Race 1

A short sprint to the finish line with a number of blue-blood fillies. Doug O'Neil shelled out $75K to claim Pink Blanket first time out. Rarely do you see this move "to claim" at a high price first time out. She looks talented after walking out of the gate she then made a big move to press the pace. She then put the after-burners on and shook free down the stretch to get reeled in at the wire.

Home Sweet Aspen a daughter of Candy Ride ran a highly regarded maiden race with Mildly Offenisive. She settled for second place. The Sadler-Rosario team second time out is deadly! Both of this fillies have the look of a winner. The two top contenders have to deal with Tuesday With P a ghostzapper filly that should be a major contender here. Shoo Gee has a look but I expect a minor award if any. The first time starters are well bred but I expect the three top contender are the winners of this race.

  1. Pink Blanket / Home Sweet Aspen 3. Tuesday With P

Pick Three  3,6 with 1,2,3,4,5,6 with 2,4,8 cost $36

UPDATE  PICK THREE RETURNED $155.10

Race 2

In this first level allowance race Detroit Danny a horse I have followed has been a disappointment . He got off the turf and maybe he did not like the track when it was wet-fast. He was steadied his last race. I expect a turn around and has a long look as a upsetter. The horse to beat is the Hard Rock Ten gelding Kevlar Kid who had to need his last race coming back from a long lay off. Bejarano stays with this dude. A player with short odds. Brace Yourself looked good winning in spite of having a somewhat trouble trip on the rail. A contender! Lunada Bay looks spotted for action from the barn of Bob Baffert. He cuts back in distance and if fit has a big look.

Race 3

The speed might just be Cabo San Lucas. My main concern with Cabo is his sticking power down the lane. He seems to give it up at the wire. Preferred Mandate should be in a perfect stalking position to close on Cabo at the top of the lane. Titian has a long look from the outside post. Anytime a son of Vindication shows up you need to give it a long look. Triple Action on Jan 15th posted a good five furlong workout. He then puts a series of short speed workouts in him for his debut.......lookout! Run Candy Run is better then what his last race shows. P-Val rides and he switches surface from turf to dirt. The trainers is hitting at 33% when he makes this move. Eyesablazin a son of Phone Trick is bred for speed. A Cagey trainer with a cagey jockey for him debut.........

         1. Run Candy Run   2. Triple Action  3. Eyesablazin

Race 4

A low level group of plodders and mid-pack plodders. Lucky Fitz adds blinkers after facing much better horses then this group. Island Sunset might fire off the lay-off......

           1. Lucky Fitz  2. Island Sunset  3. Coloursoftheglen

Race 5

A weak field trying to break there maiden running down the hill on turf. I will take the new faces over the colts who have run. Photo Shopped looks the best of the horses who have run a race.

            1. Guest Star  2. Joker Face  3. Photo Shopped

Race 6

Switch can run long as we witness when she gave Zenyatta a run for her money. She should be stalking the speed off of Always A Princess and Vision In Gold should be stalking the pace with Switch. This is how I envision the pace and results:

      1. Switch /Always A Princess  with 3. Vision In Gold

     Longshot St. Trinians

Race 7

The rabbit or speed in this race is Queen Mariles who finished a respectable second last month. Winsockie has back class coupled with speed. P-Val climbs aboard this daughter of End Sweep. Do not take this filly lightly in this spot. If fit and ready after 3 months off she looks spotted to run a big race. Bella Roja is the deserving favorite and the filly to beat down the hill. Rule The Storm claimed and comes right back after nine days off.  The trainer Mitchell has done this in the past and has won with this move before. She's Not lion might be the interesting longshot here.

        1. Bella Roja  2. Winsockie  3. Queen Mariles

$20 place and show Winsockie

ROI  $138.00

Race 8

I'am playing against the favorites so take note.... Jaycito and Comma To The Top with the two maiden breaker Runflatout and Albergetti  I'm taking a stand against...... This race set up for a closer in a race filled with speed. The value is in the horse I have picked below.
.
Jaycito switches barns from Mike Mitchell to Bob Baffert. He returns from a 4 month lay off.  He takes off the blinker from the outside post position. The pace scenario looks fast at this two turn one mile and a sixteenth distance. A number of the horses in this field are unproven around two turns. I expect Jaycito will be the favorite at post time. I will make a stand against him because of the short odds. I have not given up on Comma To The Top... He ran a semi dull race up at Golden Gate. He rushed up and loomed larger then life around the turn his then faded into the setting sun. It's hard to explain the jockey's decision in that race. Bench Point has the perfect trip when the rabbits set a fast pace and folded at the top of the stretch. I think the field was 5 horses. He then fell into that race. He is talented but might be over-rated here. I will take a stand against him but I could be wrong. He has not lost yet but this field is a different breed. The main question is Runflatout and Albergatti who won a highly regared maiden sprint race and now dives into the deep end trying two turns for the first time.  Both have a ton of ability and the pedigree to go two turns. Premier Pegasus a horse I was high on....has speed ......but I was somewhat disappointed in the race he ran with The Factor. He had no after-burner down the stretch. He might have needed to be more on the muscle and I expect he might run a big race in this spot.

With the pace fast I expect that this race sets up for a closer....... so take a long look at Surrey Star. His second start after a short lay-off. He should love the added distance. He needs his "A" GAME TO WIN.

       Surrey Star/ Premier Pegasus

Pick three 3,6 with 7,9,10 with 9,10,11

Race 9

        1.  Sarasota Sunshine  2.Catchy Tune 3. Prytania

Take a long look at Smart Strike

Race 10

I like three horses that have been off since Nixon was president. Victor Garcia has gotten horses to fire big off the bench after a long long lay-off. This is the case with Sweepemup and look who takes the call to ride...... Bejarano.  Proud Hillbilly has been off for 11 months for Jack Carava. Gomez shows up for this dude that fired second time out in his maiden win. He drops in class! Marcy Wood who I have followed and thought highly of him but have been disappointed. He needed a vacation and that is what he got with some down time. He has fired his best race after a lay-off. I like him on top.

        1.  Sweepemup   2. Gallintin's Run  3. Proud Hillbilly

       Longshot Jolly Ollie
