back east. I like the workouts and this new face has the connections to out run his odds today! If the top pick fails to fire then I like 2 horses for a upset........ Saravas Wild Again and Oilsblackgold
