FRIDAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

MISREMEMBERED BY DAVID MORANT

                             SANTA ANITA PARK

I have been playing Gulfstream Park and yesterday I hit a Late Pick Four for $387.50. I bet the late Pick Four at Santa Anita with three straight winners but ran out in the final leg. The bet cost $9.00. The bank is $1,993.50.

Cost Of Ticket- $12

Minus $43.20 Rainbow

Race 1

Fire In The Wind drops in class for Grayson with P-V in the irons. He should be on the lead with his main rival Flashy Green who has the best form to close on Fire In The Wind at the top of the lane. But having said this I like My Johnny Cash to sit right behind Fire In The Wind and overtake him at the top of the stretch.

     1. My Johnny Cash  2.Fire In The Wind   3.Flashy Green

Race 2

Alala ran into a buzz saw when Maggie McGowan beat her. She was well clear of the third place filly in a restricted maiden special weight. She switches to the turf and this daughter of Salt Lake should relish the surface. She looks like the filly to beat! Her main rivals on the turf is Nana Beach who was third to Jax El when she tried the down hill course for the first time. Tribal Beauty walked out of the gate and shortens up for Mike Smith. She has tactical speed to put her right into the mix. Scent Of Chrism has a outside look on the hill Today.

      1. Alala   2. Nana Beach  2. Tribal Beauty

Race 3

Dee Dee's Legacy threw in the towel his last race. The track was called wet-fast which might be the reason Dee Dee's faded! I will give him a free pass. A Cat Named Snipe might be on the pace in a race with little pure sprint speed. His last race he broke slowly with some racing luck and a clean break at the gate he should be out on the lead with little pressure. I like Snipe to upsit the field. Flashmans Paper is on the rail but looks like the horse to beat in this race. High Perch has to need his last race and should be fit and ready to upset this group! Beware of this guy......... Jack O' Latern a lightly raced AP Indy son drops out of the sky. He broke slowly and had to need that race. He gets the leading rider and that makes him a major contender. The horse that might carry over the Pick Six to Saturday is Alabama Boy who adds blinkers and has a decent workout tab!

    1.A Cat Named Sipe2. High Perch  3.Dee Dee's Legacy

 cost- $24

Race 4

The speed in this high level turf allowance is Ryehill Dreamer and Red Eye Express. Ryehill Dreamer was on the pace in his last dirt race where Aggie Engineer won. He should be forwardly place if his main speed rival Red Eye Express is taken back. It might play out as a speed dual. Another horse that has speed is Uareoutlaw. Uareoutlaw looks like his last race was preparing him for this turf route race. Ron Ellis can flat get this import to run a big race. Mike Smith re-rides Uareoutlaw so take warning and I expect you might see him to a complete turn-around. This 4 year old colt by Wild Again might outrun his double digit odds. I will watch him warm up on the track this afternoon. I like him! Red Eye Express trained by Neil Drysdale looks spotted for action. He has back class and speed and if speed is unchecked in this race he can be dangerous on the lead. It depends what Ryehill Dreamer does. Big Shot Syd look to be in form and gets back on the best surface turf where he won. He is seeking his proper level. Rendezous looks like the horse to close with two sprint races under his belt. He is the 09 winner in the Del Mar Derby but has not won since then. He should be the betting favorite today.

Race 5

A first time starter Shezabigbroad by Broad Bush should love the turf but this maiden race is run on the main track. Having said that she training up a storm and looks live first time out! The trainer cold with his FTS. She will have to catch the speed filly Excessively Trick and Finish Rich In NYC. Excessively Trick changes barns and I expect she might clear and get the lead and take this race gate to wire. Finish Rich In NYC is starting to look like a professional maiden. He will sit right off the pace and close for Joel Rosario. Both of these fillies are major players to get there diploma Today! Bench Beauty first race was good then a semi dull race. I expect the wet-fast surface was the blame so does Bejarnao who climbs aboard this contender.

      1. Excessively Trick  2. Finish Rich In NYC 3. Shezbigbroad

Race 6

Red Day Alert a head case is stretching out to one mile. He should be on the lead. Kris Silver might go with him as well as Control Seeker who takes off the blinkers. If no one goes with Red Day Alert then he can steal this race on the front end. If a speed dual happens then take the horse that has won two straight turf races Asperity. Yolden Dan might be getting alittle long in the tooth but on his best days he is a scary closer down the lane. Stoneside is the classic hanger having not closed the deal at the wire. He will be around the wire having saved ground on the rail. A fun race to bet and watch!

      1. Red Day Alert   2. Asperity  3. Stoneside

Pick three

6th 1,2,4
7th 2,5,6,7
8th  2 and 3

Race 7

Sterling Outlook beat Royal FJ who came back and won! He wired the field last time out but today he faces a slightly better group and has more speed horses in this group. Lucky Primo has gas and look who is riding this horses after taking the summer and fall off... Joe Rosario. Uh Oh Bango sprinted a got beat by Bulldogger and Sreakin Mohican. He should be fitter this time around after a lay-off. El Martillo got beat by the Big Cap winner Game On Dude his last race. He shortens up and looks ready to run a big one. The live longshot is Who's Up who finally gets back to dirt where he has posted good speed numbers with a touch of back-class... Victor takes the call.

   1. Uh Oh Bango  2. El Martillo  3. Sterling Outlook

   Longshot Who's Up

Race 8

Bencia Beauty is the speed horse if the first time starter fail to fire. She will be sent sprinting at this short five and half furlong distance. She is the horse to beat. I like the 49er filly "love the win early pedigree" on the outside .......She Can Roar. I think the filly that Joe Rosario rides looks live too! Judy's My Angel trained by Warren. Bob Baffert filly drops from a highly regarded race with Maggie Mcgowan and the filly that is running in the second race today Alala......... so beware with her at this level. I still think the horse to beat is Bencia Beauty...... Random Luck drops slightly and should be sitting in the cat bird set if the speed melts down.

  1. Bencia Beauty 2. Whoopie

$20 place and show on Whoopie
